There is a massive change in the perception people have in bitcoin. I used to hear a lot of bad news about bitcoin in the middle of this year around June and July. People had fear during those times because of the constant fall in the price of bitcoin. People have now reached a state where they have realized that bitcoin has gone beyond collapse. The fake news by bitcoin antagonists have been identified by cryto lovers especially those have not known bitcoin for quite too long and the new members who wish to join the bitcoin train. This is as a result of the good education, advice and constant flow of information the crypto lovers and activist always give. Their efforts are yielding effect now. Many people have now realized the need to hodl their bitcoin and not to be dumping it. New members are doing a lot of research now.
I am saying this because I was one of those people who was afraid of the collapse of bitcoin. I got swayed away by those fake and baseless news about bitcoin until I got myself with some of the information being shared on this forum. I know a lot of people who at first wanted to sell their coins but have hold because of the education they got from this forum.
I have found an article written by @Technomage very useful and I recommend it to everyone.

My advice to crypto lover is that do not be swayed away by the fake news about bitcoin. Do a lot of research about bitcoin and you will see the relevance of it. I love to be educated. Let's all unite and safeguard our pride.

This year 2018 is just a lesson to all crypto enthusiasts especially for those who are just here because of the hype last year. They already know that cryptocurrency is not always.an up investments that anybody here will get rich by just investing without any knowledge of what is happening. They already know that this is a volatile world. They now know that strategies should be set up to make profits.

Yea! It is no more news that Bitcoin is day in day out gaining fame globally. Though some Governments are still skeptical because of its Deregulation and stiff volatility with the belief that Bitcoin might causes Inflation and perhaps difficult to be taxed since it is anonymous and Decentralized. But the fact remains that Bitcoin had come to stay and more positive news about Bitcoin especially on this forum are getting so many convinced making the naive wants to have the share of this coin for futuristic positive long term investment effect.

Thr climb to $19k and bitcoin's resistance against bears to cross $5800 is what I think strengthen people's belief in the said crypto. Also, tjhey have realized that news nowadays don't affect the cryptocurrency; it's just the market who decides what happens to the price with or without any news, whether it be good or bad. The recent flood of news on ETFs haven't really affected us in any way, while a few months back it was 'everything' for bitcoin. It is a sign that we're progressing and doing something good all along, and hopefully it continues and bring us better results.

Reliable information about bitcoin, cryptocurrency, blockchain, or financial advice would be better if we subscribe to information channels such as CNBC, Cointelegraph. because of course some of the above channels are often a trusted reference in this field.

For that lessons learned mate, we still consider it a good news for everybody who learned from their mistakes. Then the best news to follow for now is the much awaited progress for bitcoin to reveal to us in an unexpected happenings. Just stay focus and driven on your motivations right now, because one day we will experience comfort beyond our struggles.

CNBC has been horrible when it comes to crypto, in my opinion

This same way makes people get swayed in crypto with all sort of articles , I don't believe much in article cause I believe it was writing by human like me on what he believes or must have done research on or may heard from somewhere or can even be an imagination from him, so I do my own research and stand firm to what ever I believe in or discovered, and if I tell people they might also see it as a wrong part but I know and believe that which ever one will prevail and the technology is here to stay no matter what.

there is a good news in here somewhere but not because of what you said. there is no change in the people's perception of bitcoin. it has not changed that much. however what has changed is that the weak hand newbies who were panic selling are almost gone now. and these type of people have always been the loudest. which means they were mostly the target of FUD and the FUD spreaders themselves. now that they are mostly gone the community is calm and more silent because what is left is those who understand things better.

Yes, there is a massive change in the perception of people about Bitcoin. People have now been able to distinguish between the real news and fake news abput Bitcoin. It is more evident with price of Bitcoin being stable. The occasional dumping is till there, but that has reduced to a large extent. This shows that people now have more knowledge about Bitcoin that what they had earlier this year.

Yes, that is probably the common mentality of crypto investors who are unavoidable. When the market fluctuates, everyone is happy, and many things will go down. Uncertainty will cost you money and this can cause you to lose confidence in the market.

..yeah that's true,,many news and bad humours are spreading about Bitcoin in the pass few days..but if you are a crypto lover and do believe in the power of Bitcoin,,you will not easily deceive and get in touch in the bad comments that Bitcoin encountered..we all know the fact that crypto market is volatile and no one can tell weather altcoins will pump nor dump..that is the characteristics of crypto coins.. 

You are absolutely right. We should not swayed  from fake news. Actually we need not follow someone blindly. When fake news are spread, it effects on people's mind.We should raise our voice against fake and stupid news.

The right advice is not to read and not too much trust in bad news about bitcoin which may still be circulating. Remember, however bitcoin also reached a very expensive price last year, and never worry about the current decline in bitcoin prices that touch and hold at $ 6500. Everything will still be fine.

many people try to drop prices, so last year bitcoin has shocked everyone.
but most people respond with panic, they lose faith and get caught up in greed. forget it and it's time to come back confident that bitcoin has a future.

I fail to see the good news here :D Cryptocurrencies are gonna change the way we do our transactions of monetary value, But they need time to do that. People still don't know anything about the possibilities.

yes, panicking is one aspect that makes bitcoin fall drastically this year, and the crypto market is not normal.

reading and comparing information is a method that I always use to avoid fake news, so I don't feel panic.

besides, the bitcoin community helped me maintain my perception of bitcoin.

While I hated that the price went down, I did look at the positive side more than the negative one.

Our community grows unsustainably during the bull-runs. Then a crash happens and most people leave (but we still have more than we started) those who stay are mostly not the solely get rich quick guys. They are fire tested people who also dig deeper.

If the price had just been rising without crashing since 2008, the first big crash could decimate our community but instead we have built resilience through the evolution of a community that is resistant to fear uncertainty doubt and the market cycle.

When people see bitcoin price dropped rapidly then it is normal if they were getting panic from those situations but indeed some of them has been learn more although they were lost but usually they are coming back and involved again in bitcoin and probably you says it is true that currently people will more confident to see further price because they see bitcoin have bright future

When Bitcoin jumped from $1500 to $19000 in few months everybody was praising it, even some business tycoons said, investing in Bitcoin is better than investing in Gold but when it slipped to $6500 perception changed, no need to get panic here, people should be patient and look for the right point to enter, there is nothing to worry about bitcoin, such fluctuations are important part of every financial market.

I agree, we must not be easily affect by the negative things that anti bitcoin says against on it because they dont knkw what they are saying. Their are lack of knowledge about what bitcoin is. If we dont know something about bitcoin or on how it works, do some research and read different articles about it which may help to understand it more. Dont get distracted by the negative news that people are talking about bitcoin.

We quickly forget about the true essence of bitcoin - be your own bank. Cryptocurrencies are now looked upon (in general terms) as an investment hub. While that is a positive view, the perception, however, have generated the high volatility value for bitcoin. The price now depends on peoples activities which basically is to buy and hold/invest - the basic idea being to invest/trade and make profit.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           

Fear is  one reason why some of our mate panicking to sell their tokens when price  go down and continuously falling, always remember that bitcoin has a strong  foundation that   cannot be easily  gone by the bads news or whatever issue.

When it comes down very quickly people are referring to the end. When it goes up, people talk about the blessings of God. The trend-changers are just turning themselves into clowns, recognizing trends and transforming them to succeed.

Fake news about bitcoin are either positive or negative. In whatever side it is, don't just believe right away, better to always look for articles or news that come from reliable source. The changes is bitcoin's price is due to how investors think of the bitcoin and the market. So, news great affected the bitcoin's price. The bearish period of 2018 is not yet over, the market is gaining strength nice and slow hoping this to give bitcoin a huge momentum towards the end of this year.

There is a good news for us, it is all the currency's worth messages, I think day and night prices will increase, and those who keep the currency hold may get better.

I listened to some people and did what they thought was right and looked on youtube and lost some good opportunities. Now I learned that all you need to do is to do your own reasrch. And don't follow the crowd or fake bad news.

Crypto lovers usually don't care about what happens and they only want profit without thinking about the loss they will regret later. They don't know crypto travel and how people need crypto, which later crypto will become trending in the future, they just follow the issue they are stupid

in my opinion, most lay people who join the crypto world and they believe in bad luck and exaggerate the news and many people who believe and sell at cheap prices this causes a collapse in prices. I suggest that everyone does not immediately believe in bad news. You have to do a riset first

Well said mate, this is how the world reacts in tough situations. Last year it was trending and that became a hot topic in the world. But now there are lot of negative feedbacks. If again it starts recovering they will say it was expected. Guys start investing in this for a better future.

I have great perception regarding this issue, Bitcoin and cryptocurrency will dominate in the future monetary market so people should realize the importance of this platform right now.

You will find the fud increase as the price drops, because the shills gets a better platform to spread their nonsense, when everything is all doom and gloom. Yea, we need to stand together to get rid of this nonsense and the only way to do this is to counter it with the truth. The little trolls tend to crawl back into their little caves when you counter them with the truth.

Great, it is always encouraging to read such information but I think the article would have been really complete if you had included a link to the article you were referring to. This would have been really helpful to make your statement much more complete. Indeed this year has been really stressful for most crypto enthusiasts, there have been a lot of bad speculations on bitcoin but I think the future looks great

many are studying cryptocurrency as a technology, and have already learned from the fall of cryptocurrency in December 2017

that's a good information for more people on this forum, it can decrease the panic sellers because the panic sellers usually get swayed away by those fake and baseless news about bitcoin

The year 2018 has become a serious test for the crypto community, however, we hope that the fall in the rate and negative messages about Bitcoin will not undermine confidence in it, and the most persistent and goal-oriented traders will remain on the market.

The good direction is set for quite some while now. Normally Bitcoin should have been on a rise for months now. But it's not..

You're right. Always think positive and keep on learning and searching tools that can help you learn more about cryptocurrency. Knowledge is the best method to use in cryptocurren y so that you are not easily down in terms of trials and downfall of crypto market.

People are now getting what bitcoins stands for. Bitcoins is a true asset that is reliable to hold but not a ponzi or easy making money scheme. With patience and continue holding can bring you a bigger profit in the future.

You are right we need to be possitive with bitcoin but for me I realized that crypto is not always having a natural moves ups and down. This year is not a hype year for crypto as what had happen last year that the price was super bullish. I came to think that if the price strikes up I have to sell my holds as long as we can earned because as what have happen to the price of bitcoin now, this is what I have realized then.

I go with your advice I also guess most people just jump in to Cryptocurrency because they see other folks make cash and I believe this year has really been a lesson to all that is not all about to jump in because you see you4 other pal get the cash I bet, that income never Started now it was earlier last year and so it is. Exactly, majority hasn't seen a bear market yet so its good that at least we saw it this year and let everyone understand how to trade and react in this kind of sentiments.

They should feel lucky for that hype last year but that was last year and must stop believing on that again because bitcoin itself is not that too expectable it is very unpredictable if you really are here for a long time ago. You will know how bitcoin would interact to every possible FUD and hype but that hype was long gone but still, i was expecting bitcoin that someday it would just even break the $10k resistance.

Same with me here.I did not lost my hope in bitcoin even if its price continue to fall.I know this will definitely change in time.We just have to trust bitcoin whatever happens and never leave as easy as that.Bitcoin will sure to make a high surge if not this year,then maybe early next year.Just be more patient this time because this will be all worth it in time.

I agree to you there are many fake news affect from bitcoin price suddenly fast to price dropped, lately rapidly i hear and read about more good news from bitcoin but the price still slow moving to uprise.
 
And if you seen the price in the coinmarketcap almost 10 percent another price dropped, hope the goods can help bitcoin rebounds again their price.

You know one of the factors to become a successful investor is to like learning new things, we absolutely must have them, no matter how high our education is if we don't want to learn and accept new things, we will still miss, because in my opinion schooling is only just teach the basics while the application we have to look for ourselves. so also with cripto investment, every time there will definitely be new things, if you are an investor who can last a long time now, I think you are the real economy, because to survive it is very difficult more difficult from when we start.

now is to dificult to rise a bitcoin, many people think is gonna be success but not every people know the basic of economy bitcoin market. the market is handle by the elite people to get more money from btc. it just few people can get btc with huge profit. sometimes they lies about it with short progres but the fact is not. 

Agreed with your statement actually, in this  year we can see a lot of newbie only wanna get their profit with bitcoin without learn some stuff or any other practice way. I think that's why the Merit system has been set up in this forum to reduce those kinda bitcoiners. Well, as we knew that in bitcoin it is an easy money but sometimes we need to be patient at all and we can't be a panic seller which is really involved the bitcoin prices.

I do not think the implementation of merit in this forum has something to do with Bitcoin (crash or uptrend).  This forum serves as one of information hub about bitcoin and other cryptocurrency and besides, cryptoworld does not revolve around this forum, there is way wider world out there for crypto enthusiast. 

Last year was a great hype for Bitcoin, though some analysis said that it was a bull trap last year and this year it is possible that bear trap would appear.  Though it is just a personal analysis of some trader but I believe it would likely to happen.  Once this ETF is approved we can see another uptrend rally for Bitcoin.

Quite unfortunate that in the quest of getting adequate info, most and easily spread ones are fake and most investors blindly believe such info and ended making terrible decision for themselves. It's high time such fakes news be pull down as soon as it's noticed/found.

yes you are right, we should not be influenced by false negative news that is deliberately made by people who don't like bitcoin, because it will make us panic and we will get loss if we are exposed to false negative news, when there is negative news about bitcoin it is better not immediately believe, it's better to do research first.

I don't think that fake news are the ones influencing their bad outlook about bitcoin especially during this year's 9-month drought and decline. I think it's the lack of knowledge most people here in cryptocurrency special mention who just been here this year. To stay and survive here, one should have the initiative to learn if not all as much as information.

10 good news do not make a bad one because the market is an evil with that and because of it, we everybody involved here are bleeding from it. Lmao. What has the merit system something to do or reduced bitcoiners? Those newbies are long gone because they have been burned already. And bitcoin is not easy money, even long term investors knows the risk involved here. Its ok to panic the first time, however, if you always panic when the price experienced a dip then this whole crypto investment is not for you.

You are right basically many false news I have received in this year 2018 fully because crypto market goes to down, especially few crazy people do it maked this news and articles.bad and good two news give us pain for the new Bitcoin users.i have to say expensive is the right time always investment, trading.

Logical advice but I would also argue for the opposite. Yes, don't be swayed by "fake news" but fake news here isn't just FUD, it's also the unrealistic positivism surrounding Bitcoin that bears all the hallmarks of shill activity. Instead of trying to outdo the FUD side of the camp, just stick to the basics. Use Bitcoin, use the tech, look for ways to get Bitcoin into more meaningful areas of your everyday life. Try and understand that Bitcoin's progress technologically and socially are completely divorced from price and market conditions.

I think too many people thrive on unrealistic expectations for price and profit, while far too few people are taking the time to really learn about Bitcoin and use it. Spend a bit of time on the basics. Surprise yourself with new ways to use and look at Bitcoin that you were never able to see before because of the thick lens of price blocking your view. Don't just invest in Bitcoin. Get yourself invested.

The spread of good news really needs to be increased. There is no other way to attract the new investor to this market. people are afraid to deposit their money, unfortunately. Good news will also encourage other people.

The crypto platform and any other investing platform has got so much to teach its participants, new lessons everyday! Investing and trading are not easy activities. You've to do a lot of research work before you can put your hard earned bucks into a source of investment. And obviously that'd be utter stupidity if anyone does not study the market before investing.

There is more and more good news, but for some reason prices for cryptocurrencies are only falling. This is probably done before the big price jump. The only thing that these jumps are getting lower and lower last months.

Absolutely, I agree with you. This year was a lesson to be learnt about the crypto market and that was that not everyone who buys in at any time always gets good returns because of the price volatility and that one trend does not follow another.

I don't know what bad news is OP talking about. There was almost no bad news at all this year. Some were a little bad but did not get confirmed in any way like that piece about tether not being backed by USD and being used to influence the price of Bitcoin. Most news were neutral but showed in a bad light so that an average user would see them as negative.

while the market is in bloodbath, the news regarding bitcoin is going positive and there is a rumor that in the near global recession, cryptocurrency will be the new frontier in payment system. lets wait how the market and community decide.

Yes there were news and articles about how cryptocurrency been dealt by the governments and authorities with some of them were good news and some of them seem rejections. But, what matters here is how people here in industry trust the future of this technology. Most of us know that this is a great technology that still has drawbacks but has a lot of room for improvements.

Bitcoins seems to have found a strong bottom, where the support are great. Hodling bitcoins seems like the best choice anyone can do, I don't think holding altcoins will be a good choice in the long run, when it's comes to altcoins, it's better just to jump on project with a good momentum and remember to take profits before the projects gets to there goals.

if for myself until now I still believe that bitcoin in the future will benefit many people and of course it will be able to generate huge profits for those who want to invest in it, there is a lot of negative news circulating in bitcoin, but that won't stop me to continue to invest, even though the price is now far below the highest price level, but I think that in the next few years bitcoin will raise prices again, even higher than the previous highest price level.

Information is not all that is needed to solve every problem. The new information gives people the amount of information they need, but depending on the information from it I believe that the creators of false information will manipulate people.

When i still newbie in cryptoworld, so easy i trust news about bitcoin, also easy to believe what people were say about bitcoin. Especially about price, But when i learn more, i know it. So until now i dont trust negative media about bitcoin anymore. I dont knw what is the purpose of the media to make negative news like that, maybe he want buy bitcoin with cheap price

Exactly agree with you because my experience with Bitcoin in 2018 is complete.When I thought the prices whould go high it actually gone into loss and vice versa and still I live to get in contact with me

I don't pay much attention on news about bitcoin because majority of them are either FUD or hype. I hold it no matter what happened because I know the value will increase after a few years more. I only sell a few if I got short and need some cash for special occasions.

Thanks to the unforgettable dip last year, it attracts many investors and even normal persons to at least try know that bitcoin is and what it can do. It somehow erase their negativities and misconceptions like thinking these online business and transactions are all scam when in fact it is not. Also, thanks to the decreasing of the value of bitcoin this year. It is a blessing in disguise for the reason that it somehow tells them that it is not always Christmas here in bitcoin and there are times like these which it needs patience and faith that bitcoin will increase its value again.

Not just CNBC but most of the media are horrible at delivering messages and news to the people. There has been a negativity about cryptocurrency mainly at bitcoin when it comes to massive broadcasting. That is why self researching is more advisable than watching news about the cryptocurrency. Media really affects the thinking of others towards the cryptocurrency and i think that is also why there is no hype on the cryptomarket yet.

I agree to this! being knowledgeable in things are the most important thing to make your fears and doubt gone. If your equipped enough with knowledge about something then you won't be affected to all bad news spreading around you. You need to research and study more about bitcoin if you want to overcome all of those.

I am hesitant with bitcoin at first thinking that it might be one of those MLM scams before but then due to curiosity, I research more about it. I was scammed at first joining those cloud mining sites and I learned my lesson from it. I don't know anyone personally who has involved with cryptocurrencies during that time and I am happy now that more people whom I knew personally are slowly getting engaged in bitcoin. One day, mass adoption would happen and we would be proud of being in here first then the majority.
