What actaully happens and what wallet address are you running. When you click on receiving addresses, does the computer look like it's doing anything, does anything get highlighted if you hover over receiving address. More importantly, what software are you running (name and version). Bitcoin Core generate lots of addresses, so there's no way it's empty.
