Because crowd-sourcing works, and because most of us are basically smart, basically good, and basically intellectually honest. Just IMHO of course, but it is my experience. I would not say the same about the majority of the corporate and gov't "elite."

Just "currency" can be replaced with "approach" or some better word. And we should not forget that Bitcoin is not just a currency. Don't delude yourself by assuming that the whole community is smarter than the tabloids. The reality is that there are still morons and idiots here just as in anywhere else in the world. A small bit of optimistic delusion is good for your sanity and improves the chances for success.The OP said "can succeed" not even will succeed.
