Title: What is my fault?
Post by: Not_a_joke on October 13, 2018, 07:33:20 PM
Greetings all members,

Today my bitcointalk account was banned by a Guest for posting a low quality comment to a thread in Alt coin section. The reference guidelines (what not to do) were provided to me vide this URL. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2284371.0

I surpised to see the contents of the post. There was no match between those not to do guidelines and my posted comment.

The posting time of those guidelines was just a few hours back. Where as I commented atleast 6 hours prior.

I found many comments of other members almost similar to my comment. I didn't copied their comments. Not spamed. My comment was related to topic. Infact, that comment was a must to show that iam following that thread.

My comment deleted also.

How that guest desided that my comment was of low quality?

I searched for a proper authority to whom i should contact. But no way. No email address or any fair contact information. That generous guest has not left a single chance for me to send a DM to any admin.

There was no otherway left for me except creating a new account to put this point on forum.

Now I can't refer that comment to all of you, since it is already deleted. But I can post the screenshot if it is reqired.

Spaming and useless stuff is everywhere on internet  Efforts put to keep the forum clean is appreciated. But, that should not be done on cost of baning a genuine user and removing related comments.

Can anyone please tell me what is my fault?

Regards,

Whats your Account that was banned ! ?

If you write so much text and not a little hint of what account you are talking nobody can say anything about the whole thing !

-snip-
Can anyone please tell me what is my fault?

First, you answered the question that you were asking.
Second, you were banned by a moderator but the forum doesn't provide names to avoid harassment and stupid comments.
Third, give the link to your account, maybe someone could give you more information.

I really doubt if a low or off topic comment leads to a perma ban

I think the comment will simply be deleted by a MOD
A link to your account and maybe we'll answer your questions

Does it show as banned if a newbie account gets nuked?

Just speculating based on the low quality comment.

I found many comments of other members almost similar to my comment. I didn't copied their comments.

This alone would have led to the post getting deleted. Now that you mention an Ann thread I'm wondering if they were incentivizing posting.

Now that you mention an Ann thread I'm wondering if they were incentivizing posting.

This would imply so (emphasis mine):

I found many comments of other members almost similar to my comment. I didn't copied their comments. Not spamed. My comment was related to topic. Infact, that comment was a must to show that iam following that thread.

But without knowing which thread it is and which user we're talking about it's impossible to say what's going on here. Seems that the OP just wanted to vent rather than ask an actual question.

Not sure if it's some miswording, but the guidelines were posted a year ago.
It's possible that OP actually did want to post that they were following the project (genuinely, as people did before the bounty spam-craze) and was banned because the bounty incited bumps on the thread.

(where OP got looped into a mass-ban)

Today my bitcointalk account was banned

I think he knows why he was banned, otherwise he would have posted his account right?

Good morning members,
Thankyou for yor valuable suggestions.
As said by actmyname, it was a old post. Its my mistake that I didn't noticed clearly. Sorry for that. Secondly I dont understand the meaning of OP.
One of valuable suggestion made by InvoKing is
First, you answered the question that you were asking.
Second, you were banned by a moderator but the forum doesn't provide names to avoid harassment and stupid comments.
Third, give the link to your account, maybe someone could give you more information.
Thanks for that. I did not said my post was of low quality. Its of the Moderator who deleted and imposed ban.

Now I came to a fair idea that here, Moderators are gods, they can delete posts which they dont want to see, without answering to anyone. Even they ban people who they dont like. All these can be done anonymously. Great!!!!

I was ready to share the screenshot of my comment. But, now I am sure that Generous Moderator can do more behind the curtains.

Iam sure that moderator not reacted on this post, though he knew what's went wrong for just to maintain his prestigious status of Moderator. LOL.

This forum is definitely running on the fancies of Moderators. Otherwise there could be a link available in forum to communicate with Final Administrator about whats going wrong here.

Sorry, my english is not so good. But I tried my best to convey my pain without hurting any sincere member.

Thankyou.

I dont understand the meaning of OP.
OP simply means Original poster, creator of the thread before other preceeding comments..

Thanks for that. I did not said my post was of low quality. Its of the Moderator who deleted and imposed ban.

You really do not have to say your post is low quality, its the duty of the MODs to decide off-topic and low quality posts/comments

Mods aren't gods neither do they delete whatever they do not like, they are our warriors in here against shitposts and unending spam megathreads, their jobs aren't really an easy one considering what the BD and AD put them through every single day, they must be super human going through those sections everyday.

The MODs actually don't react to complaints of threads about deleted posts/banned accounts, they are busy looking for more shitposts to delete and so they allow the community to do its own fair share as we're doing in here

MODs can't really ban anyone simply for no reason, you're not sending us the link cos you're guilty, there is of course a final administrator you can appeal your ban with but there's 99% you're not getting your account back, and that's cos the MODs are trusted members of this forum, as well as their judgements

Thankyou for telling the truth that I cant get back my account if I approach final admin also.  ;D BECAUSE MODS ARE ABOVE GODS.
Iam not guilty, I didnt do anything against the rules. Can you please give me link/email of final admin? And what is BD and AD? Also, how to close this topic?

Thankyou very much

Geez, could you be any more of a drama queen?  It's not some big conspiracy against you here, and I honestly can't tell if you got banned or had some posts deleted or what.

Moderators have been cracking down on thread bumping in the altcoin section by people who post nonsense garbage like "great project" and the like, and I think making posts like that is enough to earn you a ban.  And don't be surprised when you get posts deleted, and when you don't get an explanation.  I've had plenty of my posts deleted by mods, and I'm fine with that.  Nothing I write is so important that it requires me to get upset when a mod nukes it.  If nothing else, it tells me that mods are enforcing the rules and deleting posts that break them.

Also, when a moderator deletes one of your posts, it's not likely because the mod doesn't like what you're saying--I haven't witnessed a mod being that petty yet.  As far as your ban goes, it was probably well-deserved if you were shitposting and bumping threads in the altcoin section.  It happens so frequently that the mods can barely keep up with the spammers.

Create your own thread. Don't post anywhere else. You have posted on the Russian boards recently, which might be considered ban evasion. Don't do that again and hope that moderators will assume you didn't know about your ban at that time (very unlikely though seeing how you created this new account after the ban).

"Writing on the forum" while you're banned is called ban evasion. You would know this if you had read the rules (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=994018.0).

Except of course you don't give a shit about the rules, which is why you were banned to begin with.

You will never get an answer if you keep making up your own rules. Create a new thread in Meta, post your ban appeal there. There is nothing else you can do.

Moderation of this project, very amazing people.
If they like - delete.
Do not like it - do not delete

You just answered the questions your self by telling the audience that you violated the forum rules by post low quality comments. The only thing I think you should do now is to find a way of creating an appeal post or message if the forum moderator can released your account for you.

No, you weren't reading.
OP claimed that their post was not spam. The only time you would conclude that they weren't contributing was when they were justifying their post with "I found many comments of other members almost similar to my comment" as it would have someone conclude that comments of such a nature were acceptable.
Like I said previously, it is possible that the thread suffered a mass exodus and that OP was looped in with the rest of the spammers.
