Does anyone know some good website or table where I can see comparison between top alt coins? What I'm looking for is a simple table with the name and main purpose/usage scenario of altcoins (for example for top 20 altcoins). I'm not talking about price, market cap and value, only about the idea and the main purpose. I guess that majority of newbies and a lot of older members of this forum doesn't know what is the idea behind most popular altcoins. I know that I can read Whitepapers but for that I need days, maybe even weeks.

I would strongly suggest you to go trough it and do the research yourself. There are many things you can find out that will help you to make more accurate judgement. Besides, there is no short cut  with crypto...

Coin Market Cap will help you find the web sites and White Papers. A short description won´t tell you much... all of them are chains and have more or similar characteristics.

I'm not planning to invest money. I would just like to know "who is who" on the market but there is no point to spend weeks reading WPs.
This is one example of what I'm looking for:

It would be great to have similar descriptions for the most popular coins/tokens in one place, but is seems that something like that doesn't exist.

Short description is really bad. For example, in that your description there is monaco like something credible, but there are already scam accusations for them even on this forum. So I wouldn't recomand short descriptions!

Well, that short description is from Binance website. I guess they know their token better than anyone else :)

Maybe you can look at coinmarketcap. There are so many altcoins listed for you to find. Because in Coinmarketcap all there must be if the altcoin registered there. Maybe this is the advice that I give to those of you who want to see the top altcoin.

Google can get you a lot of information about it, especially in steemit they have good articles that explain many of the most important, such as bch, ripple, ethereum, venq, ltc, and make some comparisons between them, keep in mind that many are not similar and have their own goals and technologies.

Very well said they havent able to give out on whats being asked yet its clearly stated that OP doesnt need to know about the price,marketcap and other related things but rather he needs a list
that do summarizes of on all Coin informations which had been given out by o_e_l_e_o . This do deserves a merit  ;D

I guess that wikiedia should be the correct place for you to get the more info about that, read whitepaper or visit their wikipedia.

But wiki gives a simple explanation that focus on the point of the platform itself. Wiki has created by the team of the platform. each of them have created wiki (i meant the major crypto)

It also has this collection of 100 cryptocurrencies described in less than 10 words. (https://www.investinblockchain.com/top-100-cryptocurrencies-10-words/) It is useful for when you do not have much idea of what a certain project proposes and does not want to go deeper into it. Just want to understand what it is for.

In my opinion, the short description of the top Altcoin must be investigated by investors themselves. I have read on the white papers of the projects, I refer information on the forums, on the rankings, I consult the community ...

Coinmarketcap, icobench and some review sites. There are many websites that we need to look for since,we need to research the coin properly, if we see it we must visit their own website too to know its potential.

There is another site where you can compare two cryptocurrencies but I can't remember the name. It has a great interface and very useful. I will let you know once I can remember.

A good way to get a quick overview might be searching for youtube videos. Also that way you might find some older stuff that really is funny sometimes. Also follow the twitter accounts of the projects of interest.

Look for interesting and informative crypto blogs on Medium or Steemit. I would also look at bitcoinexchangeguide website. They are usually posting great token reviews. Or you can visit their websites to create your own opinion about these top 20 coins.

Yeah nice one buddy. This is the first time I'm hearing about upfolio website. I checked it now and like the way the the informations about each currency are arranged, short, concise and clear. It also has some of those date we see in CMC. Bookmarked already for future reference.
