What is the amount of merchants that accept bitcoin as a form of payment in the world?

There's no exact and certain number for that but they are plenty already.

You can google search most of those popular companies that are accepting it right now and even the small ones. This is just one list of many of those in the results.

I've seen a website before where it contains tons of merchants that accepts bitcoin but I can't find it anymore.

In 2016-2017 there were about 100,000 merchants/companies/services accepting to be paid in bitcoins.

The number certainly decreased during the last quarter of 2017 when transfer costs were high, and that they thought it wasn't a viable solution to offer. Considering if 10% removed bitcoin as a payment option, still 90,000 are using it, and it's a very good metric for Bitcoin

There are no exact statistics about it especially when it's a decentralized currency, the mass media wouldn't bother showing it to the news because of their masters. When you read the news many countries and local merchants in china, japan, russia, philippines. germany, africa are slowly adopting it and accepting as payment.

It's not a sort of map that points merchants who accepts bitcoin. It's only a sort of list where there are names of merchants and their merchs. I barely remember that site so if I'll be able to remember it again and find it, I'll definitely going to share it immediately.
