Title: Cryptocurrency requires small spaces for discussion
Post by: bots1 on October 16, 2018, 11:45:52 AM
Based on personal experience, I was stupid about crypto but crypto made me curious and made me want to learn about crypto.

I tried to find discussion groups about crypto in my country but it was difficult to find them. I try to create myself with friends who like technology and we learn together about crypto. That keeps our knowledge growing when opening a small space for discussion with your friends.

What do you think, is a small space for discussion needed?

I wouldn't say that cryptocurrency requires small spaces for discussion, at least not in the physical sense.
The fact that cryptocurrency is decentralized, means that there's no actual need for them.

That said, I more than welcome different communities coming together to learn and talk about crypto.
There are a couple of such spaces in my country (Belgium) and they've done some really good work.

Recently a big Belgian newspaper published an article about one of these spaces and mentioned that they had successfully convinced some local shops to accept Bitcoin.
It's all on a very small scale, but it's nice to know that it's very easy to meet up with like-minded individuals.

Is your country not listed on the Local section[1] of this forum? You might want to check it out.

What do you think, is a small space for discussion needed?
This completely depends on you. A small discussion group might be beneficial for you but not for other people(if this is what you mean). I personally could see how it can be effective though. But if I were to have a small group, I would prefer it to be people I know personally.

It all depends on your specification. Some people learn better with like minded company, this doesn't have to be a physical relationship or mutual one.

Helpful videos and articles are made to improve the knowledge of the reader and listeners without a mutual relationship.
This is a crypto community and you can always feel like a part of it, cause you are.

Anonymity happens to be one of the features of this system, most users and investors really love communication with other users but not at the expense of their identity..

There are many reasons for that, one being safety and a bid to protect their investments through anonymity or rather pseudo--anonymity..

That being said others don't actually mind physical relationships, for example in my local community here in Africa,i do meet with friends a lot and educate them on the benefits of this system, ive actually introduced those mentally capable to have an account on this platform, while I place others on read mode till I can be sure they've learned enough to own accounts,i really do not want to be a godfather to spammers

I personally have learned invaluably on this system without knowing anyone, feels so great

Almost every country in the world is represented on this forum, that alone should prove that it simply doesn't provide a small space for discussion,if you actively stay on this forum and interact and contribute effectively there will be very little need for any physical interaction considering how delicate and fraudulent the cryptocurrency sphere could be..

The whole world is represented on this forum surrounded by legends who are more that ready for quality discussions anytime, its really a big space.

Discussion is very necessary, two people can be said for discussion, but must have a brilliant idea, there are already many topics in this forum about crypto, even almost all countries discuss crypto, you and your friends can discuss in our forum.

yes sometimes someone needs that small space to discuss, because when we discuss in a smaller space, we can focus more on the material without having to receive negative news that is not responsible, we better understand what we discuss

Meetings for discussion of bitcoin in small or large spaces will be very useful if used to add knowledge and to develop existing potential, so I think that space needs to be held

You didn't mentioned where you lived at so its hard to say whether you're in a friendly or hostile government. If you try to create a group for crypto discussions, I don't see anything wrong with that. Actually I'd say that its a good move on your part. You might see one day that your group will grow and at least you have help a lot of those who's willing to learn but at lost in the beginning. So yes, its beneficial and goodluck.

In the real life indeed only there was small space for cryptocurrency discussion because everyone in my country still not know what is cryptocurrency and although there was some people who already know it but seems they were ignore it because they still consider crypto is bad but i think nothing too worried about that because you can discuss and learn cryptocurrency through this forum and i'm pretty sure during that time people already increase their knowledge with joining some discuss

I would much rather focus on large group discussions on active online platforms, than having thousands of smaller platforms with inactivity. The only logical reason for smaller discussion platforms might be language issues, where people cannot speak other languages and they need a platform where they can communicate in their own native language.

This forum solved this problem, by adding sub topics for several different languages, other than English. A large user base have many advantages, over a small group of people. <Example : More knowledge = faster answers to difficult questions>  ;)

I believe one of the great aspects to crypto is its ability to be spoken about across countries, as it is the same irrelevant of your location or what language you speak. So as to small groups? I don't know about that in a tech sense but maybe in a physical sense?

Where do you live? if most of the people on your discussion doesn't have broad knowledge with bitcoin, you'll still stick to the large discussions and forum like bitcointalk.

Have you found a local board of your country here in the forum? or you can start with yourself and learn while you are here. And if you think that you had enough to share, do it to your local discussion.

We are still growing, so there will be a lot of community that is going to launch about cryptocurrency if you cannot find one in your country, then this is the right time to set up one or launch one for your generation and current users, thank you will thank you for that every country should have a forum dedicated to their local language.

Thank you for your positive response, I feel happy to express this.
I come from Indonesia but not in a big city, I live in a remote village and very few people know about crypto.
My country is very open to new things, even though crypto is not illegal but the government prohibits using crypto as a digital payment.

I am happy to have a small community now, even to do fiat withdrawals from crypto trading can be done with them because local ATM and bank services are far from where I live, maybe if there is someone with the same condition as me, you can create a community or small room like I did.

I am not sure that an actual discussion group is needed, but it is always nice to have a group of friends that you can talk to about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies even when you are offline, because I, too, have a friend I always talk to about everything cryptocurrency. It feels nice to learn about the digital currency with a friend, is it not?

Of course, a small space is needed to discuss crypto, because we can share experiences and thoughts, especially in the crypto world, if we invite friends, it is also very good, especially in that we teach about crypto to them so it should be implemented so that crypto can be known in anywhere and can provide an advantage provided we are confidently working on cryptocurrency.

Yes, crypto is something new and IMO, it's require some time to learn it especially for new people.
But generally , it isn't difficult to understand, as long as they able to use internet and a little knowledge about digital transaction such as Ali Pay.

I've told about 20 of my friend and they understand quickly without too much effort of explanation !

This site is the best thing out there for thoughtful discussion with like-minded people.

The only way more people are going to adapt cryptocurrency and be able to discuss with you is if they can clearly understand the tangible, immediate benefits it can have on their lives. Normal, regular people don't understand the terminology and they're so used to standard banking and comfortable with it that they don't feel they need to change their ways.

So don't discuss with like-minded people, discuss and inform people who know nothing about it.

They need to be shown that they will save money by using it.

There is no generalized rule but the small discussion is healthy in my honest opinion as compared to that of discussion in the large group. Cryptocurrency is still new and is in its basic phase of development hence starting from individual level is the best way to share the knowledge about Bitcoin and the crypto industry.

For me, I participated in investing in bitcoin along with a group of my friends. They are also a perennial investor, they have experience and new investment strategies and I can learn from them a lot. Therefore, I encourage you to look for friends who have the same goal of investing in electronic money to make a profit for discussion. Also you can refer to many investor ideas on this forum. This is how you have more knowledge.

It all depends on what type of people you have around you, for the first couple of years nobody in my work even heard about crypto.

I managed to get one colleague involved by buying ETH when it was under $10 when he saw it flying up that peaked his interest and got him involved in other coins.

He did sell when it went up to $40 and was happy with that but by doing this others got interested and starting looking into coins, although it might be hard to find people around you, all you have can discuss is keep talking an it it.

If all else fails you have us here.

I don't think you need a physical group to discuss cryptocurrency with. No one's stopping you if you want to, of course, and having friends to discuss it with is better, but a forum such as this is perfect enough to learn about bitcoin. Besides, the forum is available 24/7 whenever you need it. Sure there are spammers, but you can find great amount of useful information here as well.

I'm very interested to know the opinion of other people about the cryptoindustry, to learn from them the news of the cryptoworld. Its alright if you  create a small space for discussion, it may help you and the whole group to share and learn some knowledge about crypto it is important  to have knowledge when you are in  crypto. But if you have small space for discussio  it is important that both of you are open minded beacuse if not it will start not good discussion about crypto.

Cryptocurrency is gaining momentum but it is still unknown to many and if they do know, they do not know a lot of details. Some countries have a lot of likeminded people who've spread knowledge about crypto which allowed it to become payment options for certain shops and services. It is still a long way to go for until a cryptocurrency becomes more known to countries or people who've yet to learn of it but we can hope to see a change in the future.

It will be more useful to discuss cryptocurrency in a large group discussion on this forum. The more people, the more information you will get, because there are people with different experiences and they can give different advice. In addition, local branches also play a big role, because they help to study the cryptocurrency close to your mentality and how your country treats the crypto currency.

You're already here in a forum in which a lot of discussion about crypto,i think it os more than enough. If you want in your local language discussion then go to local board section. If you want more diacussion then do it to other group or create your own group outside this forum. It will really help a lot to all people that need to learn more about cryptocurrency.

Perhaps in order to develop in the field of cryptocurrencies you need to have like-minded people among your friends. You need to feel their support. In this case, you can develop together as a small group. That's good. But participating in a discussion with a large group of people on this forum will also be useful for you.

I think that you made a good point wherein small discussion that concerns cryptocurrency could be a good start to open with friends and peers. This small discussion within the group could open door for opportunity for some of your peers to get involved with the cryptocurrency technology and might consider doing investment as well. But before they would consider doing investment, they should perhaps learn more knowledge. Knowledge is an important key to  become successful with your investment goal.

actually there are still discussions about cryptocurrency and indeed only a few, many of which are discussions of certain coin groups. because of the discussion about crypto and blockchain, the scope is too large. although there really is, maybe the discussion is only temporary, and the rest is the story of each member and their own opinion

Well, personally I think small space for cryptocurrency discussion is not needed for a reason that every individuals have their own capacity and style in learning something foreign to them. Although this primarily seems a good idea but im not sure what kind of community you want to build. Whether it's a physical or a virtual one, it needs different type of approach. Then your country plays a big role on it. Also the goal of the group should be addressed beforehand and thus planning should be laid out accordingly.
