Title: [POSSIBLE SCAM] ETH Edge Capital
Post by: smil3y7 on October 16, 2018, 06:20:17 PM
Website: https://ethedge.io/

I joined ETH Edge Capital airdrop on October 1st 2018 (50 HEDGE airdrop - 1 HEDHE = $2.83 + weekly dividends according to your ETH wallet holdings).

Today I received an email from ETH Edge Capital, requesting to confirm my ETH address to receive my first HEDGE payout.

Email here: https://ibb.co/gj9gkf

After clicking on "Confirm Payouts" I was redirected to a website with form where I was required to enter basic info (name, email, ETH address, country) and confirm ownership of ETH address.

Payment confirmation form: https://ibb.co/kj7qd0

In order to prove my ownership of ETH address I was required to visit Ethereum Address Ownership Verification Portal which is most likely a FAKE MyEtherWallet WEBSITE!

Conclusion: When using MyEtherWallet, always visit website from Bookmarks and always make sure that you're on the right site !

This definitely looks like a scam.

They did a very nice job on making their fake MEW website look almost identical to the real one but you should take note that the mouse over url redirects you to a different url that attempts to make it appear legit. Also, when you check the site certificate you can see it was issued from GB and MEW is based in the US.

There's certainly too many red flags here to ignore so don't bother with this airdrop they more than likely want to steal your private keys.

This is scam alert! Their site is not MEW! myẹtherwȧllet.com

two symbols are different ('e' and 'a' from other language)!
Do not send any informations from this site to the scamers!

If it requires the private key to login, you bet its a scam and a phishing attempt. You really can't trust any emails that lets you login to a link they gave. Its better that you type the url yourself. Bookmarked pages are great, that means you knew its the site you have been before. A team of scambags hiding on airdrops.

It's 1000% true. Intruders
at night we went to the wallet and tried to withdraw money. But so far that has not worked is a gang of thick-headed bastards. It is necessary to create a warning on Twitter and in all communities on cryptocurrency that this is a SCAM.

Ditto.

Interestingly I left the tab with the link open in safari overnight, when I came past it this morning it had thrown a warning about the site being possibly fraudulent. This doensn't occur on reopening the link however.

Signed the requested message through the actual MEW, shouldn't expect any tokens though I suppose haha

:) EOSGAS, EOS..., Surety, Kinetic, Anatomia, Flash Blockchain, ... and I could not remember how many cases like this I have ever seen. The general feature is BIG BENIFIT. And participants have lost money because of their greed.

I just received an email requesting me to send  0.1 ETH to an address.

this is the text

Dear xxxxxxx you can now claim your HEDGE tokens

HEDGE tokens worth $141.50 + your referral tokens are ready to be sent to your address. In order to deal with the high volumes of traffic we have received, you must send 0.1 ETH (approximately $18) to our contract address first to cover the gas cost of distributing tokens.

Please send 0.1 ETH to:

0x0Fcff19D293a50CA03446100C3957e886043D147

In return you will be sent $141.50 (+ referrals) in HEDGE tokens. Use gas limit = 200,000.

The first 1000 users to claim tokens will receive an extra 25 HEDGE tokens worth $70.75.

We have set up a buy wall at Binance and Livecoin. This means the price of 1 HEDGE token can not drop below $2.83 / HEDGE. We are again sorry for the delay in distributing your HEDGE Tokens.
