Title: Where do you go to buy bitcoins?
Post by: smartbitcoininvestor on October 18, 2018, 04:20:30 AM
We all know of the importance of having cryptocurrency, particularly Bitcoin, however it is not always clear where they come from. Here in America, my friends and I use Coinbase (https://www.smartbitcoininvestments.com/coinbase-review/) to purchase and sell Bitcoins, Litecoins, Ethereum, etc. We can also use Coinbase as a wallet and it accepts bank transfers as well.

I have a few friends that use LocalBitcoins (https://localbitcoins.com/) to meet up with locals in Los Angeles. I think this is inefficient since it can be time-consuming, however, there are some good deals and you can trust most of the sellers. I've also heard good things about platforms such as Kraken (https://www.kraken.com/) and Changelly (https://www.smartbitcoininvestments.com/changelly-review/).

In an effort to help the community, where do you personally go to purchase Bitcoins?

In my country the situation is pretty stressed up when it comes to buying and selling of the bitcoin. RBI which is central authority here has warned he local banks from denying the services to the crypto related bank account holders.

So we have only one option to trade and invest into the bitcoin and thats LocalBitcoin. I cant even think about the trading of crypto currencies into fiat currency directly as it would be tracked down and could lead to ban over accounts.

Now recently I am intrigued with the news that Unocoin one of the exchanger in India has now overcome with this situation by placing the ATM's in India. So I guess thats option #2.

Over in my state I use LUNO for purchase of bitcoin, it also serves as a wallet similar to Coinbase. You can store bitcoin, ethereum and even fiat (my nation currency).

So far it is safe and reliable, but requires identity verification.

I usually use coinbase due to its ease of buying. I did try coinmama too few times back then and was satisfied by their service. Though keep this in mind that using credit cards to buy bitcoin means paying for higher amount of fees. Sometimes the fees might seem absurd. So its better to buy through p2p using localbitcoins or any other alternatives.

COINBASE is the way to go when purchasing bitcoins. Most trusted, been in the game for years now... I wouldn't reccomend buying elsewhere just because its so secure.

Correct!! the situation in India has been worsened by the statement release by RBI and has made it really difficult for the people to undertake any crypto related transaction. Zebpay the most trusted crypto exchange in India was forced to shut down and that was a massive hit to the Indian crypto market.

And I was to also mention about the UNOCOIN, India's first cryptocurrency ATM launched in the city of Bengaluru. Right now the limit imposed for deposit and withdrawal is just 1000 INR, but still it's a shining ray of light for the crypto community.

It is a one bold initiative by the virtual currency exchange overruling the RBI's orders. Read more about this @ https://www.thenewsminute.com/article/india-s-first-cryptocurrency-atm-launched-bengaluru-90117

Here in my place I bought bitcoin at coins.ph but most often happened was from the bounty rewards which I received it from the campaign, every time I sell the token of course automatically converted at once on my bitcoin wallet balance. But never experience yet to buy it on localbitcoin.com which I probably heard most of the time.

Yes your bank account will get banned, if your bank account recieves funds from Crypto exchange or they are able to track the fiat source. But, only Private Banks are creating such issues. If you are using a Goverment Bank or a Co-operative Bank there is no problem As the law states you can trade Cryptos, which means you can still recieve/send funds. I have been using SBI and have not faced a single issue.

Currently, there are two ways to buy Bitcoin, the most widely used are: buy on the exchange or buy bitcoin from friends or personals. If you want to buy bitcoin at the exchange you can Buy bitcoin on automated trading floors or intermediary bitcoins. One way to buy bitcoin is to buy it from relatives, friends. Because,  relatives will be more reliable than a first person to cooperate without the basis, the sure information to trust 100% of that person. As a result, the percentage of fraud also decreased significantly.

You should buy Bitcoin at reputable virtual show floor to avoid scams or buy from friends and relatives. If there are no relatives or friends hoarding Bitcoin. You can buy from other individuals or organizations. Consult with previous buyers to see how they evaluate the quality of the transaction, how reliable it is and decide whether to initiate a trade.

In my place buying bitcoin is like purchasing in a grocery store its very easy and simple process and you can get the bitcoin instantly after payment because the site that is using by the majority in our country which is coins.ph has a lot of partners like 7/11 store, remittance centers and banks, localbitcoins is also active but the price is much higher.

While we can't access coinbase here in my country, I usually use changelly since I use coinomi to buy bitcoin or other altcoins likely the fee is affordable and transaction was fast. It also cater shapeshift.

But normally, people buy in a convenience store and remittance center as well and directly stored in our local wallet.

I prefer to make transactions in local exchanges in my country. That in my opinion will be much better and much safer. If something happens then I can do a much faster action. Instead of not trusting a large exchange, but for me that convenience will be a top priority in making transactions.

Sometimes I visit on his house and in that moment, I can directly buy bitcoin from him. But I also have a good seller from my country in localbitcoin if my friend was offline and so far, both my friend and my seller have a great service.

I trust local exchange and never experience to buy in person because it is more safe when you used an exchange. Also you can order from what price you desire to buy to get good volume. I do not want to be scam by people around me. Using exchange can give the exact volume of the amount you are paying.

In my country, there are several alternative places to buy or sell bitcoin. One of them, and perhaps the most popular is in INDODAX. In addition there are LUNO, and several new exchangers. It looks like more and more new exchangers will emerge, hopefully with the addition of new exchangers. Later it will make it easier for us as a bitcoin community  :)

In the last 4 sessions, the market has tested this level on three occasions, but without finding the strength necessary to close above it. Yesterday ended in negative, with the price falling from 6,735.6 to 6,613.2 dollars, down by 1.82%. After the failed attacks, the market is now retreating and if the correction were to extend below $ 6,500, pressure from sellers could rise further.

I buy BTC on CEX for GBP (https://cex.io/btc-gbp). Sure, I've heard about the exchanges you've mentioned but I was looking for the one which would accept British pounds. It's not the only reason why I've chosen this particular exchange, though. I was amazed by the security that it provides, even though sometimes I can't stand their extensive verification process :) I think, every trader will support the idea of security being the highest priority.

In my country there is a lot of issue going on between exchanges and government, due to illegal transaction. Before I was using zebpay but due this issue we are not getting proper response from it so now I am using Wazirx.

if I have fiat, and want to buy bitcoin, then I always go to exchangers to buy bitcoin, in the form of vouchers, then I convert my voucher to bitcoin.

and it's easier, safer, and very simple.

This depends on the country you're in and the laws they have regarding cryptocurrency. Depending on this we can determine what would be a viable option to buy bitcoins from. In general there are a lot of crypto exchanges that you can choose from to buy bitcoins like, binance, coinbene, kraken etc choose whichever caters to your needs.

Once you have a Bitcoin wallet, you use a traditional payment method such as credit card, bank transfer (ACH), or debit card to buy Bitcoins on a Bitcoin exchange (example: Coinbase). The Bitcoins are then transferred to your wallet.

I bought btc and eth from changelly..u just need a couple of photos ready : your ID (back and front) and sometimes a photo of yourself holding your credit card (but hiding the 8 middle number of your card for security reasons). and of course you need your wallet(s) to be synced and receiving addresses ready etc.

there are many way to buy bitcoin, sometime i buy bitcoin in some exchange systerm, or from any market.
i use my token to exchange to BTC too, so many way we can buy bitcoin now. Bitcoin is everywhere in internet and in the world.
That's right, but if I were to buy bitcoin on my friend, because there were so many friends who mine bitcoin and they would also sell it at a low price. so I prefer to buy at my friend because the price is easier than on the market
I choose to use local exchange where I know that is more safe than buying on people. There you can choose the most potential coin and analyze the market chart also. Sometimes you can set your order and choose what price you want to buy. I invest not only in bitcoin but also some altcoins which has potential even for trading.

I go to a physical exchange because I feel like it's the safest way to buy and sell coins. It works similar to a bank. You give them cash and a QR code and they send you coins. You wait a few minutes for a confirmation and it's done. You get a totally anonymous transaction and don't risk that your account will get hacked or that somebody will try to scam you. In a physical exchange it's impossible.

Earlier I used websites, like coinmama, where you can pay with a credit card, but than I realised, that the fee is just too high. Lately I am using a small exchange in my country, where I pay with bank transfer. It has the disadvantages too, for example price can change, while the Fiat money gets there (1-2 hours) but still this is much cheaper, in average the fee is about 2% only.

Great topic, many people just go to Coinbase or any other of the bigger ones just due to "flock behavior". Don't do that!

In order to find the right place to buy Bitcoin, or any other cryptocurrency really, you need to find out whether the exchange in question fits your needs.

We at Cryptowisser (https://www.cryptowisser.com/) has developed an exchange finder-tool called the  Exchange Finder (https://www.cryptowisser.com/). In it, you get 6 questions that you answer, and then you are matched with the exchanges matching your input. Do you need credit card deposits? Are you a US-investor? Highest acceptable fees? Cryptocurrency you want to trade? Those are all questions that the Exchange Finder helps you sort by. Alternatively, you can find the relevant information in their Cryptocurrency Exchange List (https://www.cryptowisser.com/exchanges/).

Check it out!

All the best,
Cryptowisser

To be honest I used different platforms to do so, all worked fine. 6 months ago I even paid with bitcoin for a property in Italy https://tranio.com/italy/ that was for sale with a special condition that you buy it only with Bitcoin  :) I love that it is all over now and more people are open minded and into this currency!

I personally never bought Bitcoin with Fiat. but for Exchange transactions, I see Bittrex, poloniex, coss.io, Hitbtc etc. are supporting the purchase of bitcoin with fiat via credit cards. but I often buy Bitcoin for my friends on local exchanges. because in my country is a pretty good bitcoin exchange.

In Indonesia, we buy bitcoin in the bitcoin VIP forum, there is also a trusted digital currency market, many token tokens are popular there. And the security is also very guaranteed, rarely in the forum where people lose their tokens, because their privacy is very well maintained ...

I personally use Coinbase,
which is the biggest and most respected Bitcoin platform in the United States.
It offers both an exchange and wallet in one,
making it one of the easiest places to start with Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the number one crypto currency, so you can buy in exchangers that you think they are trustworthy and easy to use. Before that you have to be knowing more well and good about the project.

In my country, Localbitcoin is still the most effective platform that we can use to buy and sell bitcoin. Coinbase is not operating in my country. Others optional platforms are apart from Localbitcoin are; Luno and Remitano.
Coinbase still has more work to do to extent it operation to many countries. This is their major limitation. If they can achieve this, they will come to be one of the platforms to buy and sell the major coins.

So far until now I only buying bitcoins (with my real funds/fiat) only on my local market exchanger called Indodax, it's required to do the KYC to be available for Deposit, Withdraw and Trade in exchange (as far as i know). It's very user friendly and it has a Live Chat Support, in case if we have some inquiries and problem about something regarding the exchange.

I'm located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Southeast Asia is pretty illiquid when it comes to depositing fiat to buy crypto or vice versa. So far only peer-to-peer platforms works. I was previously using Luno (before they got shut down here), and now I'm using Remitano. Pretty easy to use, no issues so far. Anyone else here uses Remitano? Curious to hear about your experience trading there so far!

There are many sites that offer to buy bitcoin. But many of them are not trustworthy (account blocked for no reason, bank transfer that never comes, etc..)  ::)

For large amounts what are the most secure sites to buy bitcoins ?
Where would you buy $100,000 of bitcoin in total confidence?  ;D

You should try binance. It is also good, fast and convenient.
