Title: Bitcointalk forum ranks question.
Post by: pame_gera on October 18, 2018, 03:49:56 PM
Hi all,

i have read around about bitcointalk forum ranks and according to this post (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0) i should be now rank Junior Member since i have 31 activity.

A few days ago when i had 30 activity i was rank Junior indeed. Why is this happening now?

Does anyone know what i need to do to acquire Junior rank?

Thank you for your time reading this ,

Regards.

I guess that you've missed the note from the start, so I'll post it again:

Ranks

Update on 9/19/18: Merit points are now added
In addition to the activity points, merit points (click for more information) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0) are required to advance your ranking. You will need at least 1 merit point before you can be a Jr. Member (click for more information) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5030366.msg45810047#msg45810047).

Basically the rules have changed not long ago and the users without at least one point of Merit have been demoted to Newbie.

Maybe not posting so much in off topic part of the forum will help you in getting merit, if you post constructive/helping/interesting topics or replies.

You need to learn to read carefully and stop asking questions that are answered several times already in the past.

Quoting a line from the post which says that you should be Jr. member by now:

You will need at least 1 merit point before you can be a Jr. Member (click for more information) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5030366.msg45810047#msg45810047).

Don't know what a Merit is? Here:

Merit & new rank requirements (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0)

And please, read the entire post very carefully and don't ask a question in future that is already answered in that thread.

Thank you so much for the heads up. I was so sure that i was already a Junior member that i missed to read the update and read just the number of posts.

You are right but i am still a newbie and not so sure that i can write a constructive post. I prefer not to write "noise" in the other subforums where more serious matters are discussed and tried to aquire the junior rank in the more "relaxing" subforum

I think you are a bit harsh on me. You cannot know in how many forums i am and how much i try to find answers before posting a question. NeuroticFish who gave the answer above even with higher rank than you was more tolerant -which i think you will agree- is a virtue specially when you do not know exactly the person you are talking with. I understand your harshness though , from my small experiences (being creator/admin in other forums) there are many people rushing to ask and so i seem to be me here. My apologies for my error to miss the paragraph and thank you for showing me the 'merit thread' mate  :)

Thank you for your time reading this.

Regards.
