The U.S. jobs boom, which saw a record 7.14 million unfilled positions in August — coupled with last year's bitcoin mania — has resulted in a 300% increase in the number of jobs related to bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, and blockchain over the last 12 months, according to new research from jobs site Glassdoor.

Despite the bitcoin and wider cryptocurrency market struggling throughout the year, it would seem from job openings that both established and startup companies are taking the possibilities of bitcoin, cryptocurrency, and blockchain seriously.

I really think it's really a great news for us. Because of this company who are in need of people in their bitcoin-related company they are encouraging people to acknowledge the capacity of bitcoin. I can see the future now. :D

What are the jobs exactly? I don't think that cryptocurrency is creating jobs on it's own, People could of course pay your salary with bitcoin or any cryptocurrency but I doubt that crypto could be used other than a currency.

This is indeed good news! It only mean that many companies are now starting to ise blockchain or creating their own. Crypto industry will open more job opportunities in the upcoming years. It only means that the world is now starting to acknowledge cryptocurrency and blockchain.

The percentage of blockchain and crypto related jobs are increasing due to the start ups. Majority of those start ups are running ICOs to fund them and continue with their business only after they are successful. So the study couldn't capture the entire picture in holistic way.

However, the only great feeling about this news is that the blockchain and crypto related job opportunities are increased in organized sector as well. Companies like Ernst & Young,  BCG and similar companies are recruiting blockchain developers and consultants. Even though there is not much business opportunities available for them at enterprise level, still they are keeping themselves future ready!

The amount of crypto startups is overwhelming. Considering its benefits coupled with the fact that more businesses accepting crypto as payment, it's only going to grow from here. All businesses are going to have to implement blockchain tech just to stay relevant. The more digitized their goods and service offerings become, the more successful they'll be.

It's not just the startups with ICO's that are becoming apparent, but those that provide crypto-related services working to make it more user-friendly and secure. (wallet app developments, etc.)

I wonder in what area these jobs really are, there are bound to be a lot of jobs for specialists in a variety of areas, think lawyers, accountants, compliance specialists and many more. That's discounting all jobs that are even directly involved in the creation, development or adoption of any cryptocurrencies.

It will surge because people have now seen it is the future and they are putting more money into it and also integrating it with their already existing industries which is helping them. 

hopefully, there are hopes risen by this singular news. Jobs boom inline with cryptocurrency startups will go a long way to accommodate applicants of various level of degrees not only Lawyers, accountants, developers e.t.c. Hope that the government will look into the arrears of employment provided by this industry to accept it implementation.

This is not new, even last year there was a projection that crypto related jobs will boom in the coming years. So I'm not surprised by this reports. As this is the latest technology, obviously, only a handful has taken and offering courses about blockchain so its not yet saturated. The stats are not surprising when you consider the USA is like the "promised" land for any startup, lol.

This is pretty good. The U.S. could led the way with this new technology later, who knows - They are certainly on the right path to do so right now.

They are of course smart people if they can see the obvious truth and adapt accordingly. In fact, there are many possibilities to Bitcoin and Blockchain we don't really imagine right now. I believe the world will be pretty different in around 10 years.

Ths is a new field and more pioneers are venturing in this new technology. Also, most area of expertise is needed here, to incorporate the blockchain technology and harnessed its potential in any areas in our society. Blokchain indeed is a game changer which creates and open opportunities to everyone.

Bitcoin and Blockchain has created an earning opportunity for many in the US. It has created direct investment opportunities with the blockchain technology and trading of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin and crypto jobs are surging due to the rise of Startups industry and they are using this blockchain technology to make their transactions and ICOs are relying on this tech to build their idea and try to attract investors to reach their hard cap level. It is certainly a great news that people in US are really thinking about this thing and as a powerhouse of the world, if they want to accept it, other countries will certainly have a positive look into Crypto and its vast area.

This is very nice. I am particularly glad that this type of news is coming from the US itself where the SEC who appears to be indifferent to Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies also resides. I hope this positive impact of cryptocurrency in US will make SEC to support the Bitcoin project without further reservations.

So they're not much different from typical tech companies, which isn't all that surprising considering the fact that they're also in tech.

People seem to think the SEC will play nicer with crypto as a whole because it provides employment, but I doubt that. It's out of their mandate. The directive to ease up would have to come from higher up. It's kind of like how ICE has ramped up its operations vs. illegals under Trump despite no change in laws.

Bitcoin is not that crypto currency that is always been criticised as I still remember the time of 2009 when everyone was in against of bitcoin and were calling it a scam and now the time is that bitcoin is now considered as a boon for the humanity and now the same people are praising SATOSHI NAKAMOTO for such a great invention and now bitcoin has also started to be accepted in many places and this is very happy to feel that in US bitcoin and Blockchain jobs are surging.

Blockchain will provide employment for everyone but I do not know what the specific job is, I'm wondering if these companies will survive or not?

Blockchain and cryotocurrency is one of the future jobs that will engage many people.  As adoption increases,  job competition will also increase and probably be one of the highest paying jobs.  This is indeed a great opportunity . The blockchain has done alot  of good and will do more of it. 

Yes, growing demand of Blockchain is seriously making big difference in job market. Also, there are a lot of freelance workers who are working remotely from different areas of the world.

this is positive news for the crypto industry, finally we are able to provide positive benefits to the wider community, providing employment opportunities for many people. On a more serious note blockchain and Bitcoin has made a lot of change since inception , many are now working as freelance and some as a remote worker due to blockchain technology, which has help most countries to reduce the level of unemployment and also making people out of poverty and now government need to thick of it's success and not because of selfish interest go against it.

Generally in U.S. the regulations for the Bitcoin is very high. But how you are saying that the job for Bitcoin and blockchain is surging. Blockchain is the best technology that represents the true democracy that why only for blockchain based jobs may be possible to increase.
