Title: How to setup 120v to 220v step up transformer for Bitcoin Mining 🤠
Post by: jabby on October 21, 2018, 05:15:17 PM
I did not see any videos on how to transform our 120v to 220v to run the 220v asic miners or bitcoin miners with. This is a quick How to setup 120v to 220v step up transformer for Bitcoin Mining

Here is a link to the vid for a step by step instructions.
https://youtu.be/z687NvetttI

Do you want to run a bitcoin miner or asic mining machine in your house with 120v but the asic miner need 220v to run? Use a  120v to 220v step up transformer for Bitcoin Mining with ASIC or GPU power supply. In this video we will go over How to setup 120v to 220v step up transformer for Bitcoin miner psu.

If you guys have any other suggestions for videos let me know and I will be glad to to it.

I am sure someone will need this(for some specific reason), but I feel like if you're spending nearly a grand on a miner, you would at least install a 240v outlet.

Good intention trying to help people,
but it is more reasonable to simply install a new circuit with two hot wires + earth.

--> 220V 240 V outlet.

Yes, much better to add 240v point.

A couple of reasons why you need 240v is ,one, you need more power (240v provides double power at same current) or, two, more efficiency (PSU at 240 more efficient than 120).

But if you use a step up transformer, you are still 120V at the wall, hence no increase in power as your current limit stays same. And losses in step up transfer would negate efficiency gains (I think).

Thank you guys and yes I agree, adding the 240V on its on breaker is the best way to go no doubt. This was just to help for people who do not want to go that far.
