Title: How to gain weight?

I'm seriously underweight right now at the age of 21. I'm unable to increase my diet, and still wish to get 1-2 inches increase in height and gain more weight.

Any tips?

You cannot grow 5cm anymore.  You are stuck with your natural height.

Either you gain fat, or you workout and gain muscle.  Women prefer muscle.  :)

You can't grow height once you're an adult. If how tall you are is something you're insecure about then you should wear shoes with a higher heel or something, but height is only something you will care about and nobody else so try work on your confidence which is a much better fix for this. Why are you not able to actually increase your diet? Is that something to do with medically or can you just not afford to eat more?  Anyone can work out just by using their own body weight and that's something you should be doing if you want to get bigger, but you will also need to up your protein intake a little but without knowing why you can't eat more I probably can't give you any more specific advice.

So how I did it was to increase the amount I ate with each meal. Every time I ate I only stopped after my stomach felt like busting open. You gotta eat a lot of and often. Eat things like peanut butter between your meals.

Eat more carbs, such as rice, pasta, bread, sweets.. But best of the best is to follow 5 times a day meals (with right calories balance). And proper workouts. It will make your muscles heavier with no fat. Good luck!

Well I'm 5 feet 7.5 inches, and have entered my 21st year literally this week. No way at all to get to 5"9'? :'(

I don't think you'd get any taller since you're already past that age. To gain weight, just be lazy and eat a lot of cake, donuts, chocolates, and drink a lot of Coke.

I think at the age of 21 the increase in height of a man stops. Gaining weight for most people is the problem of majority , but i think gaining weight is just easy , just eat foods with high in protein to have muscles and more calories and have also regular exercise to maintain it daily to fully gain weight. Drinking milk also will help someone to gain weight.

eat a lot of lean meat, cooked beef,lamb etc. drink plenty of water ( real water not flavoured water or fizzy drinks or energy drinks) if your working out which i recommend, add protien shake to the water, or drink a mix of milk+protein powder.
eat natural foods with no added shit, for example, boring plain food with no added additives like sugar etc
examples of this could be:

breakfast:
oats+milk (add fruits for flavour and sweetness or cinnamon)
boiled eggs ( not fried)

lunch: protein bar or salad with tuna, try to get tuna with sunflower oil, the fat will help you.

dinner:
BOILED chicken breast or fish fillet haddock mackerel etc with SWEET potato (purple potato)

bedtime: cottage cheese and protein shake.

doing all the above + excising will help you increase your weight, you could always just eat plenty of junk fried food and get fat, but if you want real weight with muscle then do what i`ve mentioned and it will be fine.

remember you do not need to go to the gym or own a gym to get fit add weight or be healthy!

staying at home and working out is easy too, stick to the diet, do 20 press ups 3 x a day to work your upper body,
do 20 sit ups 3x a day to work your core
do lunges at home or squats with something with your hands ( a full milk bottle or something weighing 1kg+ would be perfect)

p.s you can not grow any taller after age of around 20+

Well, envy you, serously! I am doing wichever possible in order to loose weight. Yet the best decision, I guess, is to eat meat and go in for sports to gain muscles and not to become fat.

I suggest doing exercises which would help with your appetite and you should eat often and a lot. When I tried to gain weight I ate till I'm more than full and between the meals too. Peanut butter and Nutella helped me a lot. Might not be the healthiest way but if you keep exercising it will keep you balanced.

You cannot grow in height anymore , but you can still gain weight. You should eat foods that is high in protien and drinking milk also is one of the source to gain weight. A proper exercise will also help you in gaining weight , most people wants to gain weight and they go to gym so that they can build their body and witha proper diet is a big help for them.

Have you tried putting potatoes in your pants? It can increase your weight and also make you look more ballsy!

weight everything you eat everyday
after 2 weeks you don"t gain weight, add 250 calories /every day
go to the gym and do deadlift squat and bench

if you're bench and squat is going higher you eat enough, it it's not .. eat more and more

While your problem is having weight.mine is the opposite because i really need dieting,if theres only a chancd that weight is transferable then i eill donate all that i have lol

Maybe you may consider going to Gym and take some protein

Or also find some friends that happy eater because for sure they will bring you alwsys in restaurants and fast foods lol

Dude this worked! I'm just eating what my mom cooks and you know mom? it has always been delicious and 2-3 plates guaranteed for every meal.

Other's problem is on how to gain weight while me and others are looking for a way to reduce weight. Well, base on my experience just do nothing except eating, sitting on computer and watching TV's.

Exactly, there's no better recipe for gaining weight than what your mom is giving us.

However, if someone really needs or want to gain weight, simply eat a surplus calories, 500 more calories than what you are accustomed to. And then go to the gym and lift weights.

Also focused on more proteins, lean beef, fish, eggs and milk are the best source.

Op is not looking for muscle instead just to gain weight so its not appropriate to discuss about metabolism,the best advice he might  listen is to find sets of people or friend to be with and find those who are eaters,the people that always wanted to eat so he will be used to eat more than usual

Are you maybe suffering from a Overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) or any other health issue? ( I just read the OP post so i don't know if this came up before me)
You should see a physician if you haven't already, and if everything is clear on your blood work you could try those weight gainer bulking supplement shakes.
Or if you want to gain weight naturally eat a lot of avocados and other (good) fatty stuff ,nuts are great as well.

I don't know about height but to gain weight you gotta change your diet, maybe you are not eating enough. Find food that you would've love and eat them. When you put food on your plate, make sure to finish all of it. Avoid having left over.

I envy those people that has fast metabolism, right now I can eat whatever I want but you know the consequence. That surely will make me gain weight.


That's usually how it is for most people. Want to gain weight? Eat a lot. Though i agree that it sometimes isn't healthy and there are people who can't seem to gain weight even if they eat a lot. Sometimes it's some disorder that needs more attention from a doctor or a nutritionist. Don't force it.  Sometimes you have to take suppliments and vitamins as well.

Boiled potatoes or fries, fast food, eggs, milk , Rice, make your weight gain. moreover shake of banana or shake of dates is also good to gain weight You have to take it daily 1or 2 glass.

Gaining weight is so much easy for me. I suggest to all people that are not contented because they are thin, you should eat a lot in breakfast and lunch then after that try to sleep at least 4 hours and then eat again for dinner for sure it will just take a few weeks to see the changes.

doing this work will definitely helpful for you to gain weight because if you work hard your fat and calories definitely reduce and the possibility of gaining weight was very very low that's why I am saying to take rest and do less work.

I think some people naturally had their weight to be reduced so we cannot change them by using something and it is the natural thing so why we can change the weight by giving something and in my opinion going with the nature is always giving you to the good future.

gain the weight is little bit difficult for that you need to eat lots of calories then only the fat is increased in your body it will gain your weight but eating lots of food will be difficult so you must need to be trained for sometime.

Depends on what fat you should intake. You should get healthy fats from avocados and nuts.

If you wanted to gain at least 1 lbs every week, eat 500 calories more, meaning you should be in surplus always. For skinny person this might be a problem that's why the recommended method is 3 healthy meals then protein shake in between meals and of course, go to the gym and challenge yourself every week so gain muscle.

I don't think your height will increase anymore coz you're already an adult. But you can do something with your weight. Eat proper and healthy food and go to the gym.
