Title: What Do You Look For In A Trade Bot??
Post by: Dr Charles on October 24, 2018, 01:39:01 PM
Simple question... We are currently developing a trade bot for multiple exchanges and I am wondering what are the top things that people (who use trade bots) would like to see in a trade bot. They could be things you currently enjoy with other bots or things that you would like to see your current bot have that it does not have.

If you are currently using a trade bot, please note what bot you are using for reference.

Thanks for your feedback!

Well API options are definitely a top priority I would say, gotta be able to connect and run the bot on the top exchanges out there...Binance, Bittrex, Kucoin, Coinbase ect...I would say the more api options available the more attractive your bot would be.

Then I would look into what kind of strategies are offered, I have seen ping pong which seems to be a standard strategy offered by all bots but then there are bollinger band strategies ect.

I think that if you guys could find a niche strategy that you show is proven to work if configured correctly it would set your bot apart from others.

I have used several bots in the past...Hassonline, Gunthat Gunbot and Margin but I quit using them really and just ended up signing up with coinigy. I found that botting is a pretty tough commitment and would rather trade less and hold more.

Good luck with your bot

I appreciate the feedback.  API's, Trade strategies and having a backtesting record are top for us right now as well. Currently looking at the strategies below for beta implementation.

-   Mobile Buy / Sell
-   Volume
-   Over / Under
-   Dust
-   Timed/trailing Buys
-   Timed/trailing Sells
-   Interactive Fields
-   Auto Refresh Orderbooks
-   User History / Open Orders
-   Exchange Arbitrage
-   Live chart data / Calculators

Am I missing anything?

It is still in the process of being built but it wont be a license based model. You can follow this thread for more information in the future if you want.

Multiple trading methods, just like in gambling we see different types of Martingale, a trading bot should have multiple trading methods. To be honest, I think the theory behind trading is kind of fucked up, there is no an absolute truth and is just another bet where we need luck, but it if we use the right trading methods and have the right luck we could hit the moon. That's why I would like to see all the possible different methods in your bot.

We of course will have the most common trading methods mentioned above but we are also looking to build a trade environment similar to tradingview where users can import trade strategies of other users on the social platform.
