The stock market is now experiencing a good collapse. Last time such a collapse affected the crypto-currency market. Do you think the collapse will affect this time?

I don't think so and there is no connection between the both, but they will find solutions to minimize the risks they have gained on the stock market and therefore this allows traders in the stock market to switch to the crypto market.

IMHO it can fall if it will be total panic on the stock market, but not for a long time. We already near the bottom.

Not sure about that and have you seen a sign that showed if there was a relationship between the crypto and stock market? As far as i know the collapse of stock market will affect the sentiment of the speculators and investors in the cryptocurrency. that gives a little impact but it doesn't give a direct impact to the crypto because it's not having any correlation on the development. crypto is really different compared with stock market.

I do not think that someone will be able to accurately answer your question. Because any answer will be simple fortune telling. Now there are a lot of fake analysts who call themselves experts and try to predict the behavior of cryptocurrencies, but due to the fact that now it is a very speculative market, because large volumes of Bitcoin are in the hands of exchanges and they move the price.

There is hardly any connection betweek stock exchange and crypto so i do not think there will be any effect rather i think that crypto is an alternative for traditional stock and investments so if any uncertainty or recession occurs in traditional stocks we may see investors moving from stock to crypto that can give crypto market some nice boost.

Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies don't have a direct or indirect correlation to the stock market.

Last year when it crashed btc was in bull run. This year both crashed together.

No mate. They have whole different reasons. Crypto market as of now is growing and going down on speculation and hype. Stock market is completely different. I don't have much info in the stock market since I don't trade in there but I've been following it a little on the news and has other reasons

Of course yes :). Stock market affects a lot to crypto market :). Everytime when stock market fall or rise, it also affect to whole crypto market as well. I think this time it's not an exception, maybe BTC price is going to fall down to $6k and ETH price will be lower than $200.

Most of the time, Stock market affect crypto market during the raise and fall but this time the chance is small because I don't think Bitcoin price will drop below $6k.

to my knowledge it has never affected this market, specifically the altcoin market in any ways. the altcoin market is 99% pump and dump and it is only moving based on that. for instance right now we are still in the dumping part for about 60% of the market and there is absolutely nothing that can change that.

if anything a stock market collapse should lead to a bitcoin price rise, although as i said i don't think it has any meaningful effects since bitcoin is a global market not restricted to one country!

nothing is impossible, and it is possible that we will know that almost all coins and altcoins experienced a fairly steep decline this year, then there were a lot of ico scams that disappointed many investors,

The crypto market is in a deep crisis. It happens continuously and irregularly, no one can predict. But I believe in the near future, the crypto market will soon stabilize and rise again. The fall is groundless. If that happens, it will be a long time for a more modern alternative market.

As long as the investors are there, the currency won't die. The features of the crypto is of the future, so even if the current currency gets closed, the same type will emerge and it's a must. So no worries.

It is occurring right now and it has been affecting all of the investors.

The market won't fall and its just getting started. Big players are just coming in and we can't say that there's no adoption. Crypto's are being talked by the medias and its getting attention regardless on how they are publicizing it. Every correction has its opposite reaction and rise will come soon.

I don't really think there is some connection between stock market and crypto market, rather crypto should be an alternative for traditional stocks and investments, so if we see any uncertainty or recession in traditional stock market, it might even happen that investitors move to crypto market which would be great because new money would get enter market and we would definitely see a rise in whole market.

The stock market and the crypto market are completly two different thing and their system is also different. No matter whatever happens in the stock market, it will not affect the crypto market. The only way it can affect is that the crash in stock market creates a panic in the investors of the cryot market who fails to see the difference. Besides, the crypto market is already down.

Crypto is different in comparison to the stock market. The collapse of the stock market will effect the sentiment of the investors and speculators in cryptocurrency.  Which gives little impact and no impact directly to crypto as it has no connections to the development of it. But with the future nothing is for sure what underlying factor would severely effect it.

I don't think it would hurt the cryptocurrency directly. Indirect affection might take place as the companies losing money might resort to cryptocurrency and trade them to stabilize the economic status.

It is not related actually. Obviously there will be some effect in the market and if people try to invest in bitcoin, that might be a good thing.

Probably wont of course. this is very normal in the world of crypto. This is just  like a rollback of a wavesplash and will be back with greater tsunami  surely next year.

I think this time the market price will goes down,the cryptocurrency will not affected because it is normal that the price was goes ups and downs.But as a followers we are affected because what is in our mind is that it is already the end of cryptocurrency.

The stock market fall is not necessarily vital to crypto. But yes, a decrease in dollar might raise bitcoin price. With the loss of share, people will start buying other commodities and bitcoin is a very good option at this moment.

In my views, I don't think it has any relation between cryptocurrency and stock market as it has different form of market investment. If both markets had experienced bearish trend lately, it would have been just coincidental and with the current situation of the crypto market, this seem to have another major adjustment that could be in preparation for the next expected bullish market that may occur soon.

Yes of course, there is certain permeability among all the markets and the economic perspectives are bad for all the sector and countries, so crypto will be there impacted too.

I think if stock market (not forex) not really affect for crypto, but it will be different if fiat market that can cause impact for cryptocurrency. Even type of trading is almost same, i don't think it will have impact for crypto.

I think there is no such relationship between the stock market collapse into cryptocurrency stock exchange because when we base on the current inflation of crypto in 2017 which bitcoins reaches closer $20,000 USD, the stock market has no relevance of increases or decrease in forex exchange and to the economic stability.

In my country, the stock market has been crashing so bad since crypto crashed too. Maybe the world is in a current state where crisis is rampant everywhere in the world. Maybe at some parts of the globe, it isn't but on a major percentage of the pie, I am very positive it is.

To be honest I am desperately waiting for a bull run and want to see the change in market. Yes we are noticing continuous drop in market and I believe this might slowly recover very soon and skyrocket again. All the major crypto assets are being controlled and won't be sold in panic. We've never seen the real purchasing power yet. We could see a bit of it when a week ago the price of btc was pumped by almost 20% in less than an hour. Could you imagine how much money it might have cost?

In any case, the global economy affects all industries. If people lose money they have nothing to invest. We work from investments. So of course all this will affect us.

Did you mean with collapse is the destruction of the crypto currency so that it has no value? I don't think so, the crypto currency market is constantly falling in price, but there are still many out there who will put it back to invest when prices recover. It takes ten years for cryptocurtency, especially bitcoin, to be known by everyone, I think it will be very funny with some regulations and market conditions now making crypto currency collapse.

IMO the market will be retaining this bear market situation for quite some time but not to the point where it will fall or crash severely. There are no new investors coming into the market and the remaining ones are either pulling out of the market or just sitting on their bags waiting for the pump.

well i think theres another collapse in near year end and hoping the bounce after new year. its really affecting the market and most traders are incashing out preparing for holidays coming.

I really dont know. Maybe people will take their money from stocks and they can enter crypto space. Or maybe they can exit from stock and they can exit from crypto market too.

It will affect it too because a lot of people who are investing in the stock market are also investing in the crypto market and when the stock market crashes then it is bound to affect their finances and what they put into the cryptocurrency market and hence it affects cryptos too but it will only be temporary like before because the market will recover

I am sure that the cryptocurrency will not disappear, but the market will fall because the cryptocurrency should actually cost less than now, so you need to be patient and wait.

Most likely it could have been a coincidence that during the stock market fall,  cryptocurrency had also experience the bear market and I believe it is not directly related. In the current scenario,  cryptocurrency is in a stable condition since it's btc market value just played between $6k to $6.5k for several months already. Most people are hoping that it could break such resistance and surpass the existing value. This will only happen once the bullish market will come  before the year ends.

Almost all coins +10-20%. But, I strongly believe that will be -20% during next week.

Usually the stock market and crypto market are different, stock market falling wont affect crypto market directly but it will be affected because when the stock fall down the investors will pull out their money and some of them will put it into crypto, but this behaviour only going to be lasted for a while, when the market heal, the investors will be back to stock, so its not the rising that we want

There is always an impact on all of the markets when the stock market has some kind of crash going on which means that the cryptocurrency market is affected when there is a price crash in the stock market. This will affect the cryptos but it will only do so for the short term and then in no time the cryptocurrency market will be bouncing back

I think by now we have seen what the impact is, since the collapse of stocks last month, crypto market suffer as well, but with just minor dent on the price. So there's some correlation but its not greatly as big as others might has trying to picture it.


That's what we have been speculating for years. There's this theory that stock market investors will suddenly shift to crypto if ever there's a huge dump or a crash in stock market. But so far we haven't proven that theory because continue to bounce back after a crash.

In my opinion when stock market crash, there are will be possibility the investor and trader will move their money in to Bitcoin and gold. So this is will make impact to crypto market. I just checked the market cap of Apple (the biggest stocks by marketcap) was decreased and the investor has possibility will  move the money in to Bitcoin and others coins so crypto market has potential will bullish again.

I don't know which country's stock market you are talking about. The US stock market is now fleeing. Now the government controls the big capitalists, otherwise the decline will be more serious, and retail investors will quickly flee. No stock market can grow indefinitely.

There is a strong correlation between stock and cryptocurrency markets but it happens instantly and there is no lag at it. But as we could see, just after dropping there always was a correction and crypto-market came back at before dropping price levels.

It could be possible, but we don't know yet. We need to prepare if somehow it gives the effect to the crypto so we can save our money in crypto while we can wait for the price is at the lower price. And when the price is down, we can buy a lot of coins from the market and hold it until the price can increase higher. I think they are not comparable because they are separated, stock market movement is not fast as crypto, and I think crypto market is being played by some crypto whales and this bitcoin price fall is just their game.

There is actually not much of an evidence for that, except for the fact that psychologically, we all know everything is driven by supply and demand in a market and it is always bound to see investors and traders taking the next line of action as there is never a dulling moment. When the crypto market started correction actually, we all saw money being pulled out from the crypto market and one way or the other, we saw the stock market growing which in that case, money definitely was being pushed into the stock market. Whether these are gains from the crypto market, no one can know, but one thing I know is that the same whales and big institutions that drive the market to their favor are in both markets, so one way or the other, we can just assume this is something that is plausible.

It's crazy, everything is falling madly. Bitcoin in just under 2 hours has fallen below 6000$ and this is probably the end of all our hopes in 2018.

well, we can't avoid some collapses. this is what forms the market after all, and some things that holds crypto back vanish during those collapses, it's a way of cleaning i guess ;) no need to be upset

Yeah right, the value falls below 6k$ and might possible to go below, its now between strong believers and panic sellers once more, if panic went much stronger the bearish will continue dragging the price down, needs to close my apps and stay away for a while chances to go down is stronger I guess

To this day I have not seen any signs or lines of connection between the stock market and the crypto currency market. If it happens simultaneously, it might be a personal accident at the same time. Bitcoin has dropped to touch $ 6k, it is not impossible if the next 2 days can go back up to $ 6500. Not a strange thing. 8)

I think the collapse you mean does not affect this time. Because, to my knowledge that the stock market will affect the increase in the price of Bitcoin. Until yesterday, the price of Bitcoin fell by 11%. For the rest I don't know because I am still reading and learning about market knowledge.

That is usually what happens most of the time. Investors tend to look for a market that is more like a safe spot at the moment for an easy buy in for store of value when they have taken profit from one market. The stock market is overbought and due already for huge correction and the crypto market is oversold and due for huge reversal of trend, so in a way, let's just hope that investors will definitely see the space as the next spot for them as the case may be when it comes to the movement of the crypto market to the upper side. We all know while the stock market has been moving up since the beginning of the year, the crypto market has just been getting pushed down and to me, I see it more like transfer of wealth from one market to the other. I don't see any relationship of the stock market to the cryptocurrency market at this moment. As I know, the fund of the stock market is just for them and the fund of the cryptocurrency is just for them too, there's no relation to their price even the bitcoin's price go down, stock markets price is still independent and vise versa.

The market has just collapsed, but people are still believing that the market is going to recover till the end of this year. I find it silly and do not understand why the bull run should start if the market has lost 1/10 of its capitalisation within one day.

People are always saying that stock market affects cryptocurrency. Please that’s a lie. Cryptocurrency has nothing to do with stock market so stock market can never affect the cryptocurrency market. Cryptocurrency market is completely on its own and its being influenced by the investors which is true speculation and manipulation or as we would always say—rate of demand and supply.

I think there is no connection with crypto and the stock markets because crypto currency is not interacting with these centralized things because crypto markets is independent and it's just a coincidence for the crypto market and stock market to go down at the same time because crypto is crashing because of many reasons which I could not explain.

The stock market is just too old, tok big and too stable to be affected by the super small cryptocurrencies market. I think yes it will effect crypto as well. We already can see some price drops in amazon apple stocks and same time bitcoin continue loosing value. So i think there is some relation between tech market and bitcoin prices. That is very interesting. But about global crisis maybe it can effect crypto good. The bottom will be found if XRP is declared a security and G20 members agree to create a world digital currency based on blockchain but without the insane electricity usage and scaling issues. Something new based on XRP or XLM.
