First time posting so please bare with me if I make any mistakes. I am relatively new to the crypto space, but I’d like to learn more and talk to some people who have a lot of knowledge in this field. My excitement around crypto started during the epic rise of bitcoin last winter, I explored the different fields of crypto starting with mining, investing, and then the fundamentals of how blockchain works. However, I still do not know all the nitty gritty details of what is needed to develop your own alt coin. This has led me to my latest thought experiment/ project. I am in the processes of developing a social media platform that gamifies social media posts using a leaderboard functionality. One of the main problems with the current social media climate is trying to be seen through a sludge of pages. Our goal is to create a platform that allows users to upvote/ downvote posts and reward engagement to build out a leaderboard specific to allow better pages to be seen. Ideally this will be a platform used by people looking to self promote with a clear path from no followed to a massive following. Now, where does crypto come in? The latest idea is to create our own coin which will be used to promote your page. These coins will also be used to donate to other users for specialized “perks”. Some perks could be as a “subscriber” to a certain user, or a donation could allow for a direct message to a high profile personality; etc. Lastly, we have been looking into crypto as a funding method with our own ICO. So....I would love to hear some input from the community as to the viability of this idea. Also what might be needed to develop this and what needs to be prepared for a self promoted ICO. I am located in Boston and would be more than happy to sit down with anyone locally! But it will make new posts cannot appear in leaderboard. I think it should have a catalog to sort posts. The latest idea is to create our own coin which will be used to promote your page. These coins will also be used to donate to other users for specialized “perks”. Some perks could be as a “subscriber” to a certain user, or a donation could allow for a direct message to a high profile personality; etc. Regarding to cryptocurrency, I think these features is not really attractive to own tokens. As Steemit, they encourage users voting in order to earn STEEM. As Minds, users can pay MIND to pin their posts in main board. Anyway, all new ideas need time to complete.
