People are calm, but slowly some of us are loosing their cool. With the increasing number of crypto scams, few countries putting a ban on crypto currencies and the stagnant price of BTC at 6-7k mark, it has been a tough and tiring year for Bitcoiners!! I mean last year was fun, with bitcoin hitting 20k. I wonder when BTC will stand up again and bring back the glorious days. Hoping for the best.. Cheers

If you're only enthusiastic about the glory days then it's almost impossible to thrive in this system,its been said a thousand times already that the network is highly unpredictable and volatile.

2017 was a really profitable year for the system with bitcoin reaching a new high,but since the beginning of this year,the price hasn't really been anything to write home about

Losing your cool right now wouldn't be of help to you nor the system,actually this happens to be the time to capitalize on the low price,and purchase coins awaiting a pump

We really don't know when it will happen again. Maybe after the next bitcoin halving or so. The fall from 20k really tilted some investors that were greedy and now crying for their loss but I'm pretty sure that after a decade or 2 it will even surpass that amount.

We just have to wait for that moment to come and be happy with our investments.

Sometimes we need to spot the perfect time for us to cash out and enjoy our profits. Don't let greed cloud our judgement.

Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are not an easy field for earning money, yes, it would be a profitable investment but it needs some proper knowledge or education and more patience in times like the current situation when the trends are going down and the bearish market is staying for long.

The only key to make you survive in crypto market is that you need to trust the project and the coin you are holding with. Don't easily discourage if you know it for yourself that the coin you are holding has a very great potential.

This year is a difficult year for bitcoin investors. lost capital , as bitcoin prices continue to fall. Most investors are not profitable from bitcoin. but I advise investors to keep calm. what you are missing is that not all the history of bitcoin (10 years) have been the big rises. it only happened for a portion of 2017 and it happens from time to time. other times however, the price is stable or rising slowly. and now is that time. it in fact is still glorious to see it stable and be accumulated to get ready for the upcoming rise.

Though it takes long to get up high as it has last year, we do not have to give up on crypto because there is always a recovery. Price is not always on the top because it is volatile, and we have to expect everything on it. Some banned bitcoin, some are accepting and adopt bitcoin, as many projects getting scams there also good projects that need to support and earn from it.

Stupidity,you only see the fun and enjoyment because of price growth and when the market starts dropping you called it tiring?Get lost noon crypto dont need someonelike you whos the support is for the gains,and not in losses.

Why are there many who conclude this is a bad year,opportunities like this are good for us to push again at the market.The value of BTC does't always rises there is a period of decline and that is the characteristic of crypto everyone should to know that and everyone would want to see the value up but must to think about several factors too.

We should use this time to take positions and get tokens that are on the cheap. At a time where equities are being threatened, Crytpocurrencies might just be the safe haven.

I would agree that this year was unexpected, but hey, lets look at the bright side.

[1] Perfect buying opportunity for everyone specially if you are here for the long haul. Coins are quite cheap and you can really be a bagholder if you wanted to.
[2] Majority of us haven't seen this kind of movement, so its a lessons for everyone, we need to be flexible and adjust our strategy.
[3] Emotions, number 1 enemy of traders, but at this point, we don't need to be put our emotions because sooner or later we will know that the market will bounce back.

With that said, we should be intelligent and be a smart investors. The market has given us opportunity, its just how we are going to react to it to be successful whatever sentiments (bearish/bullish).

Are you the one who is losing cool? You're the one who doesn't make sense and making remarks only with the price. If you really would like to support the cryptocurrency, you should get some more. People should educate and research for themselves if they are willing to send their hard earned money to a scam or something.

We all want it to have a higher price, but we have no control over it so it's better to do what you could control, which is yourself and become calm.

Indeed this year was not fun anymore to see bitcoin price because there no more increasing price and no more reach all time high but sometimes i was wondering that when people says they want bitcoin stable and i think in the several months bitcoin price remain stable but they are complaining about the current price

Yes coz bitcoin is on sideways we might see a positive result incoming months so hodl strong. Many traders are calm and positive coz the wall street are here to stay might as well give your self a long patience.

I think now the market allows for real projects to take focus rather than riding the hype. Bitcoin is still strong and developing, the future is bright for us but gonna take longer I think.

This is patience testing thread. Market is already 70 percent low than previous year and still previous year investors are calm.

yes, I agree, because of the many scams, so Google and social media prohibit advertisements containing ico, it is very unpleasant to wait for almost a year.

Im a January 2017 investor of sorts and im calm. I am getting frustrated with the frustration
shown by others who are not patient. Some people really expect the markets to constantly rise
into oblivion which is not of course going to happen. Those people need to realise this.

Yes we need to be patient and calm for waiting for increasing the value  of bitcoin in the market and don't lose hope, be positive and believed one day bitcoin will surprise you a big profit in your investment.

I think that with the current condition of the value of bitcoin, staying calm is the best attitude we can do, hope that bitcoin will return to 20k. because every pleasure there is a struggle process that we must pass. Bitcoin can!

I think and believe that in the near future the situation with the price of Bitcoin will change for the better. Now we see that there is a large number of small positive news related to crypto currencies. We have also been in the flat for a long time. we were celebrating when the price reach up to $800 back 2016.  now that it has reach more than $5k, it should be a wonderful decade for the holders since the beginning of BTC. there are more reason to be calm than to panic. but if you have bought your btc by the time it hit its ATH, you should have panicked already since january, panic can sometimes result good profit.  ;D

The reason we're waiting here is, of course, to come back for those good days. But this doesn't happen very quickly, it seems.

Don't lose your hope in trading.Just hold your bitcoin till the end of this year with some patience. I don't calm because I invested about $10000 in cryptocurrency market but now my totals invest reducing and reducing...so I don't calm and quite . always tension and tension, when market will comeback...

Yes 2017 was roller coaster for bitcoin and everybody profited from those massive movement in BTC price. But this year has been difficult as the price has never risen beyond 8K. The situation is confused and frustration to the traders and holders of BTC. There are always the price rally toward the last quarter of the year and we are expecting this year not to be different and so they will be rally from this month till the end of the year. We are still need to wait until the day comes that the shines bright again for bitcoin. Maybe some of us are loosing their  patient in waiting  but thats the only way we can do. Those countries that are putting ban to crypto's doesn't mean that they will never adopt bitcoin. They can ban it at any moment that they want but they can also change that when they are ready. It's normal to see countries that aren't going to adopt crypto because even in the beginning people are skeptic to it.

But now that bitcoin has a great value and its price keeps on growing, people are noticing on how valuable it is. Last year was fun because of all time high but don't forget that bitcoin is volatile and people who are staying knows on how the market can recover anytime.

I stay with who stand.  ;D I join bitcoin when it is less than $1000 so it is still high for me, If it can reach $20k, i will count it as bonus because i hold already long time and if i want to take profit, i can take profit whenever i am.

This was not the best cryptocurrency year on many fronts, but there are lots of positives to take from it.
It's vale has dropped steadily since January, but has stabilized over the past six months. And wide fluctuations have greatly reduced, also the price has held off at a much higher bottom than previous years.

The issue of scam (mostly ICOs) and hacks has increased but have always been present and not directly linked to bitcoin.

The price wouldn't be change anoymore like 2017, so bitcoin hodling is not something great today.. Glorious days with the altcoin markets now.
And also i want to say something about the scams; the people are helping the scams with their money! There are lots of people who try to invest in bitcoin/altcoins and ICO's without knowing anything! They don't know anything about cryptocurrency or the blockhain system. Also they are not aware about how to really use a wallet or its safety.. So if there are many careless people arround ofcourse the scammers will scam. I am talking to you newbies, please learn first and then study hard to avoid scams. 

Dont look at bitcoins weekly's or monthy graph look at its graph from the start and you will realize that bitcoin market is not bad, imagine from no value - 6-7k as of now isnt it good for you compare to its value before?

If peoples like us stop believing bitcoins than i am afraid we can never see the days when bitcoin stand up and bring back the glorious days. We all need to have faith in bitcoins and bitcoins will surely show us some good benefits ahead. Most of the peoples who are been engaged with bitcoins have made immense profits untill now and holding bitcoins for now would not matter them a lot.

I think scams will be part of the market. I'm not saying its good, but we should learn not to trust blindly or anyone for that matter. The price is stable, that is correct, but it can go either way. Just one positive news and everything will changed in matter of hours, believed me. So don't say that its a tiring year, anything can happen in a blink of an eye, so you better be always stay alert.


2017 was really unexpected and yes was fun, madness and everyone was celebrating when we almost hit $20,000. Hard to say when will Bitcoin goes up and touch new all-time-high but I'm sure that we will get there, just a matter of time.

I think, people keep calm because they are confident in the end of this year the price Bitcoin or the price of other altcoin will rise again as last year, but in my opinion it's not going to happen at the end of this year but will occur by the middle of next year. So keep calm.

Though its very hard maintaining your cool considering the downtown and stagnancy if the bitcoin price but with time we will get over it. This year has not been that great for those that bought in at the end of last year, overall though I think it has been a positive year for bitcoin and blockchain with many companies taking it seriously and gently edging towards this new technology.

bitcoin is not some free money giveaway that you can make money from it from scratch! even if you want to invest/trade you still need money to invest in it and make profit on that. you can't do it from scratch. even mining requires money for equipment and has costs like electricity cost. and even if you earn it still you are working to get paid.
as for "rumor" bitcoin is not that easy to pump and dump with news and rumor from outside.

Cryptocurrency is not being regulated. As we all know, Bitcoin and Blockchain technology is developing to much larger scale. Government do not have problems with ICO and cryptocurrency. Their only problem is that the economy and market will fail as to lose or control. Scams happen due to the "easy" investment, which only require trust and reliability. People who actually "invest" or "buy" off scams do not have clear idea of ICOs and Blockchain.

if you have trust in BTC, you should not worry even a bit, also, you should know that that $20K was a hype - nothing normal. So, don't worry about increasing scams and keep your BTCs in cold storage and wait up if you really trust BTC.

If a lot of fraud occurs in Crypto then we should not put all the money we have into it. For a matter of price, everyone knows that bitcoin is not always above, there is always a turnaround that sometimes makes us a little surprised. If every one calm you will see the market pump again and as soon as possible the price of the bitcoin recover again. Maybe more than 20,000 dollars will hit again the price. Don't panic to see the price up again. Stop panicking right now and start buying more bitcoin again.

I guess people just like to keep finding a problem when there is none and then as a result they get themselves emotional and worked up when they should be seeing huge opportunities instead. Those who are calm know the main reason why they are because they are not busy focusing on the short term and they see a lot of development and huge growth coming in the long term, and instead of losing their cool, they would rather prefer to lose their cool on trying to accumulate as much as possible, because believe me, it is until later people will realize we are not even close to mainstream adoption yet.

I am not sure what losing your cool will help you with eventually, unless to get your brain and blood hot for no reason, get your heart pump more blood than usual and then at the end, you just do yourself more harm than good. This is a market, corrections are a normal and healthy thing, and if you have not been able to put your head into the game already to know that this is also an opportunity to be accumulating than to be getting unnecessarily worked up, then you will really be having yourself to blame in the long run for losing your cool for no reason at all.

Crypto itself in very early phase till now and still a long way to go.Few days back bitcoin completed its 10 years and in 10 years it has almost created a revolution.Mass adoption is still pending.People and government is also realizing the importance so regulations banning etc etc have already been started in many places and these things will continue.But once people get to understand the crypto and its importance adoption will start kicking in double rate.Just have to wait and watch where things go.People who believe are calm and enjoying the bear market as it is one of the accumulation phase and know that crypto world is very volatile.Soon we may see some changes catalyst and market will turn bullish.

This isn't the first time to happen if you can just try to look its history. So, it's normal that things like this happens because cryptocurrencies really fluctuates in an informal way. About crypto scams, we can't control with it because it happens that developers can freely create project which it really looks like legit and this is the hardest thing to know. Bitcoin and all other alts are stable are almost of them are about 80% lower than their all time high. This means that in near future we will see a boom in the market as the stage of set of a big pump and a bull market will return.

As much as i wanted to have a very healthy cryptomarket teeming with luscious green price of digital currencies, i also wanted some other countries to realize how significant cryptos are for the betterment of their economic growth.

actually they are not relaxed they just try to stay calm and try to stay patient but when prices fall deeper they will feel very depressed and certainly emotions will not be able to hold back emotions because of the losses they experience. maybe those who experience a position like this are those who are stuck in bitcoin prices when the price is $20k.

Yeah. This steady price isn't as bad as many assume. I mean, things could get worse and we may go well below our current value right? It's easier to stay calm in a steady situation than when the market is sharply dropping.

I think in 2019 we will see a good price for all coins, all coins that have a legit project. I will wait until then and i will get more crypto coins and i will hold until i think they grow enough. I think the most of people who hold crypto coins waiting for a massive grow, and only some sell their coins.

It will become a holy grail if bitcoin keep going up the way it is last year and this year prove to us that bitcoin is a really assets and if we can treat it as a very important assets there is no way we would not make money from it.  In blockchain technology we would find financial freedom from the kind of of fraudulent system we have before and we should expect that governments and those big financial institutions are not going to fold there hands to see that kind of system move smoothly.
We should not think that this year low is a dump but we should see it as a big corrections that is going to clear ways for the next bullish trend.

By the end of this year there were many who predicted the market would be pumped, but I wasn't sure about this. yesterday I saw the market grow but red again.

Would you rather if people were running around screaming fire? Of course we are calm, we are used to this by now. Bitcoin always goes up and down and bitcoin always stays stable between the swing times. There is no need for panic and certainly no need for a call to arms. I am honestly starting to think maybe people do not want the best for bitcoin, sometimes I believe people just want bitcoin to crash and burn so they can be rid of it and continue their lives.

Hell even I feel that way sometimes, my life is so attached to bitcoin that sometimes I feel like I am the prisoner of bitcoin. However no matter what, we are here and it is us that will decide the future of crypto currency, not governments, not regulations, not banks. No matter what they try to do, if we want bitcoin to go up and buy for it, it will go up, if we feel like bitcoin had its time than we will sell and it will go down.

I also even not shock as what I have seen that Bitcoin price having stability mow I know there is no temporarily in crypto later on it will change, so the best thing to do is wait patiently the bear moment in the market. Tighten your seatbelt hold as long as you can we know that Bitcoin price was always swinging so there's a big possibility that it will raise up again like what happened last year.

Whether this year has been tiring or not depends on your perspective, to be honest I found the year of 2017 a lot more tiring than this one, I say this because in the previous year you needed to watch the market every day for as long as you could because you didn't know what the market was going to do from one moment to the next, in the other hand this year has been very easy there are some variations in the price but for the most part it has been very stable.

China banned crypto trading and I suppose till that fact will not be changed the prices for crypto will continue dropping. As I know for now they do not plan to change anything about this forbidding, so we may wait for very long time.

this condition will be different when there is good news and when the market conditions are crowded there will be a lot of people who will be in the exchange place and there will be many people talking about bitcoin.

I guess after the ban from China bitcoin is still stable between 6k to 7k usd and it has been 6 or more months since this happened.

Calm attitude can only be done, by people who still have high enthusiasm, are full of optimism and usually always think positively. I agree with you in part where you talking about emotions. When are we emotion driven, we will more likely lose part of our investments. We should be more contrarian to others and buy when everybody selling, and also sell when everybody wants to buy.

Yes it shows people are waiting for the best turn which bitcoin can give like 20k last year. But we cannot guarantee 20k this year but can hope around 10k.  Surely the people who are in hurry and not calm those can suffer when BTC price increases in the market.we should be ready for all good and bad in the market this shows people are Calm.

People are calm simply because the price is calm. Also don't expect to have a hype every year. You can't expect a continous hype in crypto market. As if no one would take that advantage and you did the same.

Waiting isn't actually tiring, it's just you. We have waited for how many years to get there and we can wait again if that's how it goes without getting bored. You are free to leave anyway if what's happening right now seems boring for you.

I think the OP must know that not always the price in the market will be in a positive condition continuously. in the price history of bitcoin it is also mentioned that the price decline will inevitably occur, as in 2012-2013 the price collapsed, and then in 2014-2015 the price returned recover. prices will definitely return in a positive trend again, keep you hope high

I think you are not included in someone who is calm as you said, in fact you always ask and want market recover. A person who is calm doesn't think the price of bitcoin changes and decreases too deeply, even most of them expect the price of bitcoin to decrease by more than $ 6,000 because that time is a good time to buy. Yep, the last year was fun, but we must realize that last year was a bubble because many people who invest depend on FOMO, then when there was a lot of bad information came, they just throw away all the money.

Yes I am totally agree with you, the increasing number of crypro scaam today has a huge impact to all of us. One single mistake could ruin the reputation of cryptocurrency in one country. In addition, the price of it this year is always in down fall and all we have to do is to wait for it to rise again. well, I think the demand and supply of it has a big reason for it that is why it is always in the low price.

We are still in a good price as far as I am concerned, as I believe mostly that there is a lot to come for this market in the long run and for the fact that when this market reach the level of mainstream adoption like we are seeing already with the way some projects are popping up, I believe there will be so much to be thankful for when the time comes.

To me it seems as if we already saw the worst, the market has already crashed, most of those that were holding their coins already sold them in a state of panic, so the people that remain are a lot more calm as you say but they are able to endure all of these bad circumstances that are surrounding bitcoin because they know that in the future they will obtain great benefits out of it.

Asides OP, I want to believe a lot of people who entered newly at least last year, by now would have realized that this is just a phase of the market and it will happen again, but by then, it would probably be a different level, a different price in the high perspective anyway, and for that reason we all know simply that one way or the other, the price will definitely recover. What is just lacking for some people is patience, as the main reason they got into this space in the first place was to get rich quickly and that really deterred their judgment.

Price being calm and moving sideways does not mean that people are calm. A lot of people are still eagerly waiting for some action in the market, either up or down, and as far as I am concerned, that is not calmness. When it comes to investment, anyone who is not calm now and just be patient enough to wait for the future.

Plus, see the level at which this entire crypto space is going to grow, will just end up doing themselves more harm than good when it comes to the opportunities they may not be taking advantage of now. Everything is usually all about how you are able to play smart in every single situation that comes your way and see how you can benefit from it than complaining and whining.
