In order for a new company/miner to succeed they will need to be priced lower per gh/s than Antminers. On top of that, a larger device needs to be priced better per gh/s in order to be attractive. I could order 5 Antminers for 5.55 BTC, around $3400 at current prices. Two weeks from now, I expect that this will be below 5 BTC. In order to convince me to go with an unproven miner from an unknown source that doesn't ship for two weeks, the price would need to be near $2000. |
