Title: Rank changed from Jr Member to Newbie
Post by: Wikadin on October 30, 2018, 12:33:05 PM
Why my rank is changed from Jr Member to Newbie. I didn't post from month and a half and my rank is changed. Should I do rank increasing by posting 2 posts per week to get again Jr Member ?? Or there is any another way to get back the rank?

System has changed already as you need merits to rank up. Check this page https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0

2 posts per week ain't not working anymore, you will have to gain 1 merit to be a JR and then goes up to the Legendary. The better you posts in the forum that will lead to helping users, the higher chance you get merits.

While you were away, a new rank system was implemented.
Jr members without a single merit were denoted back to newbie. That's why your ranked dropped, to return to Jr member you need at least one merit.
And to do that you need to make it a habit to read, (it wouldn't have taken you long to see the post regarding the new rules)
And this post is more suited for meta board.

Follow what the posters above me said,

Cool project! Go ahead!

I think you need to improved the quality of your post and not just one liner "Cool project" stuff. It has nothing to do with posting 2 a week, it has something to dow with the quality of your post to get at least 1 merit to rank up to Junior Member again. The question is, are you up to the task?

You took one of the first of my posts. I have some qualitative posts, but it is very hard to get Merit, you suppose that your posts are good and helpful, but nobody appreciates  them :-[ ???

Thank you! It is getting harder and harder to get higher rank

Why my rank is changed from Jr Member to Newbie.

Because this forum comes with something new and appreciable system called demerit system. In this system 1 merit is necessary to become a Jr Member and 30 activity too. This step is OK for the Jr member and makes some trouble for newbies or brand new. But the next step after that was taken by the forum Moderator is to derank those user who have zero merits but they are still Jr Member their activity count does not help them to maintain their rank as Jr Member.

Should I do rank increasing by posting 2 posts per week to get again Jr Member ??

Onward now the numbers of your post either it is two or ten will not help you to rank up unless you make some efforts in writing a quality post.

The specific trigger to the change of rules, and the subsequent demotion on non-merited Jr. Members back to Newbie, was/is the amount of posts that are created on a daily basis that have little to no value in the content, primarily (but not exclusively) originated by the lower ranks that enter the forum for a quick buck through joining campaigns. While participating in campaigns is each one’s prerogative, the way they do it has become a concern to the forum, and in order to reduce overall nonsensical spam, it is now necessary to earn at least 1 merit to be able to bear a signature.

The post that serves as the basis for the change is this one: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5030366.msg45810047#msg45810047).

If you think ranking-up to Jr. Member is a difficult quest, imagine what it is like for the higher ranks that require hundreds of merits to reach the next level, and the effort and persistence it requires to do so ...

The information you provide is very useful and my knowledge of the forum on the bitcointalk increases. I've been confused with Jr. Member ratings turning into Newbies, and now I understand why Jr. Member's rank has changed to Newbie.

Because theymos wants to remove or prevent shistoster or spammer in this forum so, in order to do it theymos decided to change the rank requirements for jr. members from 30 activity points only to 30 activity points and 1 merit. When a jr. member don't have a problem earning merit won't be too hard for them to rank up to jr. member again.
