Title: 473 Days Building a Helpful Free Crypto Site Directory - Need Help
Post by: Loki11 on October 30, 2018, 06:44:10 PM
Hey,

I am trying to build something good for crypto community, because I am a trader and crypto enthusiast.

In my free time for about year and half I am building a site with a lot of links that I have collected during the years of my crypto involvement in trading.

I want for site to stay completely free whit no ads and without any aff links, to help crypto community to grow and learn faster.

Now I am on the edge and don't know if I did include everything can you guys give me a bit of help if I forgot to include anything or should I throw out something because it is too much...?

Please give me any suggestions that can help me and whole community with this site http://cryptolinks.com/

Thank you very much

Nate

Very nice website and great effort. Are these stored in terms of popularity/highest usage etc and do they auto update of the ranking changes?

That's a simple yet very informative website. I like the styles and how information is arranged on the cards. Great, you're doing it with the intentions of helping people without the advertisements money. What I felt your website lacking is the section for Crypto-Mixers. You can list down the legit crypto mixing services and add them in one of your sections. :)

You should also have an indication with a red tag for the websites which currently have open scam accusations against them. It's hard to manage that but you should be doing it.

That's really a cool site, thanks! Contained lots of websites I didn't know about  :-[ :P.

A suggestion: You probably want the site to stay as simple as possible technically, and so you may not want to enable something like a wiki or forum. However, link sites often suffer from lack of updating after a time. As Patatas already suggested, there are sites/services that could be labeled as scams. Other sites may disappear.

I would thus suggest a feedback feature for every site. I've seen you've included a review feature where you can reward a site up to 5 "coins". Besides of that, you could enable a button "Site doesn't exist anymore" and another one to report scams, and a general feedback form.

The site is pretty awsome! I really like it. It's free use site but what is the problem with adding advertisement's banners and get some earnings (this will help pay costs for hosting and researches) ?
I can note two lacks; a section or another card for projects declared scam, another section for projects news and updates (like meetups and product lunch...) so a user dosn't need to look at all the news magazines.
I think it's mandatory to hire some stuff to keep updates.

A great collection of crypto related links in one place, great for beginners, but also for those more experienced. I notice that you have links to cryptocurrency mining, we all know how this is work and that most of these sites are just scam projects. I also notice you not have any section for faucets, even some may say they are waste of time, but nothing more than cloud or browser mining sites, so I suggest one category for faucet lists.

Regarding making some income for your site, it is good decision to not use crypto ad networks since most of ads are advertise scam sites/projects, but I do not see why not use your ref links for exchanges or hardware wallets, or any other legit site. With such income you can improve your site and keep it ad free.

Great Crypto directory.
I have some questions. What's that email subscription form at the bottom of the website? What kind of "top news stories" are you delivering to your subscribers?
Do you plan to add cookies and abide by the GDPR law?
Good luck with your project,OP!

Thank you for comment. About ref links at the moment I don't want anything to make people experience blurred, because I want to give something back to crypto community, honestly I made quiet some money out of trading, so with this site I want to give something back to crypto community and to help others. Because if we get a lot more of people in crypto we will all grow.

The site is pretty awsome! I really like it. It's free use site but what is the problem with adding advertisement's banners and get some earnings (this will help pay costs for hosting and researches) ?

Thank you for comment. Yea you are right that could cover my costs, but problem is I hate banners :), they make my site look like shit :). So at the moment I want my site ads free, I will try to gain my money through trading ;).

Thank you for suggestion about scam projects, that is thing I will have to take into consideration.

About meetups I have a section http://cryptolinks.com/blockchain-events

Great site and useful links, many suggestions that I want to come up has already been raised but I have one more request if the sections will be sorted alphabetically for the ease on where to look into.

And one more question on all sections is that based on ranks or based only on your preference that it is at the top? I guess it will be more professional looking if all are sorted alphabetically, but this is just a suggestion of mine. So far it is a great addition to me and also to all enthusiasts in cryptocurrency, thanks for this.

... and I thought I had a lot of bookmarks, nicely done!

I didn't see a "live stream" section, so I'll (insert shameless plug) suggest my own to start it (https://www.twitch.tv/magicalcoffee)

Your list is an excellent place to send folks to "learn more" about whatever peaks their interested instead of having to guess at what aspect of crypto they'd want to involve themselves in.

Fills a niche nicely.

Wow, amazing website! To the bookmarks. I was looking for crypto websites directory for a long time, but haven't found as good as your website is. Some directories that I found weren't updated for a long time, others listed too small number of websites.
I want to give few suggestions. First of all, about gambling websites. I think you have to remove 1xBit from your list. It's well known scammy bookmaker, you barely can find positivereviews about it. Another thing - prepaid debit cards. Spectrocoin don't have debit cards since the last year and they still didn't found new provider.
And few websites which you can add in my opinion.:
https://coingate.com/ Coingate - crypto merchant service. Maybe it's not as popular as Bitpay or Coinpayments, but it;s reliable service in market since 2014.
https://www.coinpayments.net/ Coinpayments - one of most popular merchant services.
http://preev.com/ Preev - Bitcoin,Litecoin/Doge price tracker. It's very basic website with limited functions, but it's one of firts choice when you just want to check current Bitcoin price.

Thanks for making this website. I'm not new to crypto, but I found so many interesting and new to me links which will be helpful for me.

Awesome suggestions thank you very much, will definitely update some sections and add sites, I work every day on the project to make new updates. By the way:
- preev - is in this section https://cryptolinks.com/crypto-calculator
- coingate - I only added their blog(https://cryptolinks.com/cryptocurrency-blogs) so I have to add their service
- coinpayments - I only added their android wallet(https://cryptolinks.com/crypto-calculator) so I have to add their services too

Again thank you all for your suggestions and if anybody sees something missing or have a critique, you are all welcomed! Because I want to offer the best thing for all crypto users traders, beginners, merchants... to make our crypto life easier, better and adoption faster ;)

So I think it will be a good idea to add it up to the list of your "Altcoin Wallet".

I have to say thanks to all the faucet owners that have messaged me about listing their faucets on cryptolinks (https://cryptolinks.com/). At the moment we will not list any faucets on our list, because there is too much scam involved in this faucets. We were analyzing these sites for quiet some time and it is about 80% or more faucet sites scam.

So if there is too much scam involved in these things we can not list them. I know that we can not make 100% scam free collection, but if we can get near this number I will be very thankful :)

Again thank you for all the messages and if you have got good website, blog, service, you are influencer, contact us and we will talk about your site listing!

But for all scammers please avoid us because we will start publicly sharing you on our social networks and the section of scammers is also coming on our list ;)

It makes no sense to add faucets to your crypto directory, in that way you will be only make faucet list. But there is few sites which have faucets list with faucets that pay, most of them direct to FaucetHub microwallet where users can accumulate coins from faucets, and after reach some treshold withdraw to their wallets.

This way of paying reduce scam to minimum, and since I have faucet list it is in my best interest to keep it clean from scam sites. Many say that faucets are waste of time, but for users from some very poor countries every $ are counted at the end of the month.

It would be also nice if there was some kind of option for users to share suggestions with you on any link that's not current on your website. Some kind of contribution button that redirect users to GitHub or so.

Keep up the good job and thanks for the effort you've put behind this, hope you can manage to stay free of adds and wish you good luck.

I agree with you that there should be some place for faucet. Faucets is important part of cryptocurrency world, many people discover crypto through faucets. But you're right that individual faucets shouldn't be listed. There are simply too much scam and many faucets stop working after few weeks or months. So, listing of faucet microwallets like Faucethub or Coinpot would be better idea. Maybe Freebitco.in could be also listed because it's oldest and most popular faucet.

A little surprised you don’t have Trading View listed with the crypto trading/technical analysis group.

There is a small mistake on the exchange list. Indodax (formerly Bitcoin.co.id) is written as 'Indqdax'. Maybe you should edit it for clarity.

Same on here:

A minimal typo but it would be great if all would be flawless.

These list are updated? Specially on crypto-gambling thingy?

Thank you I appreciate that, corrected(https://cryptolinks.com/desktop-wallet).

I am updating list daily as much as I can, I am still working on developing the back-end of site. So that is why I am very glad that you guys see mistakes and correct me, because when you work on something so much, you became a bit blind for some things, like for example typo :).

If you have some other or bigger things on your mind you can also email me that we can discuss it.

Thank you all guys for helping me with your ideas, corrections.... ;)
