Title: Twitter fights cryptocurrency advertising
Post by: aad140386 on October 31, 2018, 10:31:01 AM
Yesterday faced a very unpleasant event. Twitter has suspended the activity of my page. I’m taking part in bounty campaigns, and it’s likely that I’ve violated one of the rules of Twitter in this way. I was hurt, but I took it quite calmly and turned in those. support for twitter. But over the course of the day, 2 more of my friends called me, who were also take part in bounty campaigns and were also blocked on Twitter on the same day as me. What is it, just an accident or twitter fighting cryptocurrency advertising in your network?

A lot of them are fighting the crypto ads not because they have something against cryptos but  because there is a growing problem of people using cryptos to scam others and the ads are one of the ways that they are getting to the people that they are scamming on the sites. It might not even end up happening but there needs to be something done about the scams

Regular retweeting a large number of twits without any other significant activities would flag the account as bot or fake account.
Regularly being involved in conversation, twitting on your own, changing profile pictures are some activities that would minimise the risk of being banned by twitter.

That is what they are trying to do now but there are still a lot of scam ads that are still run on their site daily and a lot of people are losing their money from that, there is no way that anyone is going to be able to stop all of the scam ads as the scammers are getting more clever by the day, they are now suspending accounts which are related to cryptos

It is not a new problem to the market. Because there are too much fraud projects in the crypto space, the major social media are trying to protect people from getting scammed. My account wasn't banned, but I have lost over 3k followers.

This very unfortunate for you mate. I also noticed that my followers suddenly decreased and now it make sense as Twitter are banning some accounts. Maybe because some accounts are violating some rules and I don't think it's related to crypto as my account will be banned also.

This of course is very sad. I myself just the other day directly faced with such a problem. despite the fact that outright spam or a large number of publications per day I did not have. Also noticed that block not only those who PR ISO, but also ordinary users.

Now a lot of Twitter accounts are really blocked, and it's hard to guess why they do it so massively. I just noticed that they block accounts where it’s signed: mutual following. In any case, many participants in bounty campaigns will find it harder to complete the tasks that the project requires.

With time twitter will change their stand on banning crypto related accounts facebook did it and stopped when they saw it is tech that seems inevitable to this generation, but it could be another reason those account were banned but if that was the reason they will stop it with time medium did the same but now medium is no more banning it when they know crypto is the future.

Did you write so twitter support?  Some months ago my account was suspended so I immediately asked them and after 1 day they makes apologies because their anti-spam software thougth I was a bot because I made too many tweets/retweets in a certain hour. From that day I schedule every tweet as I can and I've reduced numbers of tweet/retweets made and I never had any problem anymore.

I want to suggest that you, not only use social media like (Twitter) only to participate in bounties, but must be used more for others. Examples of communicating with friends, or posting daily life. My conclusion is Don't use Twitter too often just to promote crypto or ICO projects. It is not impossible if Twitter will suspend our account. This is only a suggestion, and may be corrected. Thanks

I think this is a problem with the US policy regarding investment. This is problem. Already a lot of accounts have blocked. So I think this is a struggle. Well, this is their decision. Cryptocurrency will find another way to advertise.

And the real problem is too many of you guys twitter participants were spamming twitter with thousand or even millions tweet in every hour. I like the twitter has been taking an action to prevent the users which used bot to keep spamming the twitter. With a one click and then boom your account will be suspended. Stop spamming anything.

Mostly it will not happen. Twitter will suspend an account without the ability to appeal because it is against their terms and rules .

Twitter had banned lots of bounty hunter accounts during last week, so that is not a news. There is almost no chance to unban the account.

The violated rule is mass following and follow back, these are against rules

Twitter will always detect those mysterious follows and follow back an account received. I guess it was stated in their terms and conditions just before signing up.

In fairness to twitter, they are just cleaning their platform from these scammers in my opinion. Not all twitter account that involves in cryptocurrency has been suspended, those suspended accounts are doing tweets and retweets in which the platform think that they are just spamming in my opinion.

with hundreds of millions of accounts, suspending some thousands is not alerting.  maybe twitter got strict on those accounts who abused twitter's terms and conditions.  it can't be denied that there are really some who have done massive spamming and farming and these accounts have done infairness to other crypto people.  in catching these, twitter may be using some bots to detect illicit activities.  but bots are not perfect, some legit accounts were also dragged and twitter is trying to manually re-check those who seek support to re-activate them.

Twitter began to fight with cryptocurrency and bounty hunters.
As far as I know, even those accounts that have not posted anything for a long time have been blocked.
Massive blocking has begun on Twitter. Although the presence of hashtags mentioning cryptocurrency also serve as a reason for blocking.

This may be a contradiction. Weibo, with its high degree of freedom, has been purifying its own content. Now it is the period of ICO decline, and they may be the most sensible to do so. As a social software, you must be responsible for the user.

Twitter is not trying to do anything when it comes to curbing of cryptocurrency or scam and they will never because of that ban your account as every individual is entitled to whatever they feel like posting and that is totally different from normal advertising. Scammers will always keep getting their way as long as there are people who are gullible enough to fall into their trap since they are so lazy to always do due diligence.

The main reason why twitter gets to ban accounts is because of some activities that pertain, following and unfollowing of account, which is one thing twitter frowns at a lot when it comes to doing it out of the ordinary. Most times, even when that happens, as long as you can get your account verified you should not have a problem.

Well I guess its not a problem. They are prohibiting the advertisement of cryptocurrencies for our safety. If other tweets about cryptos, then others retweets, it can attract the attention of those scammers and hacks and others. This may have a negative effect to someone but it has a positive effect to the majority. We aren't similar to every person. We do not know how other thinks.

Come on, your bounty spam is not an advertising, it's a total shit which makes the whole social network cry tears of blood. The real advertising is PAID, you should pay Twitter first to use their platform for advertising something, and then they will not mind. But if neither you, nor projects you promote, want to pay, then put up with the truth that for Twitter you're just a bot posting random shit with no sense.

I don't think it's the bounty retweets that is being restrictes or banned by twitter. It's the massive follows and follow backs that is being detected and considered by Twitter as abnormal activity.

Now that twitter did an action, they noticed that the number of tweets increased and they figure it out which came from those bounties.

Twitter had banned lots of bounty hunter accounts during last week, so that is not a news. There is almost no chance to unban the account.

The violated rule is mass following and follow back, these are against rules
That's right they have violated the rules so twitter just did an action.

Twitter does not fight against crypto. Twitter is against spam, scam icos and bot activities. Try not to share Airdop tweets and do not make consecutive shares. If you follow the rules, i do not think you will have any problems.

Twitter probably does not currently agree with the promotion of the crypto market on their platform. I also have some friends who have been locked up on their twitter account. I do not know how it blocks them, because some people have older Twitter accounts in which they promote cryptocurrency. It looks like facebook is adopting the same strategy because a recent facebook account has been blocked. I knew facebook were a bit more restrictive than twitter, but I hope that in the future social media networks will agree with the advertising of crypto coins.

Welcome to our world.  ;D I said goodbye to Twitter more than six months ago in the same way. And it's useless to prove anything, such a policy! I'm surprised that bounty programs still include social programs as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. I think soon most of hunters will be blocked.
Although I did notice that Twitter is blocking not only bountyhunters , but also ordinary accounts.

For me twitter is a strange place, I registered there and was baned 2-3 months without any normal reason. I was just reading the news and small comments. After that, I stopped using twitter, because they are crazy about security and have the paranoia about every user move.

Regularly being involved in conversation, twitting on your own, changing profile pictures are some activities that would minimise the risk of being banned by twitter.
Sometimes, certain heading can be a bit confusing, and it is obvious the OP is not even stating the main reason why his twitter account was banned. When it comes to the rules of twitter, it has to do with massive following and unfollowing within a short period of time.

I tweet a lot and that include things that has to do with cryptocurrency even more than regular tweet, and I have never been banned. I believe a lot of people do not get to read the policies of twitter, and in the midst of trying to increase their followers, they tend to do things against the rule of the social media platform. As far as I am concerned, twitter does not have anything against cryptocurrency.

My friend's account also got suspend from twitter because he shared ICO so much and he never created tweet personality about his life maybe or joke, he just make tweet about ICO and kind of ICO hastag.
So twitter just suspend account that make lot of spam, you know if participate in many bounties, how much that account created tweet and Retweet.

Twitter, like many other social networks are extremely loyal to the cryptocurrency and users who promote it, just sometimes many tweets as robots that raises questions about the account.

Until now, there has been no official statement from Twitter regarding what happened some time ago. If they really prohibit any status related to cryptocurrency I guess that's very unlikely. A few months earlier Twitter had banned cryptocurrency ads on their platform, but every bounty hunter could still make promotions about the ICO project, and after a few months later Twitter said that they were withdrawing the ban and allowing each cryptocurrency ads.

Title: Re: Twitter fights cryptocurrency advertising

What they're fighting are bots which take advantage of their platform. So if you have no activity but tweeting crypto links then they can flagged your accounts as bots. I advise you to tweets other messages as well, not just full bounty whoring post. There are literally hundreds of twitter bots now that they need to push them down. Or it can possibility that your account has been reported as a bot by someone else.

IMO, that's just a coincidence, because Twitter only bans ads related to ICOs if you use Twitter advertising tool. There is no ban on Twitter if you post content related to ICO. Should you review activities that have something unusual about your account?

Twitter is not fighting cryptocurrency advertising, they are fighting the scam crypto ads, there has been a lot of twitter addresses that was confirmed with blue tick that got hacked recently and all of that was used for getting people to send money somehow. The hackers that gets those type of twitter accounts manages to change the name to something like elon musk and than use it to tell people send ethereum to their address, a lot of people believe them somehow and one even got away with over 200k thousand dollars recently. Twitter is trying to find a way to fight that and stop advertising false scam ads on their platform. In order to do that they have their security department banning all risky ones which means sometimes the real ones get banned too.

I also locked two accounts for promoting Cryptocurrency. I think what twitter managers are doing is increasing the intensity of checking the users who advertise for ICO projects. I think the ICO project is losing a good place to promote and this is a bad thing for bounty hunters and upcoming ICO projects.

I think it is just Twitter's way of blocking and fighting bot or spam account. Just make at least some regular activity aside from your bounty postings so that their system will not determine you as a bot. Hope you return or reactivate your account soon.

What you experience also happens to me. This is confusing and how to resolve it. They say the bounty hunter participants are just making spam. Even though as a marketing digital online we have the duty to like and retweet everyday.

Next time try to rarely share the ICO page and create with our own original tweets.

A lot of them are fighting the crypto ads not because they have something against cryptos but  because there is a growing problem of people using cryptos to scam others and the ads are one of the ways that they are getting to the people that they are scamming on the sites. It might not even end up happening but there needs to be something done about the scams
rather, the problem is that many guys take 100 companies, and basically it is usually beginners, their account is only registered and they are already in the daily print 100 messages, which leads to blocking for spam, just guys cannot determine what companies are good and what are bad here and take everything.

Did you wrote to twitter support to ask why they suspended your account? In most cases the reason is because you made too many tweets and retweet in an hour/day. That’s why I use to schedule my tweets.

PS: I own a lot of accounts and none of them got suspended for posting crypto stuff. But I have a lost a lot of followers in these months.

IMO, that's just a coincidence, because Twitter only bans ads related to ICOs if you use Twitter advertising tool. There is no ban on Twitter if you post content related to ICO. Should you review activities that have something unusual about your account?

Indeed, I have been tweeting and retweeting cryptocurrency related stuff, and even tweeting ICO that I feel is legit.  The thing that I think was that OP had been tweeting too many stuff everyday which I guess twitter thought that their account is bot or possibly they are running some third party script that is not allowed by twitter.  Twitter probably detected abnormal behavior from the account that lead them in banning it.

I also the twitter account that has also been blocked, but it seem to me that they do not want anything like ICO or cryptocurrency mentioned on their platform. Aside that, i have a brother, who is also into bounty, but his twitter account is still intact. I think there must be a reason behind it which might not be clear for now. Or could it be that they have not noticed my brother's account?

Not sure what's the exact parameters on the suspension of some Twitter accounts. I doubt they'll tell us that. So far, my Twitter is working and now I tried to avoid ICO RTs.

As i know promoting 3rd party things on twitter is already violating its rules. Most bounty hunters promoting more that 10 projects per day. I think that is the problem. And also most of them only promoting ICOs. i think it would not problem if we use it at personal usages also. And another problem is following and unfollowing huge number of accounts.

Yeah twitter has locked my account for "suspicious activity". I just use an account to retweet and like stuff for bounty campaigns... I guess that makes me a terrible person.

did that really happen? because I still find lots of accounts about crypto, altcoin, developers and other influencers on twitter,
I think the rules on twitter are not too strict for cryptocurency, we still easily tweet each others about crypto

i dont think twitter is banning crypto advertising accounts . im also doing bounty using my twitter and im still fine. do not retweet crypto posts too much. also share a normal posts about cars, pets etc . then your profile will look normal. dont make it a fully crypto account.
Yeah, I think so. We need to make our account looks normal, not only share about crypto but other things, too (such as our hobby, our daily life, or anything you want to share). Hope everyone read this and there will not be another account locked.

Twitter is struggling with bots and users who use other people's photos in the profile. To secure your account, I removed from the profile hashtags #ICO #bounty #follow and other similar. I added some real photos to my profile.  If you use your account to work with bounty and airdrop, then I advise you to make neutral posts as well.  For example, video, beautiful photos of nature or animals, poems.  This will help you not to be confused with the bot.

This is also happen to me and most of my friends that joining bounty. From that we can take a point that this is happened because we're truly againts or violating Twitter Rules, as per Twitter Support said. We are just simply retweeting a tons of tweet in every single day/week, so Twitter could be assumed that our account just like fake/bots.

Why I've never experienced this problem before? I think your account banned because you're using more than 1 account to spam about cryptocurrency or ICO project on Twitter. There are so many guys still working fine on Twitter bounty campaign without being banned on Twitter. I think it's the same kind of checkpoint on Facebook.

Yes, not so long ago passed the mass blocking of accounts on Twitter. This is even correct, perhaps after that people will try to maintain your account correctly, write reasonable things and not to spam about different fraudulent projects. Fortunately, my Twitter account not was blocked, but several thousand followers disappeared.

They have been blocking some accounts that are involved with cryptocurrency because as what I have observed, my follower and the accounts that I followed decrease so I would assume that they were blocked as well. Maybe the reason is that twitter may recognized that you are spamming so they just blocked you that's why if you are participating in twitter campaign, you should just choose few campaigns to promote and not 50 campaigns because instead of earning more, you would just totally lose all of it.

Maybe, twitter is not really happy about seeing so many advertisement about cryptocurrencies and ICO project. Some users or normal twitter users might reported accounts who is aimed to advertise cryptos. The problem is that, they are not well oriented about the benefits of new technology and they just see those advertisements as ads not opportunities.

Seeing the current Twitter account is indeed much reduced in the follower, the possibility of many bots, so this is overcome by Twitter media so as to improve and protect users from all forms of fraud. Although a little disappointed, this step helps users to be careful with the increasing crypto ads.

social media like twitter only limit only. not everyone will like or in twitter interested in crypto and many of the ads that appear. When this is judged to be either annoying or spam then surely twitter have the policy to delete it or block it. This is certainly the convenience of everyone who is on Twitter that not only focuses on crypto only.

Most of the twitter or any social media related to bounty campaign are always showing sign of content spamming, that's why twitter become suspicious to that activities, can't really judge twitter since this kind of activities tend to take their resources heavily
if not being treated but it's always better for twitter to give an additional option to lift the suspension.

Perhaps you are requesting to watch too many people within a short time, so Twitter considers you as a bot account. And they temporarily lock your account, but if you've verified your email and phone number with that account, you can easily restore your normal usage.

I guess that they are just trying to curb the problem of so many people getting scammed because they are using the ads to get people to invest in coins that are not good and their users are losing money. Also there are a lot of bots on twitter which are always spamming about cryptocurrencies so those can also get annoying for the users

Yes, you are right, Twitter has been fighting crypto advertising for a long time. User accounts are blocked forever. I think this was due to the weak regulation of the crypto market at the moment. In addition, Twitter does not want to fall under the sanctions of the commission on securities and exchanges and be fined. Too much fraud in the market ..

I do not think twitter is blocking accounts based on advertisements made inline with cryptocurrency. If that is true, my account too should also have been blocked. I believe something else happened that is against their rules. You should read their rules again, so as not to get your new account you are going to be opening banned.

I don't think twitter will really going to ban cryptocurrency advertisement in their platform. Maybe they just spam the twitter and we, the bounty hunters should be aware of our activities. If we are banned, we are responsible to it. Maybe we've done something wrong with their terms.

That is one of the things that the cryptocurrency market has to deal with now but we have to understand where twitter is coming from in regards to this. The people who are advertising there have taken to using the platform to run scam coins and the site is only trying to protect their users from losing money. They are banning so many accounts related to cryptocurrencies

You make sure to review your history of your post to determine what is wrong on your post. You can send also message to their support team concerning what is the problem with the post. But most common problems of it is when your post looks spamming and the administrator are banning it immediately.
