Title: Continuous Bumping for Long Time | Report to mod?
Post by: S_Therapist on November 01, 2018, 05:18:10 AM
In Indian local board, coinliker (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1324004) had posted  an ANN thread in local Language for Mercatox. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4522069.80)
He is continuously bumping the thread at a row with some news, for example, X coin added, Y coin added, bla bla bla. Sometimes, s/he even posted twice in a day.

Is it against the rules? Should I report?

Should I report?
Simply hit the report to the moderator button, and the MOD would decide if what he/she is doing is breaking one rule or the other

There is no need to create a new thread for this issue

Yes, it is against the rules. As stated in the unofficial bitcointalk rules:

13. Bumps, "updates" are limited to once per 24 hours.[2]

Simply report the posts and wait for a mod/admin to sort things out.

Report to moderator button will be enough for this case but we need to remember that Indian borad curently don't have any moderators so what will happen even if we report all those posts?

Already people stated that lot of spam were happening in Indian board. So New mod need to appointed.

Although there is no mod but global moderators will handle the reports. Once you report a thread it will visible to board moderators and global moderators(AFAIK). So if your report is unhandled it doesn't mean no mod are see that. Perhaps it's not deleteable thats why unhandled.

However @ OP , you can try by reporting single reply. If mod take action then report others reply. I did same thing sometimes. If marked unhandled then I avoid further report on similar case.

I still can't see stats of report. I have reported already. Let me see what happened. I will update if the thread/post get deleted.

That for sure is prohibited and against the rule of the forum and anyone doing it should get some punishment they deserve.

Don't know what's the uproar of the bumping and considering it is Mercatox there might another plot ??? Who knows, that user should deserve a shilling punishment as well.

If s/he creates post once a day then no problem. But if posts multiple time each day them it is policy violation.

Try clicking report to moderator for another post (not necessarily a post you plan on reporting)
You would get the stats of your previous reports and your percentage accuracy.
It usually takes a while and you can be correct while the issue is not yet handled.
