I see every year bitcoin experiences good growth, but in 2014 and 2015 bitcoin down.
2017 is the peak of bitcoin, and in my opinion, 2 years (2018 and 2019) will be a bad year for bitcoin, then in 2020 bitcoin will create bullish again. I think this is the reason some people say that 2020 will be a good year for bitcoins.

Where did you learn that 2019 will have a "bad year for bitcoin"? and where did you learn that bitcoin will be bullish in 2020? Through your crystal ball?

It's okay as theories go, but there's no way of accurately predicting what's going to happen.  2019 might be another fairly stable year or we could see some extremely volatile movements.  It's anyone's guess.

for prices in 2018-2019, the increase may not be as significant as 2017, but we can continue to be optimistic and trust if bitcoin will continue to be in the best position. and will grow. this is just a matter of price not a matter of bitcoin conditions, so keep calm and stay in bitcoin.

Am pretty sure one of the factors for the poor performance of BTC in 2014 to 2015 could have been the Mt. GOX Hack as it was the largest exchange at the time. So basing on the 2014 to 2015 deep to say the 2018 and 2019 will be bad years is quite not accurate

Yes, I am fascinated by the increase in Bitcoin investment every year, and you have the right to make your own predictions. but no one knows for sure what will happen in the future with the price of Bitcoin, because the price of Bitcoin follows market demand, if Bitcoin can give trust to all investors on this earth, your predictions will be correct.

in my opinion, your word is correct, but I only differ opinions with you, because only 2017-2018 which falls and 2019 in my opinion will rise again like in 2013

As long as bitcoin price stays above 6000usd till the end of the year, then this year definitely hasn't been a bad year
It's not as if the price was at 20000usd for a long part of 2017,it was just for quite a while

If we are talking about the price of a bitcoin, then I can’t understand what's wrong with the fact that he sank only 3 times? If we look at other cryptocurrencies, then they feel much worse. Ethereum, for example, sank by almost 8 times. I believe that the end of 2018 will be the beginning of a new bull market.

I'm much more fascinated with the yearly recorded lows of bitcoin rather than yearly highs because it doesn't make much sense. The highs of every year aren't really that significant compared to the lows since the former is just a short-lived price point compared to the latter. The base point of every run would always be the lows, and as we see, the lows of every year is steadily ascending since 2009, and it's a more inviting picture compared to the crooked graph all the yearly highs paint.

Even though there is no need for that history to repeat it can help the new investors to understand about the bitcoin the they might ready to hold than keep panicking whenever the price kept falling.I too believe the bull run will make the price to go next level so investors need to hold the coins now.

2017 was a remarkable year for bitcoin. Never will it get to the peak. That does not mean your prediction may not be right. From the trend, you should expect that cryptos will have a bullish run in 2019 going to 2020. It is not a crystal ball, but experience shows that. However, I am not expecting the extraordinary.

Considering your analysis from 2009 to 2017 can it can be deduce that, in every five years there will always be a consecutive rise in the price of Bitcoin while the sixth year the price will then go down to gather a momentum for another five years in range. Unfortunately, this theory didn't work for 2018 which was the fifth year from 2014 were the price was low. 2018 will be an exchange of 2019 bull run, this is were OP got it wrong from his/her theory.

These are just the theories that you think of. How can you predict bitcoin prices in 2019 is a bad year. Although bitcoin prices in 2018 are not good but this year is not over yet. So it's best to stay calm and keep investing in it, do not speculate too much about the future of bitcoin. This only adds to your panic.

We should be optimistic about bitcoin prices. The value of bitcoin depends on many factors and we do not know when the whale will start functioning again. I believe that when  whale returns, a large amount of capital is injected into the bitcoin, which will be profitable for investors. This year is a bad year for bitcoin, but bitcoin is stable at $ 6000, so next year's value will increase, so you should buy early to make a profit.

What the mass considers to be a bad year for Bitcoin is usually the best possible year for smart money to dollar cost average into the market. People have no clue about what's going on in the OTC market where massive accumulation is taking place, they only focus on the spot market and think it's doing bad because nothing is happening over there.

By the time the mass finally acknowledges that the price has gone to the moon, it's time to sell again. It ain't easy chasing the wrong signals. :D

If 2014 and 2015 was not so successful for bitcoin why you didn't mark it as "BAD"?
Well, yes, 20000 $ last year was a new price's record, but you simply cannot call Current 6000-7000 $ price as bad one, if to compare with all of previous years besides 2017 year it also may be seemed as achievement.

With the control of the sharks it can not happen. They will do everything they can to push Bitcoin up and create traps for the fry. No fool overlooks gifts from those who miss great investments. Money is something that sharks always look for and will make things go against the rules.

2018 - 2019 will be a bad year, it seems I doubt that. Because, many people predict that next year (2019) will be a good year for bitcoin. Or let's just look at what conditions the bitcoin market will be next year  :)

As I see to your prediction 1 to 11 is right but number 12 is not so sure that we have bad price in that year. We don't know what will be the price of bitcoin in 2019 so much better to observe it and wait and see will happen. How do you know? Let me refrain, how can you be sure with that? Finding that there is a pattern on the improvement doesn't mean it will always be like that. No one can make sure when and how much bitcoin price will go out, or when and how the price rising or falling. The pattern I know about bitcoin is that there always be ups and downs happen, they take turn, not be patterned.

However, basing on the response of the members here, its really hard to predict where the price could be in 2-3 years time. Even last year massive growth was unprecedented and no one see it coming, so I would say that its better to wait and see how it pans out in the next few years or so.

Salient point.  If 2019's lowest point ends up being higher than 2018's lowest point, that means it has still been a pretty good year.  Regardless of how far it may have fallen from the ATH.

Although there is not always positive price development at the moment, I am happy because there are now more and more people who know Bitcoin. This is good because if it can be maintained then Bitcoin can become a large financial system. Bitcoin can support all activities that we have in the future.

You are right, No one is predict the next year possibilities because most of the experts are said it will reach 50k USD in 2018. But reality this will reach 6k to 7k USD so some peoples are said it will be going to died in future so it will reach 50k USD also possible. I hope bitcoin is the strongest cryptocurrency.

Don't give prediction which is bad as you mention because we don't know what is possible to happen. But we can reach our prediction with help of investor of the bitcoin if everyone buy and advertise bitcoin even the prediction is high it possible to reach.

The lowest price in 2018 so far has been ~$4500 USD

I don't agree that we had a bad year, we had a magnificent price on 2017, and the price gradually decrease in 2018 but we still got a very good price and 2019 I predicted we will got a good up price, it maybe won't be as good as in 2017, but it definitely going to be more stable, the reason of my 2019 speculation is because we already got a long bear trend and bear trend won't happen forever, I believe when we got bull run we will set a new support price

That pump on 2013 was insane. I remember coming here during those times and some people literally became millionaires over night. Ever since those times the price has never been increasing like that because the initial price is always high. You can get bitcoin for 6 thousand dollars today and sell it at the all time high 20 thousand dollars and you still need to have 50 bitcoins meaning 300 thousand dollars invested into bitcoin in order to make a million dollars.

Considering the price was just couple dollars and than skyrocketed to 780 dollars it was a glorious days. I don't think we will ever have a that type of year again. However like other people said this year wasn't that bad. It was an alright year where everything stand still but in the end we still have a bitcoin that worth over 6 thousand dollars for a whole year which is amazing.

  We have different perception on bitcoin's outstanding by the long year run. Also, no one could predict on future, but we can vision how bitcoin grow for the more years to come. And I believe bitcoin will grow bountifully for this year, it may not hit like the last year pump, but at least it can be stable and consistently growing by this year.

I have known Bitcoin for 3 years and me very unexpected progress that is very shocking especially in 2017 and at that time I was very sorry to sell my bitcoin under $ 1000 and now in 2018 bitcoin experienced a not-so-big decline. and for me it's still in the stable category and I think in 2019 maybe in mid-2019 the price of bitcoin will experience a price increase maybe in the range of 7000 $

How do you know people were becoming millionaires? Is that just an assumption because the price went up like crazy, or actually based on facts in form of you knowing people who did see their net worth push over a million?

The thing with the price going up like 1000% is that only a very few investors manage to hodl through such an increase. Most investors cash out around 25>50>75>100% because no one knows it will pump that high.

That's why I cringe when people talk about how you could have been a millionaire with only a $100 investment. Who aside from a small number of OG hodlers and true believers managed to hodl their coins from that point to where we are right now?

Have you seen John Mcafee in any recent videos? he is terrible physical conditions and will not live through 2020 and he knows it, that's why he made such a stupid bet. Dead men can't eat their own dicks.

Indeed, everybody had different impressions and vision towards bitcoin's capabilities. Despite on how unpredictable is the market for several years, possibly we're waiting, for that random market change that could provide huge profit to lots of holders soon. We can't pin point the exact date but treat it as a big surprise to shock us.

Most of us doesn't have the same thoughts as you are but thank you for the insight of your point of view. It just seem that you had a plan in the future and that's the halving part but don't get too comfortable with it yet because it doesn't starting yet.

yes you are right the price of bitcoin will experience a price increase every year because of the influence of increasingly high demand and because of the influence of the total supply of bitcoin which is very limited.

Every year their will be huge raise in the price of bitcoin.But this year their is bad raise in the bitcoin price.It was a unexpected one in bitcoin price,most of new traders lost their money due to panic selling. And this year bitcoin became a unexpected one.The only way to avoid loss in such fluctuations time is just hold your valuable bitcoin till the raise.

The problem is buying at $15k+ and holding till the next bull market is going to take years - probably 2021 to break even. This is a long time to be without money unless you spent play money. Those saying $15k+ 2019 don't have a clue how to read charts - if it happens I would be shocked.

I did not think that we can predict how bitcoin is going to perform by using the yearly past performance.  Bitcoin grow in 2017 because it was having good fundamental issues and technically the market was a bit good.  I think we should be able to see another upwards movement in 2019 and not 2020.

What op described is price growth, but that isn't only growth, you have other kind of growths too. It's visible everywhere, starting from TV and Internet, there is much more talking and bitcoin mentioning then ever before. Community is growing too, many more people have wallets and some amount of bitcoin in it. Many more markets and exchanges, that information is easy to check, new pairs are pooping out every day. Price should be on the last place, when every other factor is growing be convinced that price will follow that in some moment, like it was case until now, look the price now and try to compare it with price from couple years ago. Compare all other factors and you will always same result, bitcoin is growing.

If we didn't experience the bearish market, maybe bitcoin's growth this year 2018 wouldn't be hampered for so long. People would have a wider expectations with crypto and it will bring a good impact to entire system of crypto economy. Demand will move faster and will boost the price to increase and will meet a profitable price. The normal trend always brings great surprises, but suddenly the sad experience made us learned a lot which gave us the strength to face such challenges for the lives of crypto hodler.

Bitcoin prices every year experience price changes and the price increase is influenced by the existence of very high demand but has a very limited supply, causing a rise in bitcoin prices every year.

Lots of bitcoin are being hacked and most of them are more likely to be locked up already and i don't know why do they have to lock it out. But maybe they were just holding it for the future then planning to sell in the right time though those wallet addresses are now on the watchlist.

We came into the point that bitcoin seems to be hot the world market causing its high demand and low supply. Supposedly it won't be happen to the market, in fact,  we have enough supply in reality. But due to some individuals keep holding on bitcoin, it could lessen its circulating amount across the market.

My conclusion is bitcoin always falls more than 50% after bitcoin reaches unlimited value. so, don't panic and don't be afraid when bitcoin falls like today, and all we have to think about is saving the beginner from panic.

Maybe you should be taking a look at 2012 to 2014 and see possibly if this is something that you will want to consider bad or as an opportunity to be going long in the market. The thing is that with 2020 that you have mentioned, there is actually a lot of possibilities with that, considering that the next halving is going to be happening, and in this case, we all know how that always end up panning out.

Nonetheless, if we want to be looking at every year and since inception, we will still realize that bitcoin has always been in an uptrend and I believe nothing has actually changed that at all, but that depends on how we all see it.

Well regarding this matter about bitcoins growth every year is dependent on many factors and one of them is the support of its investors which is lacking right now where many of it's investors had already sold their own bitcoins when bitcoins market value goes down the drain plus the negative publicity against bitcoin also affects it's market value.

But I think it will not  go down as what had happened when it becomes almost Zero because the development is already in full blown the system is already in place and stronger and many businesses accept it as a legal tender.

Bitcoin might have fallen in 2018 which is something we all know, but the reality is that right from the beginning of things, bitcoin has been rising and indeed it has risen hugely than the point no one could have imagined actually.
