Title: Quick question on Live Ledger
Post by: LeGaulois on November 05, 2018, 03:44:36 PM
I wanted to give a try to the Live Ledger.

I wanted to install a dependant app (which require BTC app + ETH app) but get the following error message. BTC and ETH app required. LedgerWallet website is not mentioning the ETH app required but brief. (I have both already). Or space limited. I know memory usage is limited with Ledger but I have 2 apps only.

Trying with the Chrome app it says me I need to install the BTC app. But it's here already.

I don't really understand your problem.

Where do you get the error message ? From ledger live ? And what does the error message say ? "BTC and ETH app required"  ???

And what are you trying with the chrome app ?

Are you struggling getting ledger live to work ? If so, what OS are you on ?

Sorry if I wasn't clear. Yes from the Live Ledger. The error message says "Unable to install the app. Bitcoin and Ethereum apps are required" (something like that). (Some apps are dependent from the BTC app.) I tried with the Chrome app so since it didn't work with the soft.

EDIT: I did something, don't remember what but it finally works

Since ledger has revamped all of their nano s applications (to save space so that more apps can be installed on the nano s), i guess that you were trying to use/install a fork of BTC.
In this case it makes sense that you need the BTC app to be installed (since any forked coins use the same libary included into the BTC application).

The same probably also applies to ETH, especially when trying to use a fork (not sure if there is any supported by the nano s at all).

At least you have fixed the problem, that's the most important thing  :D
