Title: Bitcoin trading uses so much power that it could push global temperatures up pas Post by: Drysprinkles291 on November 05, 2018, 09:19:46 PM So Bitcoin isn't responsible for quite as much pollution like agriculture and transportation, but apparently they are releasing CO2 at an increasing rate. Is this the case? However, compared to pollution-heavy industries, wouldn't we still be better off with this new technology that could reduce major CO2 industry emissions?

At first proof of work wasn't just an energy requirement, but a special hardware requirement; now it's just which ASIC manufacture can partner with which cheapest energy producer. ::) == There's absolutely no way miners would vote to change the proof of work to something they're not already invested millions into. It'd be like convincing all the steel unions to move the funds to the forestry union, it just won't happen. The time to solve this problem has come and pasted us by. I was hoping proof of capacity would replace proof of work, but nah :( |
