that means that as SC holder i keep my Siacoins on the 1.3.7 wallet and additionally get SCP in the ratio of 1:5 when i install the SCP wallet and enter the SC seed there ??? ::)

It does mean you get SCP tokens in that ratio as long as you held them in a private wallet and had the keys. We have reached out to the exchanges and asked them to distribute the assets upon airdrop but so far, there has been no commitment.

Bitmain A3 units had a pretty good run on our chain at genesis. Even today, they are pulling a couple thousand coins per day with a high difficulty as the adjustment compensates for a lot of early blocks. The S11 is still the ASIC to beat, at least until the new StrongU units begin hitting the streets.

SiaPrime - Decentralized Cloud Storage Applications
with Sia Network Protocol Compatibility

Web  (https://siaprime.net)| Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/siaprime/)| Discord (https://discord.gg/5DAgTn8) | Twitter (https://twitter.com/prime_sia) | Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/SiaPrime-324001801709116/) | Telegram (https://t.me/siaprime) | Source (https://gitlab.com/SiaPrime)

SiaPrime is a fork of the Sia decentralized storage project, open to any Blake(2b) ASIC. Our Prime directive is to develop a product suite on top of the Sia protocol while supporting the Sia core protocol and team. Our dashboard of products will be a mix of open (community edition) and closed source (enterprise edition) toolsets allowing customers of all types to purchase and sell centralized cloud storage with a variety of administrative features. The goal is to create robust cloud storage access for SMBs, enterprises, organizations and individuals. We expect to extend key features of the Sia infrastructure to provide additional geographical redundancy, edge caching and storage tiers while providing important KPIs to administrators.

The Sia protocol is close to production ready after 4 years of development. We're forcasting less than a year before companies and individuals are able to productively use storage capability on Sia networks equal to standard cloud services. SiaPrime is a product suite built to allow friendly and customized access to the network specific to individual need. We'll use direct and channel sales to reach customers with affiliate marketing to create sales funnels for a globally diverse customer set.

With a 2nd layer focus, SiaPrime is uniquely positioned to drive cloud storage on our own network, but also as an interface to the core Sia network and any fork coming out of the Sia protocol. Currently two additional Sia forks are building host capability and creating cloud storage capacity. With SiaPrime, customers will be able to see these networks as a single homogenous backbone and group by geographical, performance or price considerations.

With the fallout from the recent Sia forks, there are now 3 separate Sia-based spinoffs. SiaPrime is the only project on friendly terms with the original Sia team and is the only project working to further the original goals of the Sia project. Our work will have benefits for our network as well as the original Sia network. So, as far as exchanges go, we want to go slowly and let the dust settle while the other projects hop onto any exchange that accepts them. We have our airdrop still to come and we're finishing off a solid block explorer. After these items, we'll start the dialog with appropriate exchanges and move the ball up the field.

So based on this this tone, you are saying that 2 kind of sia is working together ? or it is not ? i do not understand what does that mean by 'friendly terms' with original Sia.
and how about another one ? did they claim to be the 'real' sia project, just like BCH did ?
let say, you and them are not working together. then what is the difference between your project with the others 2 ?

You have written, "Our main directive is to develop a product package on top of the Sia protocol, supporting the main protocol and the Sia command.". The Sia platform was greeted by the community with enthusiasm. But, the problem is in the current situation - a general fall in the cryptocurrency market.

It's really hard to keep up with the enthusiasm, when the cryptomarket is in a situation like today.
I think, that a lot of people have lost their enthusiasm.
everyone is waiting for growth - which is not.
it is psychologically difficult. :(

Our project is built to develop the applications on top of the Sia protocol that were always envisioned by the Sia founders. We seek to work hand in hand with the Sia core team to make sure that Sia-based networks come to dominate the decentralized storage space. We cannot succeed unless the Sia core team succeeds and we believe the reverse is also true.

At the same time, the other 2 projects are not friendly with the core team. You would have to ask each of them directly why and what their purpose is. In our case, if you are a Sia supporter, you should find it easy to support our project.

You are both quite right in that these are difficult days. But this is the time for buidling and that is our mission. Sometime next year we'll look back on today and realize that difficult times are fleeting and things usually get better. When they do, we will be there with a cool product for sale.

As you hear from all new projects, we are in contact with exchanges about listing. We built into our project a specific fund to help defray the expense of exchange listing. Now that we have a public block explorer and our airdrop is scheduled for next week, some of our focus will turn to giving more attention to getting the token listed.

The SiaPrime team is working on the roadmap this week. We are planning a meetup on Saturday for interested developers, network/dbase engineers, web app designers, etc. If you are interested, please join our Discord (OP) and let us know. We'll flesh out the plan for the mix of open source (community edition) and closed source (enterprise edition) in our project and lay out milestones that we can create specific bounties for.

The SiaPrime airdrop is occurring as we speak! If you held Siacoins (SC) at block 179000 in a private wallet, you qualify for 1SCP for each 5 SC you held. With over 650k positive addresses in the Sia blockchain, the airdrop process should take ~10 hours to complete.

To retrieve your tokens, download our software (https://siaprime.net/#download) and go to the wallet tab. Choose "Load a wallet from a seed" and at the next screen, enter the old Sia seed and hit Confirm. This will search the blockchain for your airdropped tokens and display them as a Confirmed Balance. There is no time limit on when you must claim your tokens though it is good practice to immediately secure your balance and make sure you received the correct amount. Also, in the future, the project software may require a fork for some other purpose that makes retrieving airdrop tokens a little more cumbersome.

Tokens that were locked up as collateral or in contracts are not included in the airdrop.

No exchanges have yet announced support for the fork and we purposely have locked away the token distribution for huge wallets we deemed to belong to exchanges. If you held Siacoin on an exchange at block 179000, you will not receive SCP tokens unless at some future point, the exchange decides to honor the airdrop and distribute tokens. This is a decision to be made by the individual exchanges and you should contact them for further information.

For operational security, it is probably not optimal to use the same seed for two different project wallets. The best strategy is to move your Siacoins into a new seed on the Sia wallet before retrieving your SiaPrime tokens in our wallet.

The airdrop sends tokens to addresses with a positive balance at the fork. Because of this, any given wallet may qualify for multiple sends. Please wait until we announce the airdrop is concluded before questioning your airdrop total received

Airdrop wrap-up - We distributed a total of 2,958,894,989.82 SCP to holders of SC as of Sia block 179000. We have escrowed 4,662,666,828 into cold wallets, tokens we determined were held by exchange addresses. These will be frozen for a period of one year from tomorrow and the addresses will be made public shortly for everyone to monitor. Over the next few months, we'll reach out to the exchanges about listing and distributing the assets, but my guess is the largest (Bittrex/Binance) will likely not distribute these. Internally, we are discussing a regularly scheduled token burn to bring total supply down and directly inline with the Sia project. For at least the next 2 years, SCP circulating supply will be significantly lower than Sia supply and should bode well for token valuation once we hit the exchanges.

Yeah, sorry. typo. as stated in the OP, 1SCP for every 5SC. The airdrop is completed so you should see all the tokens in your wallet now

Upcoming maintenance fork - SiaPrimeFund distribution, long term supply change and token burn

The SiaPrime team is preparing a fork in order to correctly distribute the SiaPrimeFunds to holders of SiaFunds as of block 179000 on the Sia blockchain. SiaPrimeFunds are a mechanism built into the Sia protocol to provide a small fee on storage transactions for ongoing development of the protocol. Most of these are held directly by Nebulous Inc, the developer of the Sia protocol. At the SiaPrime blockchain start, these tokens were distributed based on the original Sia distribution and we need to correctly account for funds that have been bought/sold since then. SiaPrime owns no SPF tokens, nor makes any offer to sell such tokens.

At the same time, we will alter token economics slightly to compare favorably with the Sia project in later years by changing the block reward floor from 50,000 to 10,000. The block reward decays by 1SCP every block and will reach 10,000 at block 290,000 (sometime in 2024). This will drop long term total supply from ~68b to ~57b tokens.

We are also limiting supply by adding a token burn. There is currently a 10% developer fee from the block reward in perpetuity. The change will redirect this 10% starting at block 105,000 toward the collateral burn address, resulting in a regular and significant reduction in supply. The project fee is currently scheduled to pay contributing developers. By year 3, we expect product sales to replace this funding mechanism. These changes will be implemented within the next week with a maintenance fork. See OP for full project specifications

Number 12 when sorting by hashrate out of 491 and we're not even on an exchange yet. https://miningpoolstats.stream/ If you have a Blake2b based ASIC, SiaPrime is the coin to mine. Innosilicon S11, StrongU STU-U2 and Bitmain A3 all produce good daily coin yields with the blockchain just over 60 days old.

SiaPrime is pleased to announce listing on our first exchange. The Bisq Network (https://bisq.network) is a truly decentralized exchange with a unique system of handling disputes while allowing for multiple funding mechanisms. The SiaPrime project vision is to create complimentary 2nd layer product applications on the Sia protocol. Now, you can use Bisq to acquire SiaPrimeCoin for purchasing storage on the network.

One of the key features of Sia-protocol based networks is storage nodes (called Hosts) lock up significant amounts of coins in Collateral to ensure they fulfill their smart contract requirements in hosting your data. This velocity sink is unique to our project and will ultimately make exchanges like Bisq critical in providing SMB and Enterprise customers access to decentralized cloud storage. While the network is live and active today, we expect to build out a more sophisticated product suite providing storage sales in fiat denominations with coin trading occurring automatically via API and exchanges like Bisq will play a key role in that process.

This has been a great fork from SIA embracing and listening to the community for a truly decentralized storage project. Furthermore,  keeping the original Blake(2b) algo allows all miners to be truly decentralized.

Kenneth Scott Bell has been leading this project, planning before and now excelling way after the fork with SCP reaching new heights. SCP team comprises a group of very skilled professionals with 75+ years experience among themselves. The upcoming listing to crypto bridge allows SCP to be taken to the masses and provides the well-deserved exposure SCP deserves and to showcase the underlying technology.

I would highly encourage storage hosting for SCP.  Currently, there is a very generous hosting incentive that you can receive to cover hosting expenses. It targets to reward commitment, availability and performance of the hosters. Check out the ann on discord for further information.

Personally, I have been with this coin since the beginning and I see a very bright future for the service and products of this project with a highly efficient and dedicated team. Keep up the awesome work and make SCP the king of cloud storage! :D

Something Blake is good, there are few solid coins with that Something! SiaPrime will only be taking advantage of a beautiful job done by the Sia team and will try to lead some storage services? But what about the Siacoin team? Are they planning to have guidelines in the same segments as the SiaPrime team? Is there even some SCP burning?

SiaPrime will be listed on the cryptobridge exchange end of this month  :D
This news will boost demand and demand for SCP, since they will be joining a promising DEX.

I’ve been following this project since Sia forked and have been mining it - first with 2 A3s and then with a Dragonmint B52 using siamining.com. It’s the only Sia fork that is approved by Nebulous. Over time, I think this project will be incredibly successful, innovative and profitable. The community is very knowledable and the mining channel in their Discord has helped me optimize my miners. If you’re looking for a project with great devs and a great community, make sure to follow this one!

Check out the latest SiaPrime project update, lots of things going on with the SiaPrime project including a new Team member, pending exchange listing and the status of the roadmap. As we approach 90 days since our launch (block 12055 as of this writing), the project is gaining a lot of momentum. Our PoW chain has 2.23PH/s of ASIC horsepower hashrate and our community is growing daily.

I'm looking for projects that may have some real interest in real life.
SiaPrime will be making it possible for everyone, especially with its free version, where it will be possible to test and build possibilities.
What will be the GB limit for free version?
It's amazing the work that you have been doing, very well detailed this last update.

I wondered what to do with my S11s & B52s, thankfully a solid group of entrepreneurs are improving upon the original vision of decentralized storage and the ability for businesses to transition smoothly. My miners are on SCP woot!  ;D ::)BTC

same here. had a few S11's and wasn't sure what to point them at. Found the SiaPrime discord and they helped me get setup mining SCP pretty quickly. nice team. will keep mining it for the foreseeable future as the difficulty remains pretty stable and the devs seem to be hard at work.

I became very excited about the SiaPrime project when I first came across it just after the Siacoin hard fork in October 2018.

I bought a few Antminer A3’s in March 2018 in the hope of mining quite a few Siacoin because the price was just too good to be true, but unfortunately the difficulty level was getting far too high and the price of Siacoin was getting lower and lower each day. I wasn’t mining enough coins and I started to make a loss, so I felt let down by the Siacoin project.
And then I heard about Siacoin’s hard fork and thought to myself that the investment I made into purchasing and setting up my A3’s were all a waste of time, money and effort. I was about ready to either sell them at a loss or dump them as scrap. However, not all was lost, in fact since the Siacoin hard fork, an even better more exciting and promising project was born out of its ashes, so welcome to the SiaPrime project.

I am so glad the Siacoin fork happened, otherwise SiaPrime would not have existed or I wouldn’t have known about it, so I am very grateful for that fork to have happened, even though I initially made a loss with Siacoin. So, my initial investment into my A3’s had a new lease of life (hallelujah 😊). I immediately started mining SiaPrime with amazingly fast results. I started mining even without a price set as that is how much I believe in the SiaPrime project. I eventually came to realize that it wasn’t all about mining SiaPrime. It is much more than this and I only learned this since being with SiaPrime. No other coin project I was involved with made me see this.

Since SiaPrime’s birth, I have been very active with SiaPrime and every day I am finding out new and exciting information that is just mind blowing. My mind has opened up since my involvement with SiaPrime, so I am forever grateful to their friendly community.

SiaPrime’s project itself about offering affordable cloud storage space took my attention immediately, so I went on to their Discord channel and I started contacting knowledgeable people who were involved in host storage for SiaPrime and I soon started setting up my own host storage to help the community. This is still work-in-progress for me. It is also possible to set up host storage space on a NAS server, which I thought was impossible, but it is quite easy to set up with the help of the SiaPrime community and their clever scripts. They bend over backwards to help you and that is very good to know. There’s no shortage of help here.

The reason why the SiaPrime community set up their own host storage space is because it can be used to rent cloud storage space from SiaPrime, which is affordable compared to other cloud storage space systems.

The team behind SiaPrime are very friendly, extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. They are constantly active on the Discord channel, so you’ll never be alone if you need answers to a query. Their community help a lot too and they are just as important as the team. So, if you need to know anything about SiaPrime or have a query, they will help you immediately. There’s no messing about with their kind and precious help.

Quite often, you get a lot of inside information from the team leader, which gives you a sense of how ambitious this project really is and how they are moving forward to a very bright future, so naturally I want to stick with them and somehow be part of it. Whatever the team does to promote itself to move forward, also benefits those involved in the project itself, whether cloud storage space or mining SiaPrime.

At the moment, I have been mining SiaPrime every day and I can gladly say that I am churning out millions of coins within a short space of time. This is SiaPrime’s reward to us, even though some people may not see it that way, but it is.

SiaPrime is the future and I believe those involved with them, will be healthily rewarded in time. This is why I am sticking with SiaPrime.

Out of all the crypto coins I have been involved with, I believe SiaPrime has a positive and fruitful future ahead of them for many years to come. We are being rewarded now and in the future, even though it’s early days yet. Why wouldn’t you want to be part of SiaPrime. The results will speak for themselves in time.

In conclusion, if you want to find an affordable and powerful cloud storage solution, then look no further than SiaPrime. Those who’d like to earn a little coin can quite easily set up their own host storage space to rent via the SiaPrime project.

Join SiaPrime’s Discord channel to find out more.

The current network is 155TB and growing rapidly. People can store backups through a basic interface and become a storage node to test/learn prior to our commercial product launch. We are finalizing the roadmap and expect to have our S3 compatible interface and structure operational by mid-late 2019. Though we expect the coin to enjoy success on exchanges, it is a utility mechanism for the purchase and sale of storage. Our true profitability will come from fiat revenues selling to SMBs.

Post by: FaustianAGI on February 23, 2019, 05:31:25 AM
Background
We celebrate the milestone of 50 storage nodes on the SiaPrime network by running the next round of financial incentives. The plan will evolve into a long term process of sharing revenues with storage partners recognizing storing data is a serious commitment.

Plan/Guidelines
Bring up a new node and receive 20,000 coins to help cover the cost of collateral. Stay online and receive ongoing monthly incentives*. New for Round 2, refer a friend who delivers a node (live for 30 days) and receive another 10,000 SCP as they also receive coins!

Nodes must meet the following guidelines to participate:
Minimum amount of storage offered to receive incentives - 750GB
Contract formation fees - leave at default
Bandwidth charges(upload/download) - 100 SCP minimum
Storage pricing - 2000 SCP minimum
Collateral - 2x Minimum (should be <3x to ensure a good score, 2.5x optimal)

After discussions of thin-provisioning at data centers, we've decided on a mixed incentive reward going forward. It is trivial to make a storage node appear much larger than it actually is, requiring expensive disk filling tests to verify. Our solution is to pay partially on available storage with a ceiling and on data stored. The benefit is this incentivizes more storage AND nodes setting aggressive pricing strategies to earn a good node score (and with it, more contracts/storage).

Reward schedule
.625 SCP/GB/Mo of storage offered up to 32TB with a 20,000 SCP cap + 10 SCP/GB/Mo of data stored

Example calculation 1:
Storage offered: 1500gb x .625 = 938 SCP + Data stored: 475gb x 10 = 4750 SCP
Total reward = 5688 SCP

Example calculation 2:
Storage offered: 64000gb x .625 = 40,000 SCP (20k over cap so reward = 20,000 SCP) + Data stored: 2250gb x 10 = 22500 SCP
Total reward = 42500 SCP

To get started in hosting, download our current client software.
https://siaprime.net/#download

To get additional coins for hosting, we are available on Bisq.network today and will be live on the Crypto-Bridge DEX soon. You can also mine profitably using ASIC rigs from Innosilicon, Obelisk, Bitmain and others. Once you are ready to host or have your node running, contact here or in our Discord.

I don't understand. What is the problem you are solving? How can this ever be cheaper that S3 itself?

If the problem is centralization, do you think that Amazon could *not* censor this platform if it's running on top of their services?  ???

SiaPrime does not run on S3. Our network is made up of individuals and datacenters contributing storage to a network of decentralized storage nodes. Because there is a lot of spare storage in the world, we are capitalizing assets already paid for. At the same time, there is a lot of overhead built into the S3 pricing model. Several traditional cloud companies significantly undercut AWS prices today. With our decentralized storage product, you get the best of all worlds; great pricing, a fully S3 compatible infrastructure and decentralization to protect your data from centralized breach/failpoints. Nobody can censor your data because it is sharded via erasure coding and always encrypted at the client before upload to the network. Using EC means any 10 hosts out of 30 can restore your data making the service far more secure than traditional centralized cloud services. Plus, we do on-premise and hybrid implementations that allow IT admins to decentralize files throughout the enterprise to save money.

Our product "works" today in a very basic version (not yet S3 compatible). We expect to have a shipping version by end of 2019 for business customers.

this is a fair point. Because we forked off of the Sia project, we have a functional base network layer/protocol that currently allows WORM style data archiving. We expect it will be sometime in the summer before we have an alpha of our software product running on the network. Before then, we'll get materials out that highlight the benefits of a decentralized solution over traditional cloud. The first 4 months have been mostly about getting a clean blockchain launch, enlisting storage nodes, finding new devs and laying out a software spec. That part is done and we're moving into pushing code now. Stay tuned, it's going to be a fun year!

The quick answer to the above questions are price, maintaining complete ownership/control over data and organic redundancy based on erasure coding vs geographic dispersion of company owned datacenters. All 3 require more detailed explanations and we'll provide these soon.

Hey!

I was one of the buyers of some SC1 from Obelisk, and in the middle of those convulsive days, there was the sia hard fork. And then, SiaPrime was born.
Some months later, I couldn't be happier I choose to follow this sia friendly fork  :) I did because I believe in the core team, and because in my opinion, SiaPrime objectives seemed feasible given their experience. Some months later, we have more than 60 hosts and some big improvements are coming, and we also are in CryptoBridge.

In my case, it's my first project from the beginning and I'm very satisfied. I have 2 of these hosts and have also uploaded more than 3TB of files, and the more I'll upload when possible.

If any of you is interested in the evolution of this cryptocurrency, join our Discord, it's where the big family is it

Also not sure where you can exchange this, not finding volume.

The StrongU works on our blockchain. Anecdotal hashrates are just over 6TH. As for exchanges, we're in the speculative phase where there is mostly miners building bags for the future. There is some volume on both SouthXchange and Crypto-Bridge.

And ethereum is having celebration about their sharding network and brand-new beacon chain which comes out sept, 28. While you are entertaining your 2-inch willy with your hand and asking your mother to buy you a fake pussy coz you be smashed by shame to go and cop it yourself. You do nothing, now think about it, what a competitor you are. You are worse than quantum vacuum.

If you haven't paid attention to this project, a ton has happened and is happening

We launched the Xa-Miner  (https://xaminer.net) in 2021 and it has gone on to be the premier node building out the 65PB of capacity for business customers
We launched software licensing allowing homebrews to build their own "Xa-Miner" and be eligible to participate
We launched Xa Net Services  (https://xns.tech) which is a business grade, fully S3 compatible, object-based cloud services platform. Able to work directly with over 50,000 applications today for archival, media management, file sharing and other cloud storage capabilities. As we move forward, we'll build out services on top of the foundation such as compute, data-lakes, block storage and more.
