Title: Exchanges with OCO orders?
Post by: thegoatiest on November 08, 2018, 12:54:17 AM
Hi,
I'm keen to start trading, currently I'm just signed up to coinbase who don't have OCO (one cancels other) orders available.
My understanding is; this means you can't place a limit sell + have a stop-loss on a single position.

This seems an essential feature to me..?
The only platform I've heard of having this function is Bitfinex. I just went to sign up there, and discovered that a minimum 10,000$ balance is required.
I don't have that much to trade.

Is there another popular exchange that does have this function?
Thankyou

I was looking for exchange that has feature to setting  stop loss and sell limit at the same times,  so my trading activity will be more less risk and more profitable. Some big exchange like Binance has feature of stop limit but we can only use it for stop loss but not possible to setting sell limit at the same times. After make research all of crypto exchange,  I just found feature of trigger price in gate.io possible to use stop loss and sell limit at the same times.

I think beside Bitfinex and Gate.io , other exchange that has feature to place sell limit and stop loss in single potition is ZB.com. This is  new exchange but now already include top 10 exchange. They listed alot of potential coin to trade. I hope Binance as the biggest crypto exchange add this feature so trading will be more easy to make profit with less risk.

Primexbt (https://primexbt.com (https://primexbt.com)) has OCO orders. I think they're minimum deposit is only like 0.001 BTC, which is about $5 at the most and no deposit fees.

It's a relatively new trading platform with adjustable leverage of up to 100x and shorting. They're pretty much a direct competitor with bitmex as the only other 100x provider. The main difference is bitmex only offers 100x leverage to be applied to BTC trades, whereas primexbt is available on all of the top 5 performing assets (BTC, ETH, XRP, EOS, LTC).

If only new to trading I wouldn't recommend high leverage though as it's a far riskier way to trade.  It's best used to take advantage of small but almost certain price movements (as certain as anyone can be :P).  The higher the leverage - the smaller the margin, which means the less room there is for error in the market's movement. However you don't have to use leverage at all, you can trade as normal.

Primexbt also has some of the lowest fees (0.05%) + a really nice UI that's highly customizable (I really enjoy this aspect).

If Binance add this OCO orders will be very nice and offer alot of benefits for trader. We should be suggest Binance to add this feature, because this OCO orders is very important thing in trading. In stocks trading platform, alot of broker provide OCO orders and crypto exchange should be also provide it. All crypto exchange should be provide trading tool just like Metatrader that also available trailling stop automatic.

I want to believe that Binance is still the king of all exchanges and the most popular, It is not their popularity that makes them perfect, and they have these functions and coupled with the fact that they have the lowest trading fee for traders. Their trading fee for now is still the lowest among all exchanges which will make the trader benefits more and make more money. I know Primexbt is also good and has the function but you can try Binance too.

Yes, there is SIFR.COM, currently in test mode but you will be able to use it next month : they offer OSO and OCO orders.

Actually you can even join their trading competition here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5116868  you will test OCO features and have a chance to win up to 5 BTC.

I don't believe Binance do offer OCO orders.

I would dearly love to trade on Bitfinex. However their annoying 10k$ sign up equity prevents me as I have no where near that much money.. even temporarily.
Bitmex has these options, but I do not trust that exchange. Fishy.

For now, I'm back to binance. Please do email support if you feel like it and ask them to do oco orders... however - they don't really have any competition so there's not yet need for them to up their game (which they need to very much)

I dont find yet any exchange that have this type of order,  only stop price and stop limit. I dont know why no one exchange offer this feature,  all trader need it to make crypto trading less risk and more profitable.  Stocks trading platform is better because alot of that provide this feature. But with alot of competition between exchanges,  i think later this feature will add in the crypto exchanges.

How about Poloniex? I see that Poloniex has a stop-loss trade. Is this what you want at the image below?

If that is what you want, then I already used it for a long time ago and it still available. You should try it. But you should fill the KYC ;D

Well.
Here's the ideal setup for me.

Being able to place a stop-loss for a position of £100 - before even placing a buy order for £100.
That way, if a flash crash happens just after you buy. You don't miss the opportunity to place a stop (essential)

Also, certain types of trading, like off a trendline - you need your stop in ASAP, and if you're using limit orders to buy - then you need your stop there in advance.
You just cant do that on most exchanges.
You try to add a stop and it says you have no coin to add a stop to.

So I'd like to see a buy order form like this ideally:

[Limit:    £100             ]
[stop-limit:    £90, £87 ]

something like that. So I can buy bitcoin with a stop-loss already in place. Takes that horrible moment when your exposed without a stoploss out of the equation.

I used to trade on Bitfinex and recently switched to Prime XBT which also has OCO orders. Bitfinex gave me a taste for small scale leverage trading and shorting - but with the recent state of the sideways market, I've upped my game with higher leverage (Prime XBT offers up to 100x) to amplify small price actions without putting all my capital on the line.  This allows me to hedge my portfolio with diversification to reduce risk.  Other orders include stop-loss, protection, market, limit, and OCO as mentioned.

I do not recommend Gate.io there is not enough volume and stops doesn't work even despite 4 $ of difference, oco there is great but volume is not. I know that binance has oco on spot but not futures. Do you know any exchange with futures market and oco orders?

Binance has it if I am not wrong, I mean the stop loss and also limit sell at the same time, but I am not sure, I haven't used the feature in a long time. Most of the people who would like to use these features already moved to bots, bots basically buys and sells according to whatever you want them to do and that means features could be lacking in any exchange you want but as long as bot works it does the thing you want it to do without problem even if there is no feature because that feature is embedded in the feature itself.

Practically this is not something we could rely on as an exchange, exchanges should try to have them themselves but even the most common bot has it nowadays and they are getting quite cheap as well so I doubt it would be a reason to stop trading, you could just get a cheap bot.

Now you don't need to depend on coinbase anymore, we have Binance fully functional. I have used the OCO order many times at Binance and it is very effective. Especially never crash out of limits or automatically cancel orders when exchange gets a lot of traffic from whales. Sign up and try it out at Binance.

Yes but Binance doesn't has OCO on futures, I'm looking for a futures market with OCO, so I can play on a smaller timeframe and still maintain my money management and risk-reward ratio.

Bitfinex has OCO orders. I don't think they have futures markets but they do have high leverage perpetual swap markets for BTC, ETH, and a couple others like BTC dominance.

Binance now offers OCO orders too; maybe this thread is too old and you all have not checked Binance in sometime.

Binance usually tries to keep ahead of all competition IMHO; if u need a referral; just Pm me.  ;D

The OCO function is great. It helped me several times. Yesterday I've heard of Changelly Pro exchange and started investigating. Yet, I'm not sure whether it has OCO or not. If not, I'll be a bit disappointed.
