With thousands of new cryptos and new ones coming daily. Why don't we still have any coin that is close to Bitcoin's worth?

This is a big technical question but the response is not far fetched
We could start by analysis the growth stages, development and acceptability (the use case)

Why is there no crypto that is older than bitcoin ??

Bitcoin is simply perfect and unique both in usefulness and even the name

I think it is because bitcoin is the most trusted coin of all than any crypto in the market, even it is too expensive and yet more people want to invest on it or converted their altcoins to become bitcoin.

Probably due to trust. Many people still prefer bitcoin over other crypto coins especially the new projects. Mostly trade their alts into bitcoin when they gain profits. Actually I did the same, its but I trade it to ethereum instead of bitcoin.

BTC is the first crypto and all coins are pared with BTC. so usage of BTC is so high. also its the most using crypto currency in stores and airports. but in near future i think other coins also will catch BTC price . because new coins have better tech than BTC

it seems true because so far no one has been able to approach bitcoin because bitcoin is a very strong coin to pump up the price, so whenever that bitcoin will still be king or number one coin in the crypto world

I think its how established bitcoin has been as a brand. Since it is the oldest crpto out there many people have trust in its use and structure unlike new ICOs whereby some of them might be a scam.

BTC is a coin that can be said to be a surge in price and no one understands why the BTC price so high, so I think we should consider before investing in electronic money. At present, the price of coins keeps going down, no coin rising as BTC.

there is a very serious problem in the altcoin market and it has existed from early days but it is only becoming worse and worse as the time goes by. the problem is that people care only about making money and nothing else. you can clearly see that the focus of majority of new projects these days is to make money and nothing else. this goes as far as killing innovation! we haven't had any good innovative project for a very long time and even if we have some it will be buried under the pump and dump coins!

wrong. bitcoin is pretty good and has lots of usages but it is far from perfect. there is a lot of room for improvement and that means there is opportunity for competition.

i disagree. i believe it is because others are not-trusted and bad.
otherwise i strongly believe that if some day we see a really good cryptocurrency that actually solves some of bitcoin's problems (instead of pretending in their advertisements) then it can become as big as bitcoin if not bigger.

Bitcoin is like a central banks to other cryptocurrencies and as such it has to dominate the market.  We are at the time when bitcoin is drawing many others coins along with it if it is getting bullish and likewise bearish trend.  I think other coins can only grow when bitcoin is growing and if you want to invest in any other coins you have to see what is happening to bitcoin first.

How long has Bitcoin existed? How old are these altcoins?
I do not know whether an altcoin will come near Bitcoin's worth but these altcoins also need time to established themselves. Many among them are just around two or three years old.

First of all it should be a crypto currency that based on technology stronger than bitcoin, it should be accepted be whole crypto community, allow payments and transactions with misery commission fee and should bound all crypto currencies. I think it will never happen.

Supply and demand are two things that can create prices, Bitcoin can reach its current price because it is rare and has high market demand, while most Altcoins have a lot of supply and their market demand is lower than Bitcoin, these differences make Altcoin prices tend to be lower than Bitcoin

The answer to this question might be very simple or complex. The simple answer is because there is no Cryptocurrency until this very moment has a value greater or even equal to the value of Bitcoin. The long answer would be even tho there is a lot of coins surpass Bitcoin in term of technology no coin will surpass or come close to Bitcoin value because the value of Bitcoin is, not in the technology it present at the moment, there are a lot more factors that weight in Bitcoin side, for example, Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency ever and it is the backbone of the whole Cryptocurrencies.

Other altcoins are not close to bitcoin in value because bitcoin is way far developed and trusted than altcoins,  most altcoins developers ain't committed to the development of the project whitepaper and roadmap like bitcoin has done over the years. All altcoins can achieve the tremendous growth and success like bitcoin if they can work hard in the development of the project

That is simply because each and every coin is unique with its own coin economy, popularity, use cases and multiple other factors, so i do not thing its about comparing prices, the strongest btc contender is eth but then again eth has larger supply  although at the moment eth is very undervalued but i do not think even eth can grow more than btc, certainly not in near future.

to me, the answer is always the same - btc was the first to get such a promotion, the first in general and it has never been a scam. it has a reputation, a name, so people tend to trust it

You are right, BTC is more popular and trusted coin in crypto trading. People were shocked last year after seeing it was over the moon and this made them to trust most and  they started investing in this coin.

So far nobody beats the King of Crypto no matter what are the pretenders are saying against it. The originality of the first one has been one of the biggest advantages of Bitcoin and this can be going on for the next few many years maybe. No coin is able to detached itself from the movement and influence of Bitcoin so all of them are just possible heir to the throne. We still do not know if there can be a time when Bitcoin can be dislodge from its prominence and which heir can take the crown. All the shenanigans of people who are pushing their own self-vested interests are just that...shenanigans!

maybe it is also because that bitcoin is supported by many large asic miners and thus has the strongest network. no other coin has such a network and therefore maybe not such a price, but that is just my guess and no specialist knowledge.

Community trust. Maybe that's the reason I have, in my opinion until the price of bitcoin can be very high as it is today because there are many people or investors who believe in bitcoin as a good place to invest. Unlike other altcoins that sometimes still make investors feel doubtful.

The answer is very simple, because bitcoin is the best known crypto and the only one that was able to spark the interest of large investors such as institutional investors. It is no wonder that it is the only crypto that is possible to trade Futures and that is awaiting the approval of the ETFs.

Even if you continue to ask this question and search for another 10 years, I am quite sure you won't see any coin that can match up with the worth of Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the Alpha and Omega of cryptocurrency, the beginning and the end. No other coin can measure up to it.

Bitcoin is doing great on its own until some fraud people launch coins and do an ICO and this has messed up everything, Bitcoin gives 100% trust to Bitcoin because this is a true decentralized coin in the market today being the original and the one that started it all, people will always trust Bitcoin even if there are so many fork in the market.

I recall that primalbase token at the early stage surpasses bitcoin price, why? probably because the initial price was set to be high but however it seems the community have forgotten this coin, now only left a half of value and the volume is shrinking.

Bitcoins marketcap is around $110-B and the next one (#2) is Ethereum and its total market cap is $21-B.

So that's far from bitcoin and no other coin can surpass it because bitcoin is the number one choice of most in the community.

I think.so, and the trust come from.the community. Till.this day, even in bearish, Bitcoin price is still more expensive than last year. But you can see others, the prices is cheaper than last year

This requires a technical breakthrough, but it is very difficult. The technological revolution can make a breakthrough. I believe that Bitcoin will be surpassed in the future, but the coins that can now surpass it have not yet appeared. Bitcoin is still the king of cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency that people found out about. And so far, apparently, most of the people have heard only about Bitcoin. The media raised the hype also almost only mentioning Bitcoin, when the cryptocurrency began to rise in price. If you understand the current state of development of blockchain basic technology, you will understand that most of the altcoins are now in the air.
In the current imperfect underlying technology, blindly developing blockchain commercial use is almost a scam because they are impossible to achieve in 3-5 years.
Therefore, it is currently impossible for any altcoin to reach Bitcoin's worth.

Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency and it manages to gain the heart of investors and with scaleable usability it got more popular than every other coins ,many people who knows nothing about cryptocurrency must have heard about bitcoin but not altcoins ,its because of its popularity.

Because everything that came after $Bitcoin, has been a scam! with greedy dev who want what the technology can do for them (Make them wealthy), as against what the technology can do for the masses! Besides $Bitcoin is been fought by all of these other coins because every dev wants popularity and trust which just doesn't come in a day, they forget $Bitcoin was first, has walked a tight rope to get to its current status, and satoshi never put selfishness before the problem the technology seeks to solve. $Bitcoin is trusted that is why its price remains higher! no altcoin will ever get near.

I think it is because Bitcoin is the pioneer of all the cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin has proven all these years beyond every doubt that it is the best. Then it has got a lot of trust from people.

I think because Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency, most of people believe in Bitcoin's stable, believe it is the most valuable coin and they feel safe when holding bitcoin rather than altcoins. Bitcoin is more widely accepted than other cryptocurrencies so it has high price.

i think it is because bitcoin has the most support from all crypto currencys. no other coin is so well-known and accepted by so many people as a payment method. moreover, it is the key currency in a huge market. i think that is why his price is so high.

In my observation, no other cryptocurrency has been able to near the price value of btc wherein next to it which is ETH had been way down compared to the previous market value. BTC is the most trusted cryptocurrency and many investors are investing wherein it had remained to dominate the number 1 rank in the crypto market.

Bitcoin is the foundation of all crypto coins and supported all of it. There is nothing that can beat bitcoin because bitcoin is unique on its function that cannot be found on other. Altcoins mostly created but become scam after the development and even supporters cannot gain from it. For sure, even for long time there is nothing that can be worth more than bitcoin.

See there is no coin near to bitcoin's worth, however, coins like Paragon, Cardano and Ripple are great for earnings and profitability. They have some great projects. They can meet Bitcoin's value.

Bitcoin is the parent of all altcoins, so I think it will be very difficult for other crypto to get close to the price of Bitcoin, even though the second highest BCH has not been able to approach the price of Bitcoin, but in the crypto world nothing is impossible, maybe in the next few years crypto which will approach the price of Bitcoin.

Actually I don't have the real answer or at lest the proper answer, but let me think loudly , Bitcoin is the Godfather of cryptocurrencies and it's used as fuel of blockchain network, the total supply of Bitcoin is 21 millions with circulating supply more than 17 millions and the bitcoin is the base currency in almost all exchanges and all coins/tokens traded against Bitcoin.

For now it's indeed difficult because the bearish market is still fertile, but if it is over, I am sure there is one crypto currency that can compete with us, we will see it like FOIN which is growing rapidly and can compete with fork from bitcoin like BCH. I hope that from the few coins that I have can rival other projects

Yeah, great question! Since bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency, holders of bitcoin just made sure that it will stay on top. We may never know how things turned out the way it is now with bitcoin surges in price. Maybe because of the manipulators which are the early holders. Or may be new holders but huge holders. Maybe the only way to have a coin better than bitcoin is the first coin to go mainstream adoption.

Perhaps because Bitcoin performs the functions of a means of payment. (trading pairs) And the functions of the means of accumulation (people have more confidence in it). Many people still prefer bitcoin over other crypto coins. And people treat new projects as a way to make money.

I don't think any coin will come close to bitcoin.  This is because bitcoin price too will not stay stagnant and creation of more coin on the blockchain will boost bitcoin. The only think that can make any coin come close to bitcoin is if they create another technology that is better than bitcoin's blockchain

Aside from being the first cryptocurrency that shows innovation to the current financial transactions, it is also the way bitcoins have been mined. Its really hard to acquire bitcoin back then, of course now, you can buy them instantly. It's the trust and confidence made by bitcoin holders that makes the community of bitcoin bigger and bigger.

Because there is no cryptocurrency like bitcoin to date. And Bitcoin is unique, other altcoins can't compare to the bitcoin of history and price, never have any altcoin can achieve the price of BTC

If there would be a coin that will replace bitcoin it would take a long time to overtake, because not just the altcoin is improving also bitcoin constantly adding more feature like lightning network to solve the transaction fee and confirmation time problem.

indeed many new coins are coming but that does not guarantee that it can compete with bitcoin and other altcoins and that it takes a long time for new coins to compete at the current top altcoin there are some that in my opinion have a high potential to approach the price of bitcoin in the future, namely ETH, NEO and EOS. The altcoin has a clear concept and large volume.

To date there is no crypto that comes close to bitcoin in terms of usability and adoption. It's also one of the most decentralized of coins. Finally it was the first so already had a big advantage over the others.

The market of crypto-currencies is relatively young, and to repeat the fate of Bitcoin, or to reach such a price level is impossible at the moment, because Bitcoin is the first crypto-currency with its unique technology. You know bitcoin is giant for crypto, that is mother of cryptocurrency and of course we are no doubt if buy bitcoin. Also Bitcoin using for trading pair in any coin, that one reason we can't stop btc's popular and make people go out with their btc.

There is none. You have to take into account a lot of factors like the fact that bitcoin was the first coin in the market, it was a year before another cryptocurrency was made after bitcoin came out. Bitcoin has had a lot of time to evolve and mature for it to get to the point that it is right now. It will take the other coins time to get to the point that bitcoin is now

Because no coins were much old as bitcoin so the bitcoin is more recognized and it has more demand so the price also more when compared to the new infants which aslo just same as the bitcoin in the action.But any coin can be worth as much or more than bitcoin when it has enough demand for that so it based on their usage will be determined,

I think investors are not ready yet to switch to altcoins. Because the market dominance of Bitcoin is very big at this moment and I hope things will change with the upcoming bull run trend. It is time for a new crypto to be on the top.

Looking at how slowly Bitcoin adoption has been going, we can imagine how much time it would take for people to believe in a new coin even if it was much superior in many ways. Theoretically it could take 10 years for such a coin to replace BTC, but in practice I think it will never happen. The thing is that Bitcoin doesn't stay stagnant and wait until some other coin will surpass it. It is, in fact, a living and continuously evolving project with a great team behind, which makes it almost impossible for another coin to replace it. In short, I believe that Bitcoin can solve its problems by itself faster than a coin in which those problems are solved can be adopted on a large scale.

BTC  is the first crypto coin and with regards to How long it has been in existence, it is therefore trusted by multitude unlike other coins that sometimes turn out to be a scam.

Worth in terms of price of bitcoins? then no. But worth in terms of the value of the asset in particular, then I say yes there are crypto tokens that since it was enlisted on exchange has given a return similar or more than bitcoin has given back.

One reason is that Bitcoin and Ethereum are the only cryptos that have sufficient liquidity in the market with fiat currency parity while other crypto are usually traded only with Bitcoin or Ethereum parity.

Bitcoin is definitely the most recognized out of all the cryptos out there. There are people to whom you can say Ethereum or Ripple and they don't have a clue what you are talking about. But when mentioning Bitcoin they immediately know that BTC is a cryptocurrency.

To be honest, there are 3 coins that indeed are worth more than BTC is, but the 3 ain't popular or widespread through exchanges so they have no liquidity at any kind.

It isn't only about the trust but its about the adoption that its getting worldwide.

People don't just want to use and invest to a coin that's not so familiar with them and bitcoin has real usage. Unlike other coins that are also taking the title of bitcoin and wants to replace its throne, they don't have use case and that's why it can't take over bitcoin's worth. Maybe someday in the future, a coin will reach $5,000 - $10,000 but imagine on how high bitcoin would be by that time.

The reasons are simple and clear, bitcoin have been existing for approximately a decade now and those that developed it are really committed and didn't do it because of selfish interest unlike it's widely practiced by ICOs today and second thing is bitcoin has earned trust of people resulting in wide adoption of bitcoin translating into huge demand and supply of bitcoin that make it grow like this and never stop growing.. Other cryptos have to fully develop their roadmap conscientiously to grow well and possibly match up with bitcoin

There are many possible reasons why bitcoin remain on top of the cryptos. First of all, cryptomarket at this moment is on downtrend giving a hardtime for cryptos to have a price increase. Another thing is the demand from the community of users. Bitcoin is a huge crypto due to its large community of users. Its market value havr continuously grew. And also, how long does bitcoin exist has a huge impact.

The worth of altcoins in comparison to that of BTC is more of that of trust than price. Bitcoin seems to be the most trusted crypto out there in the space and even those outside know BTC before any other coin. Also, it has the biggest community than any other alt

A lot of coins maybe have the most tpx, but if nobody uses it, is it worth something? My bet is on the blockchains who have the biggest communities and connections to businesses and have decent or better tech. The phrase "better tech wins" is just not true.

We cant make any possible comparison of prices from bitcoin to just a new launched coin. Bitcoin's price reached that peak due to long time lapse. In 2010, bitcoins price was just a cents, and not it is peaking. So we cannot make simple comparison on it on the tokens that is just newly created and compared to bitcoin.

If worth is in terms of value, there a lot of cryptos higher than Bitcoin in terms of price but usually with very low market cap and supply. It is already known that the price of every crypto is the market cap divided by the circulating supply, for a coin with 100 circulating supply and maybe a marketcap of $1,000,000 will have a coin higher in price  than Bitcoin
