Title: Bitcoin will be replace by ALTS in the future?
Post by: jademaxsuy on November 09, 2018, 03:15:51 PM
Hello guys! As usual my habit is to check this website https://coinmarketcap.com/ for crypto market price. I saw that bitcoin still dominate in the market.

Take a look in this picture.

https://i.imgur.com/Vi3gycP.jpg

The Bitcoin Dominance recorded is still at 52.3%

This is why Bitcoin is the most expensive crypto in the market. But, there is one thing also that struck me and that is the growing number of crypto in the market.

https://i.imgur.com/AqbvBtx.jpg

It was recorded at 2093 cryptocurrencies being listed in coinmarketcap and does not include some crypto that are not listed on coinmarketcap for now. So many cryptocurrency to choose from so brace yourself on what crypto will you should consider to contribute or invest.

Bitcoin vs. Altcoins

https://i.imgur.com/fZLsW2D.jpg

I get this graph from coinhills (https://www.coinhills.com/statistics/volume-bitcoin-altcoin/) that shows the trend chart of Bitcoin volume strength versus Altcoins. A great number of altcoins combine will soon going to surpass bitcoin and remove its dominant in the market and probably few crypto will dominate in the altcoins group in the near future.

The question is that: Is there any possibility that dominant altcoins will take over bitcoin in the ranking in the future?

Theoretically very possible; but very unlikely in my opinion, especially in the short term. Bitcoin simply has the biggest network effect compared to all the altcoins we have right now combined. Next to Bitcoin, Ethereum, definitely can take over Bitcoin. It's going to be very difficult though, as Ethereum would need a few solid apps that's actually useful enough for the normal folks to choose the Ethereum dapp over a faster and centralized alternative.

An altcoin to replace Bitcoin as a currency though? A lot more unlikely personally. Even the next-in-line currency coin we have, litecoin, is heavily behind compared to bitcoin. I honestly don't even know what advantage litecoin has compared to bitcoin; besides the faster and cheaper txs, that would probably be irrelevant after lightning network gets widespread.

Bear in mind that altcoins is not a currency, but a general term used to describe all other coins apart from bitcoin.
So the remaining 2092 coins share less than 50% of the market.

New coins come out everyday, some shitcoins and some gems.
The ever expanding market means bitcoin's dominance would reduce without direct loss of investments.

In today's conditions, it is very difficult for any altcoin to replace Bitcoin. No crypto is strong enough to do that. But it's hard to guess what will happen 10 years from now. Perhaps Bitcoin is worth 100 times as it is today! There will be people who will not. 10 years ago, however, Bitcoin's value was almost zero.

To be candid, No altcoin will displace Bitcoin in the nearest future because these two cryptocurrency are different. We all know Bitcoin to be the mainstream manifestation of the Blockchain technology and others as alts of the former, so, the concept of Bitcoin will make it more stronger to stay at the top in dominance of the altcoins. Altcoins be created everyday doesn't mean they will dominate Bitcoin or displace Bitcoin on CMC.

Alt coins are increasing with time and their use are also increasing this is may be the reason that bitcoin is very expensive and when some one is ready to accept altcoins then it is easy for every one to pay in that so with this the altcoins are increasing and they have good values so i believe that bitcoin is more powerful than any of altcoins but smart people uses bitcoin for every transactions and altcoin is based on giver and accepted will.

A huge possibility in the future but as of now, this is really not possible. Market dominance is just a statistic of total market share in the whole cryptospace, and does not necessarily state the interest of people long-term in a particular coin. If something better proved to be worthy that can replace bitcoin, people will go there and use it for their own sake, but so far, altcoins are only good for short-term investments and most companies/institutions still choose bitcoin over any other altcoin existing in the market. It will take a lot of development and years before bitcoin can finally be dethroned--well it might not come anyway so who's waiting?

I really don't know about that statement. There are only a very few altcoins I know that can actually be used right now. Probably 99% are still just whitepapers. About price, well, altcoins go up with bitcoin as bitcoin goes up in price. The alternatives to bitcoin are either too centralized or too unsecure. Speed and cheapness of transaction fees shouldn't be our main criteria.

yeah, maybe. bitcoin being replaced by something better some day is a possibility but the reason for it is not what you said.
for example what you are posting here has nothing to do with "dominance" of bitcoin. what that number and the percentage with it shows is the fact that the cryoptocurrency market is flooded by a lot of shitcoins. if you throw a diamond in a pile of dog shit, that doesn't mean the value of that diamond goes down, and it doesn't increase the value of that dog shit. everything keeps its own value!

as for volume, bitcoin is still the dominating volume which also keeps the same level unlike altcoins which go up during their pump and dumps and then fall to nothingness afterwards.

If you add all the shitcoins to coinmarketcap then it is likely that altcoins has already surpassed bitcoin. Based on the coins that are already listed i would say it will happen due to a ripple pump

There is a reason why any other coin other than the bitcoin is called Alternative coins, and it means they are there simply because of the bitcoin,or used when one cant get his or her hands on the bitcoin
At the moment I do not actually think there is any Altcoin that can light/hold a candle to the bitcoin..

Bitcoin definitely is the king of the crptocurrency world, higher value, higher price, higher volume, more stability and was the first cryptocurrency ever created...
We can't tell what will happen in the future, but rational wise, the bitcoin will always remain king

Well everything is possible but at this time and market situation i doubt that will happen soon. Bitcoin dominance is more than 50% for more than half a year this year. Still good to keep a close watch and always be aware with the market situation.

I don't think so. Of all the cryptocurrencies we have right now, bitcoin is actually the most accessible simply because bitcoin is the most adopted coin right now when talking about exchanges or global adoption in general. The "cant get his or her hands on the bitcoin" reasoning doesn't make sense at all.

The way I see this whole issue about altcoins replacing bitcoin is like how people kept saying bitcoin will replace fiat. Both are well-established and it will take a long time and a very compelling reason why these two will fall and be replaced by other (crypto)currencies.

In theory yes it is possible in future but, practically it will be very hard for Alts to reach that price level. As Bitcoin is most paired coin in exchanges. This is the primary reason why Alts bleed when Bitcoin goes down.

In order for any ALTs to be the number one it should first become the most paired crypto in any exchange, which practically is not possible.

I think it is mostly impossible for any other altcoins. It is much difficult for altcoin to replace with bitcoin. Bitcoin has great potential and good values. Still it is the king in the crypto market. I think bitcoin will be unbeatable in the future.

Inevitably bitcoin will lose dominance over time because of the sheer number of alt-coins that it's competing against. The fact it's remained above 50% for so long just highlights the strength of bitcoin. I also think that inevitably bitcoin will one day be replaced as the top cryptocurrency but it won't be any time soon. Like all technology, eventually new tech comes that blows the old tech out of the water.

Exchanges of Altcoins are always based on bitcoin and for further increase in the price of bitcoin the same goes with altcoins they will simply need each other to take down their father Bitcoin, But if an Altcoin is created with a new blockchain on hand then there might be a contender that will stand alone  with all the rest, So basically Bitcoin will still be the reigning champion until the end, This is just my assumption in the way cryptocurrency works because ETH does stand a chance in giving a deliberate all attack on bitcoin so other Altcoins will not either.

Is there any possibility that dominant altcoins will take over bitcoin in the ranking in the future?

Previously we had to understand that bitcoin and alts were different, they had a different focus on work. But there are some coins that are said to be substituted for bitcoin, namely litecoin. Although I did not find that litecoin is better than bitcoin because the main bitcoin network is higher than litecoin. While Doge coin is also assumed to be the most suitable coin as a payment tool than bitcoin but the fact is that bitcoin still dominates the cryptocurrency market.

ETH, EOS, XRP, NEM, they are different. Their main goal will not replace bitcoin, but it will serve as an alternative to crypto. in fact, they also accept bitcoin as the main transaction.

There have been numerous times where bitcoin has lost momentum yet no altcoin has been able to replace it, why? Because no matter how small the btc dominance is (which is just a silly number), alts won't be able to replace the most accepted and most used cryptocurrency in the world. So, what makes you think that this is gonna change in the future when adoption grows worlwide? Once the adoptions phase kicks in, it'll be very hard for the rest of the market to keep up with the increasing interest around bitcoin.

I think that it will never going to happen in crypto currency history because the bitcoin is the king of all crypto currency and it will going to accepting over the world, the bitcoin have own great community they will always support bitcoin so there is no way any other alts coins replace bitcoin in crytpto market.

In my opinion we will return to the times where BTC will have let's say just 30% of the total market cap. But I also agree that Altcoins will not replace BTC, atleast not as the prime value storage. But as a transactional money Alts will maybe replace BTC.

I am not so sure if there are altcoins that will replace Bitcoin in the future because many people use altcoin as a goal to collect bitcoin.
The interest in bitcoin is very high compared to altcoin, it is impossible if there is a market volume that dominates other than bitcoin.
For example, such as Ethereum, which is now starting to be quiet, but we know that Ethereum was initially predicted to rival the dominance of bitcoin.

Bitcoin still well known among crypto users, for now still no coin able to compete with Bitcoin, from the transaction volume until the popularity, and Bitcoin already being used in some stores, if the altcoin could grow better than Bitcoin then maybe it could replace Bitcoin in the future

Yes, Bitcoin is the representation of cryptocurrencies to the world and it is like a Brand or household name. For that reason and also because its investors will not leave Bitcoin, it will remain the most dominant coin for a long time to come. But I would not be surprised if we see other coins having more transaction volume than BTC or other coins having more adoption as a payment currency for goods and services, not to say that already at this time other projects have a lot more features (like smart contracts, dapps).

Getting into bitcoin, thinking an altcoin will one day be more valuable, then wasting your bitcoin on altcoins that die and THEN hodling mostly bitcoin --- is the bitcoin life cycle.

You never value bitcoin more than after you've lost some "investing" in shitcoins.

I never for one moment thought that Bitcoin will always be the most dominant coin on the market, but it will surely not be dethroned by the Alt coins that are there at the moment. The coin will have to be faster, more efficient, more secure than Bitcoin and that is not going to happen soon.

The Bitcoin developers are not sitting back and waiting for another coin to dethrone it, they are constantly adding new changes, like side-chains <Lightning Network>, to improve it.  ;D

I think Bitcoin Dominance might go down a little bit in the future but I also believe Bitcoin will always be the store of value for generations to come because it was what made blockchain technology what it is today. We may see the dominance in a boom period go to around 35-405 as alts get pumped up for huge growth cycles, but in a bearish market I believe Bitcoin will always have the most prevalent dominance, technologically wise though, Bitcoin will be surpassed by other tech and blockchains.

I agree. Why in the world would anyone in their right mind believe in something like this happening in the future? This is quite silly in my opinion. Bitcoin is the leader and will always be the leader no matter what happens.

Bitcoin has gone through ups and downs, but has always retained its top position in the cryptocurrency market no matter what and the gap between it and the remaining altcoins is quite big which is not going to be filled no matter what.

bitcoin won't be as easy as it can be replaced by any coin, now even though altcoin has a lot of types and prices vary but I think bitcoin will still continue to be the best coin in crypto. but altcoin can compete with bitcoin if altcoin can provide good development.

Yes because bitcoin has limited supply and it already hardforked many times, so i think one of it's "child" will be the next btc.
It could be no because bitcoin is already too famous and people won't invest anything besides it.

I think I would have to disagree wherein I believe this will not happen for now and in the coming years to come as btc is the major cryptocurrency that really evolves in the market. This is why many people are supporting and investing btc since this is the only existing currency that could guarantee good return of investment. The profit that is gained from the btc investors is great and not comparable with the altcoins. BTC market is usually the baseline of any market trends either be it uptrend or down trend market.

well in crypto world anything could happening. Bitcoin use seems got replaced by stable coins. You can see the volume of trading in several big exchange, people are prefer to do trading with usdt pairing rather than bitcoin. I believe someday bitcoin will lose number one position in future but i believe it will takes a lot of time cause in my opinion btc still stronger and etf could make it more stronger.

yes, I think this makes sense. Limited bitcoin inventory, the growth of altcoin every day always creates bullish without bitcoin, and every day new crypto always comes. then the popularity of bitcoin will be low.

the stability of bitcoin today is being held by investors who are trapped in high bitcoin volatility in 2017 and some new investors. but, I am sure that the popularity of bitcoin will last for a long time.

No the alts will never over take from bitcoins, even with them running in hundreds they can't beat the popularity that bitcoins get. It's pertinent to remember that bitcoins prices will always recover, but once alts crash they take years to recover, for example look what happened to bitcoins cash. If you see adoption wise people prefer to have bitcoins in a trade deal, only few other alts are accepted, hence I don't believe alts will take over bitcoins.

Bitcoin will not be replace by alts as bitcoin is more popular and many company already started to accept bitcoin as their payment method. I think when there will be no bitcoin, there will be no alt coin in this world.
That is natural because Bitcoin has a very good level of trust by the public. Bitcoin is the main currency that has been trusted and has been used by various sectors. There are even several large companies that apply Bitcoin to their financial systems. There is nothing strange, when the Bitcoin market controls the global market today. Even in the future I am sure the role of Bitcoin will be far greater than Altcoin. This is a fact and we see all of these facts as something to look forward to.

Bitcoin will still be an extraordinary digital coin, the role and benefits of Bitcoin will be used by more and more people in the world.

The question is that: Is there any possibility that dominant altcoins will take over bitcoin in the ranking in the future?
No one knows what will happen in the future but I can say that there is a chance for that to happen. But I do believe in bitcoin even if it was replaced by alts , im still here supporting bitcoin. Bitcoin already overcome so many problems so no matter what happens I will stick to bitcoin.

People are comparing bitcoin to altcoin they are both good , but bitcoin is more popular. So I can say that its possible but it will take a long time. I cant see that altcoin can surpass the number of investors of bitcoin. As the day passes by bitcoin getting popular so that is my opinion.

Everything is possible. Nothing is indispensable in this world. Even the strongest and wisest king can be dethroned. But the task of overthrowing bitcoin would not be easy for any alt which wishes to snatch its throne. Bitcoin has already established itself and a solid community which backs it up. Yeah, there are actually a lot of coins created that are better than bitcoin in terms of features, like ETH which transaction confirmation is more speedy than BTC and XRP which is a lot cheaper, but bitcoin stood invincible ever since. Currently, I've no idea what could possibly lead bitcoin to step down from the limelight, but it doesn't necessarily follow it won't happen so we shouldn't discount that possibility. Better hodl both bitcoin and good alts to be safe.

Majority of investors see altcoins as short-term investments and most of them prefer bitcoin when compared with any altcoin. Bitcoin will stay to be at the top in dominance and the most important coin on market for years. Altcoins which are created continously doesn't mean they will dominate Bitcoin just because they are very large in number.

Bitcoin and altcoins have different purposes. I don’t think that Altcoins will replace Bitcoin. There is no need for that. At the moment, altcoins need to focus on the implementation of the planned one. Blockchains of large companies can become serious competitors for altcoins.

NO other coin can compete with bitcoin and altcoin have limited users are it can be associated with some people with some projects but bitcoin is a universal currency and it is acceptable to the world and altcoin are also very good and growing but we can not give the value to it as bitcoin is and crypto is more valuable than any other coins and it will not replace bitcoin because of it's strong impact on the whole crypto market.

although now the altcoin position in Crypto has a large variety of choices, I think this is something that is not easy to happen. Bitcoin's position is too strong in crypto, maybe altcoin can only be an altcoin companion coin and if it replaces bitcoin it still can't be predicted.

For as long as altcoins are tied to Bitcoin, then there is no way Bitcoin can be replaced by altcoins. Ethereum and EOS Blockchains are still tied to Bitcoin thus Bitcoin will always dominate the market, for now.

Bitcoin can't be replaced by any altcoin in the future unless the governments all over the world combine to form a new coin and that will be good enough to replace bitcoin. There have been many problems with bitcoin protocol in the past and the BIP is established to overcome those problems and make bitcoin better in the future so the problems we face today with bitcoin like the high transaction confirmation times etc will be past when they will be solved in the coming future and that shows how bitcoin is controlling the market and dominant.

I think in this present cryptocurrency mmarket and functions it will be really difficult for any Altcoin to replaced or take the place of bitcoin, not because bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency coin but because it play allot of row in crypto world. So it will really take long time for any Altcoin to get there.

The innovation of cryptocurrency comes through bitcoin so I don't believe it will be possible for any ALTCoin to replace bitcoin in future. Moreover bitcoin has keep its position as the leading coin on blockchain through security and value which makes many investors feel comfortable storing it as investment for future benefits

Don't get me wrong. I am a bitcoin enthusiast, but my business and marketing background is telling me that a product being a pioneer does not always guarantee that it will always remain on top. What bitcoin has done is pave the way for cryptocurrencies to exist. But what if an altcoin with better features will come to exist?

I totally see this as an impossible mission for altcoins. If you asked me why they are growing stronger day in and day out, I would simply say it’s because there is a strong coin in the market in the name of bitcoin to which they (altcoins) make reference to. Most of these altcoins have one or more things in common with bitcoin. So I think altcoins will still remain under bitcoin.

The total market share of altcoins will likely grow, as more and more currencies appear and take some money out of other coins, including btc. This money mostly comes from people willing to take risks and invest in something that may either make them a fortune or nullify their investments.  However, they only possible replacer for btc is Ripple, as it's backed up with big money. I don't see other possibilities, but of course, they may arise in the future.

According to me, it is not possible to overtake Bitcoin. Bitcoin will be number one cryptocurrency all the time and no altcoins can replaced it. Bitcoin price will increase very hardly in future.
I also think that its not going to happen, some says that it is possible in some manner but I say that its not going to happen even with those possibilities.

Numerous alts are there and if there will be one that will dominate the market including bitcoin then what it will be?

all altcoin is traded to bitcoin vice versa
for me how can other altcoin dominate the market if they cant be traded in other altcoin like bitcoin
but who know what can happen someday its just my opinion

None of the existing altcoins can replace Bitcoin. Probably, in the future some cryptocurrency that can really replace BTC will appear. Now, it is not simply possible. People love Bitcoin too much.

not only that altcoin cannot replace bitcoin, but in terms of altcoin and bitcoin prices the comparison is still far, so whenever that bitcoin will become the number one coin until there are coins that can match the value of bitcoin

I also guess that it would be difficult for an altcoin to surpass what bitcoin have right now. Though it may seems that the down fall of market of bitcoin extended until now and it seems that it happened for a long run but it doesn't mean that the value of bitcoin are also become less. I'd still believe that bitcoin is the superior coin among all cryptocurrency.

Only new projects are deceiving many investors, most of the altcoins that have been listed on some exchanges do not fool investors. Indeed, there is little chance for altcoin to take over the price of bitcoin. Bitcoin prices always go up every year as well as altcoins, but we don't know the conditions that will occur in the future. Everyone's thinking will change, it could be when there is an altcoin that really functions as what everyone wants so many people switch their investments to the altcoin and make the price higher, it can happen.

Nothing is impossible in this world, but to defeat the dominance of Bitcoin on the crypto market it is very difficult because we all know Bitcoin is the parent of all the current altcoins, almost all crypto mimic Bitcoin. So far what I have seen is that altcoin is only used as a short-term investment to generate profits quickly and Bitcoin remains the main goal as a place to store assets, because people are more comfortable saving money in Bitcoin than in altcoin, maybe because the risk of losing in Bitcoin is very small and potential big profits.

Bitcoin destroyed almost 70% of ATH 2017 (https://athcoinindex.com/), it was a big risk. In fact, some traders turn to stable coins. Maybe you can read this as a consideration: the rise of bitcoin and the fall of alts since 20 june 2017 (https://medium.com/@BambouClub/the-rise-of-bitcoin-and-the-fall-of-alts-since-20-june-2017-2caa19555bf0).
Then, can stable coins be considered as alts? What do you think about it?

Bitcoin dominance cannot be substitute into Altcoins in the future rather Bitcoin will grow more stronger than what is be seen. Your image actually show that Bitcoin is at the top while more of Altcoins are be created every now and then to have more of the market, due to this happenings by Altcoins will not still make it dominance to supersede that of Bitcoin.

With the incredible low quality that most altcoins have I will say that the chances that bitcoin is replaced by altcoins in the future is very low, it is true there are some quality projects out there but those are the minority and even those projects have no chance to surpass bitcoin because many of them do not really do anything that you cannot do with bitcoin alone.

People believe in everything they read, even thou experienced members here on forum always talk about not trusting anyone, and double checking every information. I think it would not be so easy to take the place of bitcoin for any Altcoin according to the today's situation. But it is also very difficult to guess what will happen after about 10 years from today. It may be that bitcoin could become 100 times as compared to today, because the price of Bitcoin was not so high as 10 years ago as it is today.

Replacing Bitcoin with Alts is very hard as Bitcoin has been accepted by almost 90% and miner support is also their. It is not controlled by any one and all projects are valued through bitcoin as bitcoin is the currency. But other alts are based on projects and if the project is lost value then automatically it will lose its value.

They all have their + and -
Bitcoin won't be replaced by another altcoin but people may prefer to use another one for several reasons, privacy, Tx fees,...etc. You maybe prefer Doge for a cheaper transaction fee, Horizen for a better privacy than BTC or ETH for a smart contract, and so on...

Like Herbert correctly pointed out, its not about the price. Platinum is not going to replace Gold for jewelry even if its price is higher  ;D

On the utility side I don't agree with you Herbert, the only utility that bitcoin provides, it is the most trusted value storage in the crypto sphere, maybe even in regard with FIAT currencies  ;) While this is a very important utility, in my opinion Bitcoin has no other use cases. It is not very efficient as an exchange medium (expensive and slow) and it has no smart contracts and similar applications. For that reason there is a need for Alts and for everything other than value storage (here Bitcoin will remain King) Alts have or will replace Bitcoin.

You can't compare it that way, because is 1 vs 2000. Maybe all alts together can compete vs bitcoin, but if we are talking about a replacement then it should be with only one coin. Years ago people used to thing ETH could be the coin who replace bitcoin because it has 'better' features, but now people think BCH could be that coin who replace bitcoin, at the end that will not happen, bitcoin will just stay on the top.

We also want to have more Altcoins and be able to compete with Bitcoin. But it can not replace Bitcoin i think it is very difficult when Altcoins are more dependent on Bitcoin. A few days ago the Bitcoin went down it make the Altcoins affected.and decreased.

I think don't it's easy for Altcoin to replace Bitcoin in the future. but maybe the altcoin price can exceed the price of bitcoin. Why ? because bitcoin is a pioneer, altcoin growers are becoming much like now because of the existence of bitcoin. there are also many altcoins that use the bitcoin platform. so it will be difficult altcoin can replace bitcoin.

The share of altcoins grow, but that's more because many new alts appear every day and take some share of btc. In my opinion, btc won't be replace by any of the alts existing today except for ripple/ethereum/eos, especially ripple and eos, which both have enormous money behind them. Ripple is the no.1 candidate. Just watch how it will move along 2019 and 2020.

I don't believe that will happen in the future considering the strength of bitcoin on the coin market and bitcoin being the mother coin will last long before being overtaken by altcoin. And again the cryptocurrency network is Design to perform only one dominant role and bitcoin sims to be the only coin performing that role accurately which is decentralization and the eradication of the third party involvement in carrying out transactions so this has made bitcoin to be the foundation of the cryptocurrency.

Just like we can’t predict the market, we can’t predict the future. Sure, bitcoin is king right now but as technology advances and other cryptos are developed, bitcoin can get left behind in value and market share. Highly innovative currencies with unique features will be able to take on Bitcoin in the future, for sure. It could be Bytecoin (BCN) (first implementation of CN protocol) or Virie and its distributed exchange network, simple interface and escrow system. So who knows?

absolutely no chance to beat Bitcoin by at least one day in capitalization

I think that this may happen in the future. but this will only happen when altcoins have a good working product. but it may be the case that bitcoin will not become a secondary.

I believe that altcoin can never replace bitcoin anymore, altcoin is a bitcoin dependant and we all know that if bitcoin fall all other coin in crypto will never exist, because bitcoin is the heart of crypto coin and it is considered as a most trusted coin so if bitcoin failed every coin will also failed.

For now,i still believe that bitcoin will still dominate the market and even few years from now.Altcoins are just good for short term trading and then they just lost their value after some time. With bitcoin,it is still considered the mother of cryptocurrency  and still holds the most expensive coin even if the crypro market continue to fall down.

I don't think that one has to replace the other, both can live in harmony, in the end, there are few alts that want to do what Bitcoin does, and to replace it will have to earn the public's trust first, of course, you have good competitors like dash or ripple, but they are still projects in development, that does not mean that bitcoin is going to be eternal, sooner or later someone will take his place.

There 's a possibility that an altcoin will replace bitcoin as the most recognize and has the largest market cap in cryptocurrency. This will happen if a certain altcoin were able to go mainstream adoption first. Taking note that significant coins are racing towards this. The first one, might have the advantage. So, I don't the possibility away. The technology matters here, it is not which is on top.

It will be possible it all depends by the majority of the mining pool like China by means of switching to mine altcoins with their massive hash power of mining hardware and if they stopped the network support of bitcoin and focus more on bitcoin hard fork like BCH then the dominance of BTC would decrease and it will be replace by other leading altcoins like XRP or ETH otherwise the hard fork of BTC like BCH will replace it.

Although, youre about if miners choose to mine altcoin, such altcoin selected could replace bitcoin in the future but I dont agree with you said it possible because it something we have experienced acouple of days after the creation of BCH and  bitcoin later prevail. So, if such case occur again bitcoin will still prevail because it the number 1 coin, the most popular and the most recognized crypto

There is a possibility, of course the altcoin must have more sophisticated technology so that it attracts many users, and certainly has
a selling value or a product that can be run, such as Ethereum with their platform, but even Ethereum is not able to defeat bitcoin

Thinking of Bitcoin replacement now? From the figures it presents as market cap, it appears like no other altcoin is so close to set a competition with Bitcoin. Aside this, Bitcoin is set to meet new developments which will enhance its Blockchain with speed and sufficient transaction capacity like what the Lighting Network intends to achieve.

I don't agree with you. Even ALTs are developing more and more nowadays. i still don't think it can replace bitcoin even now or in the future.

There's no possibility ALTS can replace bitcoin in the future, even now that bitcoin is going down there will be no other king and no one will ever be dominant as bitcoin. Just be optimistic, we will rise again!

Bitcoin will nit be replaced by any altcoin anytime soon due to its popularity and mostly the stability it proves during bearish periods comparing with altcoins that lose much mire if their value.

Cryto is very unusual, so no matter what people say, everything is possible on this market. Bitcoin can reach new ATHs or it can be replaced by another altcoin, as well. However, during this difficult times, I would bet on stable coins.

I doubt that this will happen.  IMO BTC has proven itself to be the King and leader of crypto world and that will not change anytime soon.  If any alts would seem to unseat btc, markets like the one we have now and have had for the whole year would be the ideal situation to make a move but as we can all see, when BTC sneezes, alts catch a cold.  Already several BTC forks and none has come even close to 50% of btc’s Value.

it looks like altcoin won't be able to replace bitcoin, altcoin will only work with bitcoin and maybe many will start using altcoin because the total supply of bitcoin and altcoin is very different and the altcoins that are created for now are so many that traders choose to trade on altcoin to grow the assets they have.

I still don't believe that Bitcoin will be replaced by Altcoin in the future.
I assume that Bitcoin is a perfect coin and has a good level of coins that are above other coins so that Bitcoin is the king of coins.
I think altcoin until now still can't beat Bitcoin because Bitcoin has the highest price value and Bitcoin is a coin so I am sure if Bitcoin will be the only coin that cannot be replaced by other Altcoin.

bitcoin opportunities for exceptional small enough. the dominance of bitcoin is quite high from coinmarketcap and over half of that is. bitcoin is like the center of ideas from many of the coins that appear and when it succeeds it will happen also in other major change to crypto.

I do think so, bitcoin dominance is decreasing everyday, as more and more new altcoins born. Many altcoins have better blockchain infrastructure than bitcoin blockchain, which meet our demand and developments require.
