Why are you using this random web wallet instead of any other software wallet (or even “trusted” web wallets like Xapo, BTC.com or Blockchain.info?)

Looks like a scam TBH. Never heard of it.

Of all wallet why use something that people in bitcoin community never heard of. If you are just going to put your BTC in an online wallet, why not just in a trusted exchange its bound to be not yours anyway. But at least the exchange link BNB or bittrex is there and are known to have been doing great for traders who kept their BTC in circulation. cryptomerchantbank.co? How the hell did you end up in there?

I just found one review and it doesn't sound good to be honest, cryptomerchantbank.co (https://www.scamadviser.com/check-website/cryptomerchantbank.co). As others have said, it looks like you used a un-trusted wallet to hold your BTC. Expensive lessons to learned and sorry to bring you the bad news.

Are you 100% sure that you are follow procedure for withdraw :

Quote
How can I withdraw bitcoins to a Bitcoin address?

To withdraw bitcoins from your wallet to a Bitcoin address you need to:

Log in to your account, go to the Transfer section and choose “To another user” transfer direction.
Enter the Bitcoin address you want to transfer funds to and the corresponding amount of funds you wish to transfer and click the “Next” button.
Check the transfer details, enter account password and click the “Confirm” button to confirm the transfer.

You can always view the transfer details in the history section of your account.

Also do you try to contact them and ask for help? I am not saying this site in not SCAM, but you should use all possible options before it becomes clear that you are deceived.

How people chose a random unknown web wallet to store +6500$ is a mystery to me. @OP you have problems recently? This one and 2 months ago https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5015133.msg45246298#msg45246298 Perhaps Coinbase would be a better option for you ::) since you can't handle your own wallet

Lots of red flags tbh, highly likely to be a scam

  • newly created site
  • doesn't have any user reviews
  • anonymous in whois and on their site-- no about us page
  • it isn't https and does have an unsecured connection which could result in leakage of your data

They do have an address posted but that's useless until verified. In any case, reported this to badbitcoin.

Please respond @op after you try what is on lucius post.

How the hell you do end up with this unknown or not popular bitcoin web-wallet? No matter which angle you would see there are lots of red flags (^ mentioned above)
Sending BTC into other wallet is just a basic stuff but the mistake you have done here is that you had used a wrong shaddy web wallet.Come to think that there are lots
way more better.Even though i dont suggest online web wallets but blockchain.info or com will be already considerable. Those bitcoins are definitely lost forever if you havent
received any response from the team or on their support.

That site was registered early April this year.

https://www.whois.com/whois/cryptomerchantbank.co

This is why you shouldn't use a random wallet on the web. Trust only that's very trustworthy and has been suggested by https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

Update us OP on what they are telling you for you to be able to claim your bitcoin there.

It would seem like it. You should have researched before you used their services for sure.

In fact, even without research you should have noticed the telltale sign of a scam in that it's definitely not a service that anyone knows about in this forum, and the design of their site just seems so cheap. Essentially, they're a random website that anyone can make with a bitcoin address which you are able to send money to. That's all they are.

In future, I recommend that you only use wallets which are open source and allows you to hold your own private keys at the very least, like electrum, or if you want a web version, at least go with something like greenaddress, blockchain.com if you're really desperate but I wouldn't recommend it. Don't just search up random bitcoin wallets and start using them, and don't use hosted wallets even if they are well known, like Coinbase.

I'm feel sorry for you OP, because it seems that you lost over 1 BTC. It's quite obvious that your mentioned website is a scam wallet. I have no idea how did you find this wallet and why did you selected it to use and hold such big number of BTC on unknown random website. You just gave your 1 BTC to scammers with easy hand. It's not even adviced to hold big amounts of money in reputable web wallets like Blockchain.com, I don't even talk about less known websites. It seems that people have to lose money to learn from their own mistakes and protect their money better.

@OP, let me guess, did someone also introduce the website to you? Or did you find this web wallet yourself.

If someone introduced it to you, they are probably an insider on the scam or potentially even the person behind the scam. This is why you don't trust what random people tell you on the internet, especially when it comes to the choice of wallet which essentially puts your money at risk.

But either way, there is no doubt about it now that this wallet is fraudulent. They have absolutely no real life company backing, they don't have any reviews, and anyone is able to probably get a site just like this up within a week of hiring a web developer.

No one is going to donate to you. Unfortunately, you can't get the money back, because you've chose to entrust some stranger online with your money. Since he has exclusive control over your bitcoins now, it's up to him whether or not he will honour his promises of holding your funds and paying you on demand, which he is not going to do due to the fact that the site ran by him was initially intentioned to scam people anyways. I would move on, potentially report the site to your country's online financial regulator or something like that (don't expect anything out of them), and move on.
