BitPesa has been in Africa for some four years now. I don't know but that seems to say they haven't penetrated the Kenyan market well. I think remittance providers should start with India maybe they will gain more traction there. ETHA Solutions is one venture which might do that.

good to hear that Japan and Africa can now use BTC for remittances and financial settlements, Africa has been a very friendly country to BTC from the begging!

Without a doubt, remittances are one of the best solutions provided by Bitcoin and the blockchain technology

As I read somewhere on Twitter, bitcoin matters because it allows you to do the transactions they say you can't do
