Title: Social media changes opinions
Post by: gb085 on November 12, 2018, 10:26:39 PM
Social media became the place where people get informed on a daily basis. Some read the news, some find out fancy celebrities news, etc.
But what about the comments people read?
Did it ever happened to you to scroll Facebook and see a title that you agree with and then start reading the comments/other's opinions and just start thinking that they are actually right and you have been wrong your whole life?
I think social media has it in hand today to just change people's opinions or political options. Do you think some sort of filter would be beneficial for us, users? Using AI to remove any post that could influence someone else's opinion? Can that do good or bad?

Social media is becoming the place where people get informed because in some countries they are free navigation.
Think of facebook they are free data on some countries for this type of social media, they read news, watch videos etc.
I rarely change mind reading opinion but mostly people comments let others rethink of their position on certain topic.
I think they have to filter also the information that are being post if the sources are real or not because some info could be misleading.
I don't think it's a good idea to remove post or comments that could influence someone else's opinion in this case there is no more freedom of speech.

I believe that social media is one of the greatest invention mankind ever had. It literally was able to change the world and the way of life. It was able to open people's minds into reality which can affect people's opinion. It was able to deliver worldwide social engagement and there are also people who made fortunes out of these platforms. Of course, there may be disadvantages because there will always be a disadvantages in every technology but Social Media has brought more advantages for the benefit of more people.

I strongly Agree. The social media has become more important than tv news, the social media can a great tool for meeting new friends or expand your company or just to stalk ex- girlfriends LOL

Social media becomes the number one tool for us user to know the latest update but if we think about it, does all of the information on our social media is reliable or not? Always remember that not all information on the internet is reliable and everything on the internet can be change.

I have applauded how social media affected how people behave, and in general, how they think. It's so amazing and sometimes scary because most of the time, people are on their phones. Probably, everyone has their reasons, and you would never know what could it be, but it has positively affected us. Even the older people who have known different social media sites, they have seen in different views. It's just what people are becoming due to social media.

The adverse effects that I could think of already are the spreading of news, whether it's good or bad. Now, there are a lot of people creating a fake story just to have some clicks on their site, creating reviews on their websites that are not true. It has become the competition of people to have the best spots so that people they would have money.

I think that's where it all boils down. Right now, we know that there are a lot of corporations holding different YouTube channels for profit and it's the people who have the most money could be the ones to sit on top. Social media has really changed.

So I will end this by saying, subscribe to PewDiePie.  ;D

I listen to people who know more about a specific topic than I do, but it does not have to come from social media. It could come from anywhere. Deleting posts should be for spam though in my opinion, not sincere comments.

I disagree with you. I think social medias can not change your point of view. And the proof is my example, because if you have a strong position, nobody can influence on it.
