Title: Michael Jackson - One man advocating EVERYTHING that will destroy bitcoin
Post by: FreedomFeens on March 08, 2014, 03:30:47 PM
A search on google for "Michael Jackson bitcoin" reveals that this man is advocating everything that will destroy bitcoin.  He advocates: coin taint, bitcoin central bank that issues bitcoin at will, the removal of anonymity, control turned over to the state, etc.  I heard about him from his article on coindesk today.  WHY is coinndesk publishing so mcuch crap that is antithetical to bitcoins principles lately?  This guy says on his site that: "Spare time for me is about debating with people who challenge me intellectually.", let's challenge him.

His most recent coindesk article:
http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-industry-must-recognise-responsibilities/

Other stupidity:

"Reversibility of transactions is also important"
"publisher could also track its usage in order to identify and address any copyright infringement."

"Bitcoin does not provide this capability to 'follow the money' - indeed this is one of the reasons it has been labelled as a currency for 'money-launderers and drug-dealers' and also why it has been targeted by cybercriminals. Silicon Valley libertarians may reject this, but the modern world won't accept anything else."
"Bitcoin isn't reversible. Currencies must be reversible so that banking errors can be resolved and money can be refunded. "

All of that can be prevented, easily.

My bad, wrong topic.

The removal of anonymity, though? I wonder if he, or NSA will find everybody's address, phone number, and name! Through, wowazoid, the Bitcoin offline wallets of course!

I get your drift, but it seems to me like coindesk used to be good for bitcoin news but now they are publishing trash.  What happened?

Told you so, all this GOX fiasco was just a reason that they "have" to control and "Centralize" Bitcoin Protocol
It's just a matter of time until the force bitcoin to implement a blackmailing feature so no criminal can steal coins anymore.

these types of people want "daddy state" to hold their hand and steal from everybody else to make it better.  Its time to grow up, especially when it comes to gox.  You are responsible for yourself in a free market.  There were countless examples of incompetence before the final collapse.  I feel sorry for people, but given the ability to cold store securely, keeping your bitcoins on any exchange especially magic the gathering online exchange for christs sake, you should have known better.  Im no expert and am playing with a small stack, but I was able to secure my coins offline.

Anyway, Michael Jackson = either complete idiot with regard to bitcoin and what gives it value or knows full well what hes doing and intends to benefit from it or destroy bitcoin.  There are only two possibilities.

Anonymity is one of the most important points why so many people use btc, and if he want to get rid of it he is really stupud. btw I reaaly don't like that people associate his name with my favourite singer
