Title: Another user asking/begging for a "Merit"
Post by: SFR10 on November 14, 2018, 01:53:11 PM
Yesterday, I received the following PM from "lisogorchik (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1846334)":

This thread serves as a reference to my feedback [will report as well] (shortly) + What's the exact duration of a temp ban for users sending unsolicited PMs (e.g. this case)?

Good question that I'd like to know the answer to as well--I didn't think PM merit-beggars were receiving any kind of ban.

I have a custom trust list and thus have to ask you this, SFR10:  are you on DT?  I see you got trust from some DT members but I don't know if you're on the DT list.  If so, your neg on this guy will be almost as good as a ban anyway.  If not, hopefully a DT member will see this and tag the guy.

Since it's an unsolicited PM, they might receive one (if someone decides to report them):

He stupidly sent one to me as well. I usually just ignore them but three other people reported the message too so he got a temp ban. This is his second ban as well. Not sure what the first was for but probably the same or unsolicited PMs (which this is also).

I'm just a DT3 member, so hopefully a DT1/2 member tags this user (I know some DT members, prefer not to [for this type of case]).

Seems claimed user already got tag by Vod. I don't know how peoples expect merit even they do not bother read forum rules. If they have read forum rules then they can't beg for merit.
are you on DT?  I see you got trust from some DT members but I don't know if you're on the DT list.

Although off topic but I just want to share opinion, since I have joined forum I have followed also SFR10 activity. He is a polite and useful user. Helping other and always make sound against corruption. So from my side I think he deserve DT position as well he got green trust from 6 different user. But I have one suggestion for SFR10, if you don't mind. There is too much positive feedback you left if we compare with your negative feedback. Although its your own opinion, it will reflect once you become DT members. I don't think some one from DT 1 will put you on DT 2 if there is lot of positive feedback. I will suggest change most of them by neutral feedback since there is is neutral option. Please don't take it personally. Overall I want to say it will increase your chance to become DT. I appreciate your job and I believe we need DT like you.

There is too much positive feedback you left if we compare with your negative feedback.
Therefore, you are sending lots of negative trust for being included in DT  ;D jk.
By the way, it makes no sense. SFR has faced some good deal/persons and that's why his/her most of the feedback are positive. Whenever, negative feedback was needed, s/he gave.
Is DT mean giving feedback only, I doubt. They are someone who are trusted by users. DT2 are trusted by DT1. If you are trustworthy to a DT1, s/he will add you on his trust list. Therefore, it's nothing related with sending feedback.

I believe this answers my main question (sort of, since it's a permanent one):

  • Autoban user: N/A in topic #0 by member #1846334 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1846334)

All bans listed on that page are permanent.

Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate it :)

- Honestly, a DT2 status is/was never (never will be) a target for me + "S_Therapist" has a point:
SFR has faced some good deal/persons and that's why his/her most of the feedback are positive. Whenever, negative feedback was needed, s/he gave.

- There's no need for adding me into DT2 + current DT1/2 members are doing a great job (e.g. leaving the appropriate comments)...
