Title: Where to store ERC20 Tokens
Post by: Playboi on November 14, 2018, 09:07:32 PM
Which wallets can hold ERC20 Tokens that aren't listed on exchanges?

Is it possible to send it to my ethereum wallet address on Binance or Poloniex ... or can they only be held on myetherwallet

Myetherwallet.

You can't send those tokens that aren't listed to an exchange.

However if you want to send ethereum to your ethereum address on binance, that's possible.

But if this is what you want to happen, ERC20 token (not listed) --> binance/poloniex then this isn't possible.

I personally keep my tokens on the stock exchanges because I actively trade and see no reason to transfer them to some wallet

All ERC20 tokens are compatible in Myetherwallet. Listed or not they can still be stored in this web wallet. Since they are not still listed on any exchange you can only store them on wallets that supports ERC20.

if its not listed on exchange you can't stored it, you only have to store it in myetherwallet or any erc20 wallet

Recommended wallet so far to hold ERC-20 Token is MyEtherWallet (MEW)
It's possible to sent token if token listed in those exchange, if not just hold in MyEtherWallet (MEW).

The hardware wallets are best wallets to store ERC20 tokens safely like Nano Ledger S. If can't buy a hardware wallet, my next option is Metamask. The Metamask is a chrome extension and it has a good security with anti-phishing. Another option is Myetherwallet. Most people using Myetherwallet to store ERC20 tokens. But you have to keep safe your private keys.

No, never send your ERC20 tokens to exchanges ethereum wallet addresses. You have to control your private keys to manage ERC20 tokens. The exchanges wallets private keys owned by the exchanges that's why.

Myetherwallet is not a safe wallet, You should go to the mycrypto and then download the desktop wallet and store all of your asset on there. I never get any problem with it and all of things are running smoothly till this time. you can even get the more features compared with MEW. It's a great wallet right now.

You can save it in Ethereum wallet, and I recommend you to use MetaMask instead of MyEtherWallet
Metamask is safer and is also recommended for ETH sending or receiving transactions and ERC20 tokens
MetaMask can also be downloaded as an extension on the Desktop version of Google Chrome

I suppose in this case, the desktop would be a better option though I would move them offline completely as soon as support exists (Ledger, etc). MEW is good but the UI takes a little while to get used to.

You can hold it on Myetherwallet and it is a good wallet because they can detect phishing sites when you enter in unsecured website.

Yes you can store erc20 tokens on ledger as well, then you can use it through MEW/Mycrypto. Hardware wallets are highly safe as you have to confirm physically.

If your tokens are not supported in exchange you can only store them in MEW, if you send them to ETH addresses in binance or other exchange you will surely lose them permanently.

you can store your ERC20 tokens to myetherwallet and if you mean you can send your tokens from that exchanges possible you will lose your tokens just make sure that exchanges supported that token that you have.

To store ERC20 tokens that are not listed on exchanges, you can use MyEtherWallet aka MEW. It is the best wallet now to store your ERC20 tokens. In MEW history, it never gets hacked, in the past, there is a MEW dns hijack but if you look carefully at the address, you can realize it leads you to wrong website. So, just use MEW and always take care when using it, you'll be safe.

MEW is one of the popular wallets around to store ETH and ERC20 tokens. It is a free wallet, you just have to create one at the official website. However , you have to be careful and check MEW website everytime you use it. There are lots of phishing websites targeting MEW.

Today, there are so many decentralized projects that automatically add tokens, the main thing is that you know the address of the contract correctly and that’s all you need to know in order to invest or sell.

Well the best wallet to store your ERC20 tokens is at myetherwallet. And if your tokens are not listed on an exchange, you can't send them on Binance or Poloniex that you're referring to.

I first thought that ERC-20 is the same as the ethereum wallet. I later figured out that ERC 20 is capable of storing token not just ethereum coins. One of it is myetherwallet which is really reliable since there is a lot of logging in option in it.

I use my ledger hardware wallet to store my ERC20 tokens and access the tokens using myetherwallet. Other than ERC20 tokens, the hardware wallet support the main coins like BTC, ETH and Neo. It is a good investment to safeguard your crypto coins.

and you can WD to the exchange that has the coin listing....

Virtually any contract can be placed on MEW, because this wallet is directly integrated with ETH. I can’t say about the transfer to stock wallets. Most likely, not every altcoin can be sent there, but only those coins that are traded on this exchange.

All ERC20 coins are compatible and can be stored in myetherwallet. As long as the coins that you hold are not listed on any exchange, you can not make any kind of transaction, because any transaction is done through an exchange. Myetherwallet is the safest online wallet of cryptomonades. It's a good wallet because I can detect phishing sites when you enter the unsecured website.

All the ERC-20 tokens can be held on your MEW wallet and I strongly recommend to open up several wallets to minimise the risks of getting scammed. Also try to hold coins on different exchanges, this will also help to diversify your earnings.

You have to hold your coins in your ethereum wallet. If you will send some coins to binance which they didnt list it yet you can loose these tokens. If you want to send your token to exchange you need to be sure about they already added that or not. Myetherwallet is the safest and easiest option for me. I am opening my harrdware wallet via mew and i am storing my tokens in my hardware wallet.

Do not send the ERC20 tokens to the exchange. Otherwise, you will lose your tokens and must be kept in your wallet. For example:MyEtherWallet, IMTOKEN and so on. Make sure that your private key is not leaked.

All ERC-20 tokens based on Ethereum so it is highly recommended to store them on MyEtherWallet. if your token has been listed in an exchange, you can send your token to exchange, if it hasn't been listed automatically it will be stored in your wallet (MyEtherWallet).

You can not store those tokens which are not listed on the exchange.
If you are just a beginner you can try to learn myetherwallet, electrum, eidoo, metamask wallets. However, I would advise purchasing trezor or ledger, they are not that expensive nowadays.

You cannot send ERC20 Tokens that are not registered in Binance or Poloniex to their wallets, because Binance or Poloniex is an exchange and it is different from a wallet, so you will not be able to store any ERC20 Tokens if they have not been listed in an exchange because your ERC20 Tokens is definitely will be lost, therefore ERC20 Tokens can only be stored in a wallet that supports ERC20 only, such as MyEtherWallet or MetaMask.

Never ever store your tokens on an exchange if the token market is not in a great condition unless you are ready for a trade cause you might not get it back.

If you have a lot of money, do not save, and buy yourself a hardware wallet. If the amount is not very large, then you can store it on a MyEtherwallet The main thing is not to keep on exchanges.

Don't ever try to send erc20 tokens to exchange wallets that don't support it.
You will either just get a failed transaction (lucky case) or your tokens will be lost in crypto limbo (most likely case).

Myetherwallet is a great place to store your tokens, mostly because it is free lol.
There are actually a lot of options to use myetherwallet, after all, it is really just a user interface that lets use access the ethereum network.
The most basic secure way is to use metamask, that is afree option.

The best option, however, is to get a hardware wallet.
Your key will never be on mew and can't get phished, but you can still interact with mew.
They are a bit expensive, around $100, for a ledger nano or trezor, but I would say it is worth it.
AFter all, you are protecting your money.

I think Ledger Nano S is the best product and we should use this wallet to ensure the safest asset. Most people in the world trust Ledger because no hacker can ever get into this system, making Ledger the best support device at the moment.

Just simply store it in MEW is the best choice that you can do to keep your token. Since you won't be able to sent your un-listed token into an exchange market yet. cause if you force to sent them, there would be risk that you will loose your token.
