Title: blockchain growth in Malaysia
Post by: airdagon on November 14, 2018, 10:06:34 PM
I am happy with the growth of blockchain technology in several countries such as South Korea, Venezuela, Japan, China, they began to believe in this new technology, and a few days ago Malaysia has a plan for using blockchain technology to prevent fake diplomas.

The Malaysian Ministry of Education says that fake diplomas can be easily obtained in the online world.

they have plans to explore the world of technology in the world of academia. and academic certification will use the NEM blockchain.

What is the role of blockchain in your country to prevent any fake documents?

Wow, I did not know that about Malaysia, it is difficult to graduate from a university? or they are very expensive? There are not public universities or something? It will be interesting to see how they implement the NEM blockchain technology for that and I think that they will be pioneers by doing so. If that works it would be a huge contribution to the blockchain companies plus a good example to follow for other countries

i always find it pretty strange when they try using the blockchain technology in some field that is not even related to the technology itself and usage of it can even make it less secure or less efficient.
in this case usage of a smaller blockchain technology such as NEM is even more strange since smaller projects are riskier to use because of possible bugs, unclear future and attack surfaces they have which can not be known right now.

NEM is a reputable provider of blockchain technology, and I believe that is a better choice for such application since the fees incurred is relatively low compared to other blockchains. They also continue to improve their network and the team behind them is still working on it.

I think Blockchain is now widespread all over the world. Some countries like Malaysia are doing extra jobs, but almost every country is getting ready to adapt to this technology.

It's a good thing that cryptocurrency is growing in Malaysia. That's another country to go to. No matter how many country bans Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency in their places, it would still find a way to make cryptocurrency relevant to them because cryptocurrency is growing.

The Malaysian Government has adopted the blockchain technology as it has good potential to improve the socio economic conditions of the country as well as it  brings clarity and transparency in all trading transactions as the blockchain is a decentralized network and so no one will be able to manipulate the network which helps in generating good profits to the country.

Wow thats a nice move from malaysian government to use blockchain for educational purposes in which will bring good fortune for the student and the education sector as well

My government has no exact stand towards blockchain and cryptocurrency, but they are neutral regrding all matters, meaning people can freely use or do whatever and whenever they want to explore crypto and blockchain

it is good news coming from one of the developing countries. combining blockchain technology and academic needs in this context is a university. We need to support collaboration like this and continue to develop positively so that later more new innovations will be related to the implenetation of blockchain technology that can benefit the lives of people globally.

The Malaysian government has been trying to catch up with advanced countries. They used to be one of the most promising countries in Asia. Unfortunately, a huge financial crisis has caused their economy to fall into a long period of downturn. Now the emergence of Bitcoin is a New opportunities, if they can embrace bitcoin and blockchain, then the economic revival will be achieved again.

Firstly welcome the Malaysian Education Board to trust the blockchain. They decided that it's a good decision. Using Malaysia's technology, many complex tasks will be solved. And many countries of the world will be inspired to see Malaysia. I want to spread this technology to all the institutions in my country.

Blockchain is the reason that cryptocurrency will keep being around and in fact, will grow more. I do believe that with time, more countries even technologically underdeveloped countries will adopt it in their election, economy/finance and other areas.

Its nice to know that Malaysia has accepted NEM blockchain in education sector inorder to prevent any fake degree/diploma, that is indeed a great step taken by Malaysian govt. No doubt blockchain is one of the latest emerging technology it is being accepted by my tech savvy countries like Japan and South Korea but its is not yet accepted by big asian counteries like India and China, I hope blockchain will be more popular in 2019.

Wow, that's an interesting blockchain application! If fake diplomas are really common in this country, it surely makes sense to adopt a technology that will allow 100% guarantee that this will never happen again. Malaysia is 62nd out of 175 countries in the list based on the corruption rate. While faking a diploma is going to be hard, what prevents a person from bribing the officials to get the grades for all of the courses that were never really taken and then get a 'real' diploma, backed up by blockchain technology? My country's level of corruption is about twice as high, and I am pretty sure that's what people would do here if blockchain was adopted in the same way... Using blockchain for tickets, votes and IDs, however, could be really helpful here.

Malaysia needs bitcoin more than it needs blockchain.

https://www.straitstimes.com/business/malaysian-ringgit-continues-slide-against-singdollar

The currency continues to lose value, they can store wealth in digital gold that bitcoin offers.

Blockchain = Banks/Governments

Bitcoin = Decentralized store of wealth

The Ringgit won't be "fixed" by the bank that constantly manipulates it, so hopefully more Indonesians can hold bitcoin more now.

Developing countries can really benefited from Blockchain Technology. Obviously, they are still on the development phase and using Blockchain at this early stage will move them toward a 1st world very quick with the help of this technology.

But I was quite surprised though with using NEM, why not Ethereum though? Who advises them to used NEM?

That's how useful blockchain is and I'm happy to see that they are using crypto which is NEM.
Adoption will continue, Malaysia does not belong to big countries but they are following what big countries are doing, this is what decentralization can do and I'm very optimistic that more and more countries will adopt with crypto and some countries who currently ban it, might change their minds and lift the ban.

The Malaysian state's steps are indeed good and this can be an example of other countries that have not received crypto properly.
But it must also be prevented so that no fake diplomas are circulated, this is very vulnerable to fraud.

I just say wow with that real world adoption that Malaysia did by applying blockchain to detect fake diplomas.

Nem's blockchain is becoming popular and I'm following them on their social media account. They really are pushing real world adoption and I can see that they really work hard for corporations to be open and understand blockchain.

Lots of good news involving Malaysia, they are really moving with the blockchain and their government is supporting it.
Every country can adopt blockchain and crypto if their government will support them, because their government can indorse to their people, so we should end this regulation problem and get the government educated with the real purpose of crypto.

This is one example of a good purpose.
To verify academic certification and other importen  document seems like an excellent use case for the blockchain, no one can go back and change old dokument once they are added to the blockchain.

It's good news to know that one country in Asia will use blockchain and they decide to use NEM blockchain, and I am sure this will trigger NEM to increase higher. But I don't know how to solve the problem about fake documents because so far, I still read on the newspaper, many people trying to make fake documents for the legality or to completeness requirement to search a job. Maybe they need to create a system that can prevent fake document being used for illegal things. And the most important, people need to know that they don't have to try to make a fake document.

What I found curious here is that as I see mostly, least developed countries try to integrate blockchain technologies while other developed countries don't care much on it but still big companies try to catch bc technologies and integrate it (for example walmart, mastercard and etc, they haven't done anythinf but plan and make some patents aroudn bc).
Oh, also Georgia is a big example of how least developed countries try to see potential of blockchain technologies.

Because they are still hungry for improvements and yet they're still searching ways for quick developments.
May this things will help them out from being stubborn and be more recognize thru BC.

Developed countries won't after this since they already established it's name in the market and they never wanting to take higher risk compared of what they do right now.
