Are we seeing the beginning of the end of bitcoin and the cryptocurrencies?... The people are losing a lot of money they are panicking and scared. What this could be all about?

Well most of us have been hearing that phrase for more than months, and years already. I don't doubt it, because i know that bitcoin is here and will always be in here, for more than years.

Anyway, this is more than descouraging for newbies, specially for all those that don't have a huge capital.

I am expecting some analyst to come up with a possible explanation for this. No smoke without fire, some persons are privy to what some of us don't know. It happened way too fast. Right now, I'm still scrambling to get a good grip on the market and trying to get all my buy orders conplete. This is an opportunity to average down my buys ($6100 atm) and to get a better position in the long-term market. Also, a flash crash don't usually mean the end for a crypto. This has happened way often in the past and we're still here apparently.

For me, I am not worrying. Because I know it will pump soon. Low price is normal, I still believe in bitcoin. This is the best time to buy more and hold it until it will pump.

I'm surprised that bitcoin lost more than 10% of its value in just a day. I know that crypto market has high volatility but it's kinda rare for bitcoin to lose that much value in a day. Looks like the bull run won't be happened in this year. I hope crypto user will stay calm, don't buy the FUD and keep HODL.

Yes, you can called it the Black Wednesday or maybe the Bloody Wednesday because Bitcoin down very hard and Top 100 coins follow the Bitcoin to fall hard like that. But, I am sure that Bitcoin will rise up again and the others will follow. Fingers crossed.

this has always been like this. altcoins may no follow bitcoin up but they damn sure follow it when it drops. and now that bitcoin had dropped a little, it has initiated a mass altcoin dump which led to each altcoin losing a large percentage of its price and as it grows the bag holders panic more and dump more.

I feel what you think and what I know is that bitcoin must have the intention to reach the lowest demand base and then go to the highest point of the bid price because to jump higher requires a different distance

You can thank Roger Ver and Craig Wright for this drop in the price. The confusion started when speculators saw media statements about a war between Bitcoin Cash groups over the fork. They somehow made a link between Bitcoin <BTC> and Bitcoin Cash <wonder why?> and they thought the price of Bitcoin <BTC> will drop because of this fork.  >:(

Speculators have no clue about the technicalities and differences between Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, so any instability will cause them to panic and when they panic, they sell.  >:(

I was surprised when I saw a message on the telegram, BTC below 6k USD, so search for the possible issue why bitcoin goes down that hard last night and I see no other reason than the Bitcoin Cash fork.  I was like wth, Bitcoin is not forking and there is no major FUD spreading around the market.  Then I saw the post about BCH confusion affecting Bitcoin price.  Oh well, what ever it is probably it is a good time to buy Bitcoin.  I think that this is somehow a bear trap though.

Bitcoin is indeed down and this is an investor's mental burden so seeing the red market will react to all crypto.

indeed it is truly a bloodbath, but this is not the end for cryptocurrency, do not panic rather see this as an opportunity to increase your portfolio with more coins because prices will definitely rise again that is certain.

How many of you get the victimized by the word HODL? At first major fluctuation I was able to sell my crypto and then buy out when the crypto was cheap. Relatively I earned more crypto that time because I bought it cheap. However, this figure may still drop for more or even worse it will be gone and bitcoin will going to end. So for now the best thing to do is Sell and observe Market price movement.

Merely looking at the topic "Black Wednesday", i flash back to old days were the whole market turns red over a couple of days before the market itself jet back with a significant bull run. The crypto-community can do more injuries to themselves if not HODL till the current situation in the market normalize, let's us all HODL things will get better.

Black Wednesday indeed. I'm not one to fall for prophecies, doom or otherwise, and there's no light at the end of the tunnel, or ray of sun beyond, nor a steep spiral to death. At least, not for the foreseeable future of years.

But I'll add something positive - if this is the extent of a single day decline, if this is the blackest and it's the low of the year (in the same year we saw ATH), then we really should be breathing a sigh of relief.

Still plenty of time left for Bitcoin to surprise us though.

Indeed! We won't be greatly affected if we are on this for a long run, imagine those people who bought Bitcoin when it was less than a hundred USD and waited until last year.  This mere drop does not mean an end for bitcoin but rather another opportunity to buy at a great discount.  HODL and wait for the price to recover.  This reminds me last year when bitcoin price plummet trapping those bears and released a barrage of bulls running to break its ATH several times.

That does not mean bitcoin is dying, we keep hearing this all the time and you know what? Whenever I hear Bitcoin is dead, it means the price is ready to increase.

Maybe the big dip for people to scoop up before a meteoric rise? Who knows, I do expect something good to happen this year to make up for the rest of the year.

It really hurts and very sad to hear drop of bitcoin prices especially when we all expect something positive increase in the price. But let us not give up and we know bitcoin will come back as the mother of all coin.

these coins are called "stable coins" for a reason! they are supposed to ALWAYS have the same price no matter what is happening in the market. the most famous example is Tether or USDT and as we all know they are not really that stable, they also fall from time to time and worst of all is that they are centralized and risky to use.

as for the price drops, this is only because of manipulation and the BitcoinCash crap that is going on these days. and as soon as it is over we will be back to normal with bitcoin price.

I also watched it and monitored it too, but it doesn't lead me to be afraid for what happening in the market. But I now lot of the community really got scared were bitcoin down to below 6000$, but this things is a sign for me that bull run is nearly close to be happen. So we still hold our coins more.

6 months ago, we are not surprised how bitcoin price comes to more than 20k, we should not react too much in declines. Directing people to fear will make this market more dangerous. There's no other choice but to wait.

I think that it's totally normal. Have you ever seen the btc cycles? Do you understand at which point we are in now? Examine these to get a clear answer if everything goes as it planned.

I looked at the Coinmarket Cap today and almost all of the top 100 Crypto Currency has fallen! All I can see is that fight after the collapse is TrueUSD, USDcoin and Nasda coin. It's definitely hard to recover from this downturn but we just wait for it because I'm sure that the price of bitcoin and other altcoin will rise again and we can recover from our losses.

The market will recover, but we are now to way far from the next bull market. Patience is king.

Yes, high awareness and staying calm will make you easily able to avoid losses, because if we realize this is only a correction and indeed often happens in any market I think, chances are we will not panic and keep holding it, but if there is someone who has high enthusiasm with crypto, so I'm sure this will make him buy more bitcoin and maybe other crypto. Real black Wednesday indeed. Bitcoin was worst hit and has broken the support at $6k which it has been bouncing off for the past 6months. Now trading at $5640. This was as a result of massive withdrawal to invest in the hard fork off BCH which are BCHABC and BCHSV. This move has really shaken the market and who knows what next will happen to the crypto market.

We are all watching and the prices still going down. The most dangerous things is here the Market Cap in my opinion.. It is going down from 200 and now $180,935,126,970.. If it still goes down the big caos is on the way.. I really don't know how to act right now because my assets is going down like more than %25 percents in two days..

The price fall due to the upcoming BCH fork.
People are looking for a positive profit from the fork that is why they lay-off their BTC for BCH.
But after the fork we will see a good bounce from BTC price and other alt coins in terms of USD PRICE!

Well i think its another corrections that happening cause we see volume are dropping and bitcoin price are stable, i think some people are just losing hope and cause panic sell.

I know that people are loosing as the price of bitcoin and other cryptocurrency is falling but this is not enough reason to say that this is the beginning of the end of bitcoin and other cryptocurrency. Before anyone invest in cryptocurrency education the fellow, fluctuation in price is the nature of cryptocurrency.

This has put me in a position to look into the coins you have mentioned, is it possible that these could be the next digital currencies to succeed the first gen cryptos seeing that the coins are not hit as hard as the rest?

Seeing the top 100 coins right now is very scary, I should check this again after a week to see if there will be price improvements and hope this is temporary as others have suggested.

Black Wednesday is not meant for bitcoins to go down.Bitcoin has been going down since the beginning of this year and I don't think is because of Bitcoin wednesday. Next year bitcoin wednesday was great time to have bitcoin in a portfolio.

It was a bad day, it is impossible to deny such a thing but you are exaggerating, this is not the end for cryptocurrencies and especially not for bitcoin, if people really took the time to research the market they will understand that movements like the one we saw a few days ago are not weird in this market and can happen quite frequently, it is just that people forget about these movements after the market recovers.

That's true black Wednesday + black Friday = LOW PRICES. My first thoughts were anger, doubts, and panic. But we have to start to learn from good players because They know that now is a good time to buy Bitcoins, so re-thinking about it  more perhaps this is  a win-win situation

I'm confidence that this isn't the end yet. What would you expect to other coin after btc is in dip? Of course they will surely follow. Look, when btc is rising, most of them are also in green. If you were one of those thinking this is the end, you are free to leave and we are free to stay. As simple as that.

For sure once the falling of the market happen again it will up again the happen the value most of the coins and the top 100 cryptocurrency coin and not in the list of top 100 will be increasing again and everyone here in cryptoworld will be happy.
