How is this happening going to impact the further development and popularity of Ethereum and Ripple respectively?

Not again  >:( Why there are people left on this market that are investing in Ripple and why does the centralised coin takes the second place on the CRYPTO currencies market. ETH is much better and hope it will take his place back soon.

Don't worry, Ethereum would have a comeback against Ripple someday again. It is just that Ethereum is just affect the such many ICO's that had been a scam for many people.

I think Ethereum will strive more with their development with faster pace to catch up to their competitor. With XRPs continuous development it attracted many large investors making it higher in market cap in contrast with Ethereum.

This is well understood, because now it is in bear market. As long as the market is corrected, ETH will soon surpass Ripple.

It won't last. It doesn't last. Their market cap are so close that you can almost predict that Ethereum will go back into the 2nd position. Ripple should enjoy the ride while it lasts. Eth is coming...

It just happened due to the fact the most crypto right now is in a great downtrend and we do not know when the market will have a reversal. Also even though that the market prices is falling there are some altcoins that are having a 5258.85% for PyrexCoin and 344.43% for Nasdacoin uptrend consecutively right now which can be seen in the link below in coinmarket cap in the last 24 hours which led me to speculate that the downtrend in prices might be due to that fact that big time investors might be looking into other crypto to put money into.

These speculators are putting their money to pump shitcoin to take the profit. They realized that they can't even play on the bearish market with a lot of uncertainty about what will be happening in the future.
Majority of coins that have been getting a big pump just shit coin. Coin that has been getting more than 5k% increase just another shitcoin.

XRP has surpassed ETH 3 times in the last two months, and now it is happening again with the red market. But I still believe that when the market recovers, ETH will regain its second place

That don't mean it is strong than eth , xrp is also a great coin but we can't compare the two as they both have different ideas and what function they perform.

Ripple is more than stronger than ethereum Because the price of ethereum goes down but the price of ripple still stable and much profitable than other altcoins.

Someday they all understand, I hope it's not too late for them.

As for me, it does not matter what place ETH is in the rating, whether it is the second or third. What is important is what his abilities and capabilities.

Similarly ripple will not dominate as the king of altcoins as it is a centralised coin, at a same time I am saying ripple is bad. Eth is very popular in the crypto market across the world once the price start pumping it will regain its place again.

Ethereum is still the second top coin after bitcoin, people still make ethereum as their payment transaction tool, there are still many ICO using this ethereum platorm, so don't worry, ethereum will return to its normal price even higher, we just need patience

I think they are doing only because they want to spread fear to ethereum holders and eth holders may sell their ethereums with these low prices. I think that is the main reason of that war. Ripple is centralised coin and i dont like ripple. I believe eth will come back to his second place soon. That is only manipulation for fear.

That list on CMC is like football league table. It keeps changing. If ETH wins the next big match, it will come back to second place.

I know ETH will be there soon. Even then, the Executive Board will take its third place. XRP is really a great altcoin because it knows the opportunities and good financial management. Do not let other investors hold too many of their tokens. At present, the company still holds more than 24% of the total shares of the company. ETH has nothing in hand, so it is always easy to collapse at any time.

I believe maximum after 1 week everything will come back. And ETH will be back on #2.
Or, might be BCH will take place Nr.3.. who knows ? ! :)

this is caused by ICO getting worse, while 90% of ICO projects use smart contracts Ethereum.
So naturally if there is a capital decline, this is an opportunity for Ripple to change things. Besides that, Ripple is an old coin that has good quality on almost all lines.

it's only temporary if the market is recovering I'm sure ethereum will return to its original place. all of this is only the impact of a falling market.

I think miners are not interested in ETH like they used to be , Ethereum price has felt downso harsh and it makes it hard for every one to mine it when most of the time it doesn't even cover the electricity bill!

It's just Ethereum, Maybe because of the influence of the many ICOs that are not successful and some kind of fraud at this time, to have an impact on Ethereum. but I believe Ethereum will slowly rise again.

Undoubtedly ETH is far much better than XRP. This is because of all the positive News on XRP. All Alts are in Red, except XRP.

Might be manipulation, I do not know, bur something is not right in the Market.

it looks like this time will run long enough, because I see ethereum has lost a large enough volume of their circulating supply, ethereum must think about this and immediately make positive changes

both are very popular, but I think XRP have very little chance to surpass ETH cause of applications of ETH is truly wide and more convinient than XRP millions times
just this hard time, XRP daily vol can surpass ETH. but not for long though.

As far as I know ethereum is already preparing a large-scale update of its virtual machine.I do not think that Ripple long hold on to the second position.And in principle,there whether is any difference. All the same, ethereum is used everywhere and much more often.I have both ethereum and ripple in my wallet.So I'm not too offended if one of them will be in second or third place.

Both of those are having green and I think ETH will surpass XRP again and will be on 2nd place. ETH is of course far better than XRP and soon it will have a good bubble and take the place. XRP is currently having a good increased though. If you consider the real usage of those coin, ETH has more usages than XRP.

No. I don't believe that. Though ethereum is facing challenges in terms of its price, there's no way ripple can overtake or surpass ethereum. Both coins are promising coins but ethereum will still remain the widely supported coin after bitcoin.

I am sure that this will only temporarily all return to normal when the market is stable, I know that this is an unsatisfactory answer but the fact is that everything like this is because the market is falling, I think that's the cause and everything will return to normal when the cause can be overcome

Yes, and it doesn't mean anything. Sometimes Ripple has bigger cap then Ethereum. I think that in the future eth will be in the top of all altcoins. Maybe Ripple will be the second one.

It happens all the time. Though i like both ethereum and XRP. I still beleive XRP has much much more potential for growth and development. I am sure their world banking project is not the only one and very soon we will hear something new incoming from Ripple.

As you know altcoins fall in price if Bitcoin falls in price. This reaction of Ethereum is logical, and the fact that Ripple did not fall in price only means that its price is maintained artificially.

Don't worry, it won't be long, just temporary. If Bitcoin rises, Eth will definitely rise as well and return to being the second coin after Bitcoin. Ripple is good but Eth is better. therefore Ripple will not be able to replace Eth's position as Eth cannot replace the position of Btcoin.

This is not the first time in this year :D. As I can remember maybe this is the third or maybe fourth in this year only. Everytime XRP takes the 2nd place of ETH, something big will happen, sometime it's a big pump but this time it's not the same :D. Last year after XRP took 2nd place of ETH, everything went to the moon right after that but I don't know if this time after XRP comes back to its rank there will be a big pump or not :).

Nah ripple is just having something of a temporary run right now, there is no way that the coin will be able to maintain that position with so many coins fighting the coin for that second spot. It might stay there for a little bit but I am sure that ethereum is just going to end up taking back that position without too much effort, ripple is not that good of a coin
