Ripple market volume has bypass Ethereum as Bitcoin and ether price since down further. Bitcoin is still the king and Ripple now the Queen. Ripple seems more lucrative than Ethereum.

Ripple has passed ETH a few times before but has been replaced again a short while afterwards. I have a feeling this time could be different. ETH is losing its support and XRP is probably always going to benefit from being heavily centralized, it will be a dream for all the big institutions and governments because it's easily controlled unlike bitcoin.

Too bad a centralized currency take over the second place on the top 100 decentralized crypto currencies. But I know it is not the first time and usually doesn't stay longer than few hours. But we need several days or weeks before claiming XRP take over ETH.

Ripple has never been and will never be the cryptocurrency queen. This coin has repeatedly surpassed a bit ethereum in terms of the ethereum capitalization level and each time the ethereum again returned its rightful second place to itself after a short time. It will definitely be this time.

I'm sure this is only temporary. because it has repeated several times, the ripple can only occupy the second position for a while. when the market has recovered ethereum will return to its position.

It's just a matter of time, I guess a few days or weeks I believe ethereum will take back its position. It has happened before so I'm not scared. Ethereum is still the Queen and bitcoin is king.

yes this is indeed the case, and I am confused that I have to be sad or happy, because I see the condition of the marketcap like this, even the marketcap lives at $ 181 million. the latest good news from Ripple is that they are working with the bank, and have begun to interact

i was waiting for the xrp to dump to 25 cents and i think that this is not going to happen ever again. i believe that whals will react and ethereum will take its place back

today throughout the day I see the ripple in second place and quite far away from ethereum, do you start switching from the ethereum platform? because I saw this year there were no events that stood out from them

It happened many times already and it's just a hundred thousand to 1 million dollar difference, XRP must retain a big gap from ethereum if it really wants to become the 2nd placer for marketcap.

I am sure that the situation with the XRP project is quite manipulated, because today the market still has to show itself as something very, very fictional, because now the whole market is more serious problems, but here, as always, two different situations

In previous days  in several times XRP overtake the rank of ETH. This place replacement was changed by several minutes. But in this time XRP have overtake ETH very strongly, It has kept 2nd place  for considerable time  frame. This situation  could change with time in few days.

actually what happens with ethereum so that it can be defeated by XRP. whereas most people when investing in an ICO use ETH or BTC. will this be the end of ETH.

it looks like this will be a tough year for ethereum and I hope they are doing well and recovering soon giving a more tangible contribution to cryptocurrency

I have to say that XRP is doing so well recent days.
even with shitty market, it still keep the price (compare to USD) soo stable (compare to other altcoins)

In fact, I believe that competition between coins is good, since each project wants to be better than the other, so they need to develop and improve their technology. But I believe that Ethereum will not give up the second place XRP.

I agree with you, ripple is centralized coin which has massive support from financial institutes but at the same time it's not something that crypto users love, decentralization and privacy is important, ripple has lack of them. Also this position change doesn't mean much, ethereum will come back soon, if it will continue for 1 month, then we can say that ether lost it's game.

This is not the first time that XRP is overtaken Ethereum on the Coinmarketcap. The same thing happened in September this year and it also happened last year. I don't see it retaining the position as it was unable to do previous times. Am sure many will agree with me that the influence of Ethereum in the market is more than that of XRP and even many are still skeptical of Ripple because it is not fully decentralized.

Yeah i saw the marketcap agian and XRP now at the 2nd spot.
This will not take long and ETHEREUM will take the slot again.
Just wait for a day or two and we will see a new rankings.

Price manipulation is a biggest concern, the entire market is dropping off and struggling. XRP is proving that it is growing slowly and steadily, this is not the first time but it has a great future in upcoming days.

Do not panic. Ripple will not take 2nd place for a long time. ahead have ethereum is an update that everyone is looking forward to. As soon as it comes into force, Ripple will have to look at ethereum in the back, or bottom up.

I think that in terms of investment, it is now most profitable to invest your money in ethereum because you can buy it at a very attractive price.

And it is recovered again, as we all know ripple is a good coin if you only notice the monetary side of things, and as in any market there are many people who just want to maximize their profit to infinity, without care for philosophies or technology, so despite being a supposed centralized crypto is having so much success.

Maybe they have something different to offer in the community as compared to eth platform? Any reasons why? I'm not really familiar with ripple platform, I just know that they exist but not really dealing them first-hand.

With the current situation where every cryptocurrency is falling, Ripple overtaking Ethereum I think took a big blow on Ethereum. This would mean more trust on Ripple by investors.

Ripple platform has been on trials for some banking institutions that may have attract investors of the future of Ripple. Investors are really looking for significant features and updates that could bring sustainable growth in the investment. This overtaking is not that surprising especially now where the market is so down.

I still can not believe that ripple is in 2nd place.
But fortunately that can change again quickly.
Somehow i do not think the ripple can hold the place long.

ripple does look more potent than etherum. even many companies that support ripples can be pumped even higher.

that happens sometimes, but doesnt mean something serious, because one day Ripple takes over, next day Ethereum will recover positions.
Ripple is good for arbitrage and in bearish market the best opportunity

XRP has no function whatsoever. BTC or ETH are actual blockchains that can execute code (ETH more complicated code than BTC) but XRP is just electronic token issued by an company

It is like VISA. And because the company issued 100 000 000 000 of these tokens, the market cap is really high.

Everybody complains about Tether. Ripple is much worse because XRP is not backed by USD and a much higher supply!!!  ;D

i think this only shows that ripple coin has also capability of being a good coin for investment. and also as day goes by the ripple coin has making its way to being popular to the crypto enthusiast and this will make the investors to buy ripple for future investments. great development so far for ripple coin. and i hope there are more altcoins can rise its name and be recognize.

It's a good project, but I doubt it'll stay there. I think Ethereum has more of an ecosytem built around it, so I think it's more deserving of the #2 spot.

We've seen this before and as far as I know eth will remain next to btc as it's queen and xrp will remain inferior to them. Xrp won't hold much and eth will definitely take it's place back. Eth has more potential than xrp.

yes you are right, because like what happened when Ripple took Ethereum position, it didn't last long and only a few hours Ethereum was able to get rid of Ripple again, but I see now it looks like Ripple has taken Ethereum position with the longest time ever before happen or now is the time for Ripple replacing Ethereum forever without any resistance from Ethereum.

What would make it lucrative? Just because it is #2 on coinmarketcap now?
Eth had, and still has way more mainstream support, a more robust ecosystem, and real world use cases than xrp.

The only reason why xrp made 2nd is because eth free falled along with btc.
And btc free falled along with the stock markets accross the world.
The reason why these coincide is because we now have a lot of stock market investors with btc and eth in their portfolios, not xrp.
On top of that, xrp isn't fungible and doesn't have that many trading pairs.

Oh, did I also mention that ripple is an evil corporate company?

Indeed ripple overcoming ethereum several times but it's just a while, after that Ethereum taking the place again without waiting for a long time.
So there will still a long way for ripple to fully overtaken ethereum.

I think Ripple is the big competitor of ETH. And I hope Ripple can overtaken ETH fully

they both are great competittor IMO, Yes ETH not very well performed at this moment & to be honest ripple not so well performed too IMO. But in the next future maybe ripple could lead over ethereum just because it is has been backed up by some great companies & even Big bank.

current ripple back to take on the role and the ethereum. the decline happened to make ethereum became weak in this time. not only is this time just ripple shift the ethereum and this certainly indicates that although the ripple has a centralized system but these coins have the potential. It would be very curious to wait and follow the development of ripple in the future later.

I am still more confident with Etherum, because the platform of Etherum has more applications. So I think that's just a market mechanism that can change at any time. It could be that Etherum will cut it shortly

It's not surprised when XRP has taken over Ethereum position, I have seen it several times before, but it's only temporary, Ethereum will taken over back their position in short time, by the way I hope that Stellar will replace Ripple become Top 3 Cryptocurrency because I always believe that Stellar is better than Ripple

yep, finally XRP has proven its quality as a centralized coin that is safer than Ethereum
the weakness of Ethereum is that ETH coins will never become scarce as long as the total supply is still unlimited, while the XRP is now a coin that can be controlled by some of the global elite which of course they want to maintain the existence of XRP rather than ETH,

Ripple shows himself now as a pump and does not believe that he is able to continue on this level. Remember, quite recently he was also in second place and quickly rolled back. So it will be now at the first rise.

Completely agree with you that the Ethereum will not give so easily, because it happenned several times and Ethereum did not lose its position as final. So I think that this time will be the same. It's great to see the competitive process becausr it makes the team to do something in order to develop and move on, because only in such a way doing something you may keep your leader position.

This is indeed extraordinary competition between Ripple and ethereum. Before it happened, ripple was ranked second under bitcoin. As volume goes on, Ethereum can restore position under bitcoin. After the crypto market was raging and I now see and can't be denied, Ripple is back in second place. This is indeed very scary and very extraordinary. Lol does it make sense to compare the platform that has been getting a lot support from bankers with platform that created by its own community? Ripple just offers its blockchain manufacture to the bankers and as the token holders and you get nothing from there. Can you tell me what will you get by hold your ripple?

Ripple has been strong after market decline. The status of ETH has been seriously threatened. I think Ripple will be in the second place in the future. You are right. Ripple is still profitable. You can buy it in due course.

Ripple only does well when sentiment turns against cryptocurrencies in general. When sentiment turns and cryptocurrencies rise again Ripple will get left behind. You can keep it as portfolio insurance if you want but I am betting on a bright future for cryptocurrencies so I won't ever be buying any Ripple. If you really want portfolio insurance you would do better putting your money in a stable coin.

there has always been a competition between the pumping altcoins with fake market cap to take each other's positions for years. this is not a new thing although ETH is a coin that has stuck up there for a long time thanks to the ICOs that have pumped it so much but now that the ICOs are failing just as fast as they got popular, the ETH price is dropping just as fast too and with it the fake market cap is evaporating and it loses its position.

the second coin is actually experiencing the development of up and down that generate even more profits. This is shown from their prices close pursuit. so they both compete and Ripple are trying to take over the position of Ethereum in the Cryptocurrency market.
