Title: Black Friday deals
Post by: OmegaStarScream on November 16, 2018, 03:47:49 PM
For now, I know that Namecheap which is known for selling domains, SSL certificates, hostings etc. and Newegg for electronics are going to have some good discounts on Black Friday and they both accept Bitcoin. Any other services that you're aware of?

Accepting Bitcoin:

Overstock  (https://www.overstock.com/)(Furniture, clothes etc.)
Newegg  (https://www.newegg.com)(Electronics, Computer parts etc.)
NameCheap  (https://www.namecheap.com/)(Domain names, hosting etc.)
Ledger nano S (https://www.ledger.com/products/ledger-nano-s/) (Hardware wallet - 30% off If you buy 3 - 20% If you buy 2.)

KeepKey (https://twitter.com/cryptokeepkey/status/1064957968725217280) (25% OFF).
PUREVPN (27% & 73% OFF (https://www.purevpn.com/vpn-deals/blackfriday) / 88% OFF (https://www.purevpn.com/best-vpn-deal)).
TradingView (https://www.tradingview.com/black-friday/) (40% - 60% OFF).
SCAN (https://www.scan.co.uk/blackfriday) [UK]
Hostinger (https://www.hostinger.com/)

-- I never heard of these services
Bees Brothers (http://www.beesbros.com/bitcoin-store-black-friday.html) - 20% off when buying with Bitcoin + Altcoins
Zen Magnets (https://zenmagnets.com/the-zen-triumph-gift-set/) - 20% off their Zen Triumph magnet set
Hosterbox (https://hosterbox.com/black-friday-bitcoin.php) - 50% off all web hosting plans

Not accepting bitcoin:

Nike, Adidas, Amazon, BestBuy, Macy's, Target are all services that currently Black Friday offers.

They do not accept bitcoin directly, so you'll have to use Bitrefill.com (https://www.bitrefill.com/)and buy gift cards from them.

Overstock[1] currently also has black friday deals (up to 70% as stated on their website). As far as I know, overstock is still accepting bitcoin as payment so you might want to check it out.

Happy shopping. :P

I was waiting for an offer from Vultr to renew my server, but nothing. "Sir, great project but how to use it?" Not even from NameSilo. Smh!
If anyone was waiting for an offer from Ledger and Trezor, there is nothing for you too folks. @mjglqw Overstock ships worldwide?

@mjglqw Overstock ships worldwide?
To answer your question, yes they did but only few, here[1] are the list of the 30 supported countries but they will require to register and install your personal DoUWantIt Shopping Assistant first on douwantit.com.

[EDIT] Wait, seems douwantit.com is out of business now. Anyway, you can see on this link[2] for the countries supported their international shipping, 180 in total.

Whenever someone mentions BlackFriday on bitcointalk, it takes me back to the scam that was so well organised with the high paid signature campaign and everything. Be safe kids, there is a whole lot of shithole out there with the black Friday scams.

For now, I know that Namecheap which is known for selling domains, SSL certificates, hostings etc. and Newegg for electronics are going to have some good discounts on Black Friday and they both accept Bitcoin. Any other services that you're aware of?
I'll just stick to Amazon or my local distributors.

They do. During last year's Black Friday, the Ledger was 21% OFF while the Trezor had a "pay for 2, get 3" promotion.

edit: the post is directed to whoever asked if Ledger/Trezor does Black Friday promotions. I'm not sure where is it now.

Wait why? I thought it was a yearly event?  :'( There's still nothing on their site about it but I have also never seen them announce it beforehand or maybe I wasn't much updated this past years.

Not exactly direct, but it's always possible to convert BTC to Amazon GCs and use them on Amazon during their week-long Black Friday deals week (I usually get AGCs from BitRefill's Vouchers section, (https://www.bitrefill.com/vouchers) never had problems); I did this last year with my account that has Amazon Prime, and everything went smoothly as you would if you used Prime with a credit card. Bitrefill's also got Walmart, eBay and Best Buy Giftcards if you're looking to buy from any of those retailers during Black Friday.

Not even from NameSilo.

NameSilo is already incredibly cheap; I doubt they'll offer any additional discounts.

@Potato Chips
Well, I checked the Ledger and Trezor website and they announced nothing either their website or their Twitter account. There is one offer currently from Ledger but it isn't one for the Black Friday (it was about the Ledger Nano Color Edition with an up to 20% discount) I know they do some Black Friday I bought mine during a Black Friday.

@DarkStar_
True, it's cheap, but I can't refuse to save 1-2$ greed doesn't kill :D

No need to buy giftcards first; Purse.IO (https://purse.io/shop) allows you to buy any product from Amazon with Bitcoin, where the best thing is that you can get an additional 5-30% discount.

I can't wait for black friday and cyber monday discounts. I don't really need anything from Amazon, I just want to spend my coins as enthusiast and purist, because Bitcoin is money, and it should be spent without converting it to fiat or giftcards first.

I used Purse a few times and got some great discounts on the original Amazon price. Since I stopped to use it because we're not so well protected from stolen cards purchases, and I don't really need a problem with this kind...
I would prefer to be able to buy Amazon Gift Cards myself and then use on my own Amazon account. Yesterday I found the link posted by @leowonderful has gift cards for my local Amazon and not the .com. Too bad I missed a few deals there. Well, let's wait for CyberMonday :p

Oh, I bought mine hardware wallet with big discount on Black Friday last year. But I'm not really sure that they will offer something similar this year. They don't have any announcements about it so far, and they already had offered big discounts in recent months and weeks.

Me too I bought it during a Black Friday. Black Fridays are now a marketing trick before it was twice a year now it becomes each trimester ::). Next month they will surely have an offer with the Christmas holidays. As Christmas is for us a more traditional way for promotions from shops.

I just haven't seen them announce it a few days early, so I was wondering if there's really no chance. I actually looked up their blog posts and tweets about black friday and the dates are either a day before or at the start.

I doubt Ledger nano S will do another offer after this one, so I listed it on the OP with other services. If you have more, please let me know.

As for Trezor, I have contacted them and this was their response (It looked like a yes for me):

Code:
There's always something brewing in our marketing department. I am not able to give you any specific information at the moment.

Actually finding it strange that no deals I can find are of any interest to me. Last year missed out on a couple of Bitcoin only deals because I simply wasn't prepared (yeah, ignorant old me only discovered Black Friday recently).

Going to be watching our forum marketplace. Recall some cool auctions there. Already got my hardware wallet but a spare isn't a bad idea. Hmm.

I've found a few more:

Bees Brothers (http://www.beesbros.com/bitcoin-store-black-friday.html) - 20% off when buying with Bitcoin + Altcoins
Zen Magnets (https://zenmagnets.com/the-zen-triumph-gift-set/) - 20% off their Zen Triumph magnet set
Hosterbox (https://hosterbox.com/black-friday-bitcoin.php) - 50% off all web hosting plans

There's a bunch more deals here: https://bitcoinblackfriday.com/browse

Not everything is that interesting and some services don't exactly look trustworthy.
Have purchased from Beesbrothers before though and was very pleased with their honey and service.

Okay good news! Ledger is doing a 50% off on nano S but only the on the matte black one, see here: https://www.ledger.com/products/ledger-nano-s

There's nothing on trezor tho  :-\ Oh well, the bundle deal they did last year wasn't that appealing to me in the first place.

Yeah I jumped on that deal and got me a new Ledger Nano S, paid with Bitcoin of course.
I think it's actually the first Black Friday purchase I've ever made.

Already had one in the past, but I managed to break it :-/

Gotta say that I'm pleasantly surprised with their service, already have confirmation that it's been shippen.
About an hour after I've ordered it/

Thanks for posting the deal on the Ledger Nano! I already have two in my possession for storing crypto, but this is about as low as I have ever seen for the Nanos, and they're pretty robust devices in my experience. Both of mine are already matte black, and I don't have any color preference, so this is perfect for me. I might also consider a Trezor with the deal they're having right now, but it seems they charge a pretty hefty shipping fee, and Ledger offers free shipping on their Nano. It's a shame there doesn't seem to be any discounts for anything else like the Blue, as I was previously considering trying one out, but this is already more than I expected.

Wow, it's crazy good deal from Ledger. 50% discount with VAT included it's very low price. Last year on Black Friday I spent €70 with shipping and VAT, there was 21% discount to compare.
Well, if you wanted to get new hardware wallet and save some money, there was really nice offers from Ledger, Trezor and Keepkey.
Personally, I haven't made many purchases this year, I just extended my hosting with discount.
