Title: keyboard suddenly change characters
Post by: gawer33 on November 17, 2018, 02:21:10 AM
I know this might not be the right section but I think someone is trying to hack my wallet. I check the windows resource monitor and when I disable aodmr.exe all come back to normal I'm thinking third party wallet might be involved.

edit: I have notice screenshot as well

google says: ASUS Media Streamer DMR AODMR.exe

apart from that, are you sure you aren't clicking the windows key + space? it toggles between languages (usually it's english + install language I think)

keyboard suddenly change characters
Dont risk it, reinstall your operating system immidietly.
Better do some extra work than to be sorry later on.

Never execute files you are not absolute sure where they come from and that they are clean.

Try uninstalling AODMR.exe and all your installed language packs.
Can you post some screenshots to show the problem? So that we can help you find the problem better.

update virus still there, the virus automatically close after opening task manager so I thought initially was  AODMR.exe but it's not. the screenshot does not work when the virus is open I will do a camera shot when it happens again. a Russian keyboard is showing even I don't have a language pack for that. no application can be open/function properly(anti-virus automatically close) beside browsers when the virus is open.

Do what Velkro said and reinstall your OS immediately. Change your passwords and move your coins to a brand new wallet.

Even if it's nothing, why should you risk it?

What do you mean by "all come back to normal "? This program allows you to enjoy your multimedia content anywhere, from your TV to your smartphone.
It is not a basic program that comes with the Windows package so the security risk is high.
Uninstall it "You'll find it in Media Streamer" and check your device activity again.
If there is unusual activity, it is better to reinstall your operating system and transfer your currencies to a secure wallet.

I recommend using flash memory and have a Linux-based operating system that you can boot from.

Reinstalling OS is the best solution. After you reinstall your Operating System whether if it is windows 7 8 9 or 10  you should have a partition of your hard disk local disk C for the files of OS and other partition for applications and third is for files you have to keep. Use Deep Freeze in your OS to avoid your OS to be corrupted by any malware there is.

Don't be panic mate what can you do now is reinstall your OS which will be the best way to be a free-form virus or a hacker. If you install a new os then hackers won't be able to hack your information by previous data. Later you can use a trustworthy wallet which would be better for your wallet security.

Reinstalling the operating system is a bit overkill, backup your data and change your passwords, then see if you can diagnose the problem. If malwarebytes and avast can't pick it up then it could just be a background task from an unknown program
