does the phrase "for the time beeing" imply any duration or likehood for a change?

It's usually stated "for the time being," and means until the indefinite future.
In other words, you don't want to deal with the problem now.

Yeah, typical phrase is: It's okay for the time being. Meaning is "It's okay for now but maybe be better later"
