Title: Should I keep calm and wait?
Post by: iTradeBit on November 22, 2018, 02:27:46 PM
Bitcoin is ready to stabilize, is it worth to calm down and wait?
How quick will the market begin to return to the massive increase in altcoins in your opinion?

Without patience their is nothing in this crypto  market as you would require lot of calmness if you have to stay in long term and make millions of dollars. In short term you can make small money but for long term you would require to be calm and keep buying.

we know that crypto has a bad climate in 2018 because prices continue to decline, and the price decline will take longer to rise from the worst. but every crypto user must be more optimistic because crypto is a technology product that is needed in the future, be patient and continue to provide positive learning about crypto to everyone because this will provide a good climate for crypto

What's the alternative to "keep calm and wait"? Panic and rush in? Doesn't really feel like there's any other good way to deal with Bitcoin, is there?

Forget asking about the opinion of others, and form your own. It's going to prove to be just as accurate, if not more so, than any opinion you'll get from this forum.

It's like anything in life really, come to think of it. If you can't afford to be patient with Bitcoin, best not dabble. If you're after quick profits, you'd best try your luck (yes, luck) at gambling on exchanges, buy and sell with the tide. If you can afford the time, spend it reading up and learning about Bitcoin before asking about price opinions. You'll thank yourself later for having learnt more about Bitcoin and using it in more useful ways - regardless of what price it's at.

Bitcoin is always been good to see it as a main coin when we do talk possible increase on altcoins too because its always been tied up on how BTC price behave in the market.
For now panic cant really be avoided but if you are here on this market for quiet sometime then you would already know on what to do. Hold your position and accumulate more since the
price was still low compared on last years.

After making lots of threads, I think you should understand by now how to deal on that concern.

Is it worth to calm down and wait? You are the only one who can answer this. For some, it's worth it. For some maybe it's not. We have different approach so better make on your own. Other doings might not be effective to you that's why you need to rely on your strategy. You have reasons to believed in bitcoin but it's up to you to make a decision.

For the last question, no one knows what will happened next. There should be a basis before making a speculation about that.

Do you need your money back fast? If you take it now you will not get all you invested, it will be a loss. You must wait like all of us. The market is a cycle and has ups and downs. It is worth waiting if you see how the market grows after hitting low in the years before.

The price increase in 2017 may be caused by everyone who is new to cryptocurrency and then they start investing in it. And the decline in prices in 2018 is also caused by everyone who is new to cryptocurrency and they do not know the true characteristics of the cryptocurrency, so when there are sales by several investors, each new person follows the same thing to sell the assets they have. Investing in cryptocurrency is different from other places, usually everyone who will invest elsewhere they will really assess the place, but when investing in cryptocurrency they have ignored it. This is your problem, between calm and wait there's actually something you have to do.

I know, right?  How are you supposed to answer questions like this?  "No, be frantic and continue pulling your hair out" isn't exactly good advice if you're trading bitcoin or anything else.

If you're a holder of bitcoin at the moment, I'd definitely keep holding.  Selling when prices are down is how you lose money, and unless you really believe bitcoin is going lower for the long-term, there's no need to sell.  In fact, it's probably a good time to buy if you ask me--and I've said that numerous times over the past few days.  It just sucks not having enough fiat to get in right now.

Heh, yeah. It's as if people just want validation for decisions they've already made a long time ago.

People don't want to admit it but most who "got into Bitcoin" never really had a plan. They probably bought on impulse, harbouring some unrealistic dream of x100 and lambo moons. And when the inevitable arrives (yes, this has happened before this crypto winter), they're begging for people to pat them on the back and say "it's okay, get out now, rush out, we all are".

You're right. If you truly believe Bitcoin's dead or headed for the grave, then yeah. Sell. But that belief shouldn't have led you to buying Bitcoin in the past year, which is what OP probably did.

Sucks for us exactly. I also still have to sell as I do every few weeks, and the past 2 big sells were particularly painful, took my BTC holdings back down a level I'd taken so long to build up.

Yes you have to stay calm and wait if you are the holder of bitcoin, but all of those decisions are on yourself and you cannot always follow the choices of others, because if you always follow the choices of others, I worry about the choices you choose from people others it is a mistake. So by having personal beliefs like what your decision or choice is, then at least you will become accustomed later and not always ask for people's opinions.

For me personally, I will always try to stay calm when a crash occurs and wait to recover, I'm also not too concerned about how long I have to wait. Honestly, I panicked when this crash happened and had wanted to sell, but because I still had confidence in the future of crypto, I tried to stay calm and I was willing to wait not to sell it when it was dumped.

You should definetely stay calm, that is the best thing you can do. Of coir, sometimes when you invested a lot that isn't the easiest thing to do but with panic and reckless decisions you could only make situation worse.
If you have any experience then you are aware that this is not the first or last such situations when the market is falling. As well you know that it will recover eventualy, it's the question of time.
Don't listen to different panic predictions and don't bother with price too much and you will be fine.

"Good things come to those that wait"

All you have to do is be patient and don't let the negativity effect you.  People who sold recently will be crying when bitcoin hits 100k.  Crypto veterans have been through this many times before so this is nothing new.  I don't even check prices daily anymore because I know the price will rise in the long run.

OP usually newbie ask this kind of question so i think you better to do investment here like do it little by little because market or btc and alts here can grow after a year or meaning it takes time or it can happen anytime then unfortunately vice versa like it can continue to drops so crypto investment is really unpredictable so apply this in your question like you need to be calm and just wait until market go grow
Not at all because even veteran would really have the same questions on mind.I doubt that you do ask out this kind of basic thing of question. When it comes to investment
seeing this current market condition will really lead into those questions which I don't really see any problem with it. Patience is always been a good move where waiting out
the best opportunity to set-in.

Actually you don't need to ask if you need to be calm. It's a common sense that you need to be calm at all time. Getting panic has never been good. Being calm will prevent yourself from making a bad decision that will result into losses if not. Aside from being smart, working hard, patience and stay calm is all you need to do if you want to have a success here in crypto.

Is there any other thing left to do at this stage ? I guess not!

If there is anyone actually getting scared, panicking and selling at loss at this point, then, it pretty much shows their level of intelligence when it comes to the market. When situations like this arrives, the best is to just keep calm, have a plan, know how to execute those plans, and in between those plans, you actually want to be buying at this stage and not selling.

Investment should always be long term, if you want to trade, learn how to trade, if you cannot trade, then focus on the long term; it is just as simple as that. These days, I feel people just tend to take too much risk than they can handle, and that is always the problem.

I think it's gonna happen in the second half of 2019. By the time SEC will approve ETF application from someone, institutional investor will come to the market and everybody will be happy. Especially people who invested on the dip. Hot thing in next year will be something like decentralized exchanges (https://ethermium.com) and stablecoins. Right now the most important thing is to find right point to enter the market. It's up to you.

Market will rise soon and not to worry much about it. Yes also if you have some extra money it is the time to buy the altcoins and btc as many coins have fallen so much that you can now buy easily at the best rates. Also this investment could yield you profits soon as well.

No way to know yet if the market will stabilize soon, keep it in mind, it's an unpredictable scenario. Personally, I think it's better to wait, but each one lives a different situation in life, what is the best option for me, might not be for you.

Just be aware that it can take a long time to see BTC price rising again and we don't know if it will still reach even lower. Make sure your financial life is organized for now and if you choose to keep holding, better to guarantee you won't need to cashout your Crypto funds soon.

And let's hope this crisis will be ended faster as possible and the green color will be back to the charts!

Lol, despite this whole advise that are being given to people here, a lot of them are still selling their Bitcoins without thinking about it. Some say it’s best for them to sell now, maybe when the price starts to rise they will then buy again and start to hold. You never can tell what will happen and you shouldn’t be relying on things that happened before to say what will happen. I’m holding mine and I’m selling.

Very well said. Take time to read in this forum and other sites that will help you to learn about crypto. Invest your time first before making a decision of taking risk to invest with many then ask what to do when it doesn't work as what you expect. You can learn strategies on your own and then ask opinion when you can't find an answer on your own. Market is very volatile, you can play with it by trading or gaming. You have to know the risks from what you have to do.

In this kind of market, keep calm and wait is the best option.   When you are dealing with cryptocurrency your best trait  should be "'PATIENCE".  Here in Bitcoin, calmness is a must if you want to achieved what your goals are. As we all knew,  the nature of cryptocurrency is volatile so we have to prepare ourselves for this kind of occurrence here in crypto world and plan options.  Mine is, while waiting for the market to go up again, I still continue doing bounty campaigns to accumulate more coins in preparation of the bull run (hoping it will happen in the very near future) and from time to time I read news and information regarding cryptocurrency to broaden my understanding of Bitcoin.  Make use of the time that this bearish market is creating, so that your mind won't be focused entire on the down market which makes you anxious and worried.  It is nice to be always positive, just stay calm and wait for the bull run to happened again, for it will,  eventually because CRYPTOCURRENCY is the future of the world.

Change can happen so quickly and that is a normal thing to happen. in my opinion that prices are still very likely to experience an increase. staying calm and waiting can be the best choice. I hope the situation will be much better and we can get some opportunities to make a profit. The market will always change and when there is a change, we will be able to use the momentum as well as possible.

True, why worry when you can do nothing about it.  Then if you can do something, you do not need to worry at all.  At this time where we can only do is sit down and watch, we need to gather ourselves even though our investment is crashing.  This is just another history of crash in Bitcoin.  There are several events like this before this one but Bitcoin had proven itself to bounce back and recover.  And when it does, it often set new ATH.

And what else could you do, is there any other choice? I don't think so. If you sell, you will loose unless you have bought below 3500$$. I know that people are getting nervous thinking this lasts for too long and many are very disappointed because they have expected a lot from this year in term of price rise.
But we can't influence or change current situation so the best thing is to wait for price to recover. And don't forget that this is not the last time that Bitcoin price will dump so be prepared for the next time.

I don't think that markets are going to be turning bullish any time soon. If you need cash now, then you should probably need to cash out your coins.

But if that is the case, then you definitely should have accounted for that before you even invested and potentially not invested at all. But if you don't need any funds in the near future, I would certainly think that holding is a good strategy.

And at this point in the bear market where there has already been around 1 year of continuous dips, I think that markets are potentially going to bottom out in the next year or so which means that the current prices should be fairly close to the price floor. To me, if you have any spare funds, it would certainly be a good idea to buy and accumulate BTC gradually, for the long term.

We don't have any option to prevent from losing, we can hold until we can manage it to do so. But it is very hard for us if we are in doubts and in need of money. This is some reason's why some people will sell their coins even they are still losing, it is really depend on the current situation.

You have to be patient whether bitcoin is ready to be stable or not, calm down and waiting is what they called as patient as well. About how long  or how quick the market will begin to its massive increase is actually no guarantee for that, no one knows when it will return, no one can predict since bitcoin is unpredictable, that what matters.

I think what the original poster meant to ask is that maybe the market will fall even further? Maybe it will go down to $2 k price range like how everyone has been talking about, maybe $3k is closer than what we all think ? I mean would you be expecting 4 thousand dollars just couple weeks ago ? Not really none of us expected that. Hence, I think the main question was leaning towards "should I sell all I have in order to not get burned when bitcoin drops any further or do you think I should hold my coins hoping price will go up".

It is not any different than millions of people are asking each other whenever the topic is bitcoin, "will it go up or will it go down". Simple question however asked a bit differently here. I think price will go up but not right away so you better hold and wait for a bit.

Having patience and waiting to make use of the opportunity is the right one can do by this time. Now active users who have got lot of fiat holdings can make use of it as a time for investment. the price will always be up and down whether now or in the future, if you have been calm in the past when the price was high then stay calm until it can go up again. The best is not depend on btc to fund your daily life, let it sit there and buy more if you like since the price is good now.

These should be our SOP every time the market is really in difficult in which patience is a virtue specially if we are investing top ranked and very promising crypto assets like Bitcoin. What is the point of selling them low now in which it will just cost you a sure lose but if we keep on holding then rest assured it will bounce back as these top ranked coins are have been in this situation before and still survived.

MY view of crypto is that it has to develop over time, both fundamentals, the regulatory and business side and also obviously pricing across its popuations of users.

Heres the 8 day moving average which is purely speculative and reflects sentiment I guess, above generally a positive -

https://i.imgur.com/jtYGBSt.png

The blue line is flatening out as we steady around the prices here vs the previous decline.    Then we must react with that region positively or negatively, seems to be just bouncing within this region for now
