Anyone knows what is really the reason behind of falling bitcoin value? Is there any news or article that you can share here guys? I am also confused if I still want to hold my bitcoin or just sell but if I do that, I will lose a lot just like to those who already make panic selling.

I believe that bitcoin's price is affected by someone. this person can adjust the price, make it lower and buy as much as possible.

Most likely reason in my opinion is that people that bought bitcoin expecting that it will make them rich in a short timespan gave up as bitcoin is just continuing to drop in price, which is definitely not what they were looking forward to. Hence why we see "bitcoin is dead" news and a lot of people agreeing with it on social media. We're probably already in the capitulation phase or at least close to it. A bit more blood probably.

Because of all this drama with the BCH war, not to mention institutional investors probably saw it as a great opportunity to suppress the price.

There is a dozen questions like this one on each board in the forum, the answers will be the same no matter how many times you ask.
Generally speaking, there are people believing the crash comes from the BCH soap opera, while other people believe it's all about manipulation to increase a BTC bag Which is the most possible reason to me.

No single individual can wield that much enormous powers as to single handedly affect the price of the bitcoin,its basically impossible,we have heard of a group of individuals(whales),who dominate the market based on their astronomically large asset,but even such assumptions most times is yet to be clarified if it aint actually a myth

From my stay on the forum,ive heard a lot of time that certain factors trigger the price of the bitcoin(a rise or a fall), but I'm not yet privy to such factors

Well, it's not a surprise that Bitcoin has been declining it's since January 2018, what you were expecting the Bitcoin value rising forever?

This is only a healthy correction, From my perspective, the Bitcoin value still has a chance to plunge to the levels of 3000$ - 1200$, or maybe this 4000$ level is the final support, which I doubt it is.

Could be some manipulation from some big whales, could be the whole hashwar and all that stuff going on within the Bcash community, or perhaps some people got tired of waiting for an upward movement that they decided to dump their coins, or maybe it's the lack of external buying pressure...it's too difficult to pinpoint the reason behind the drop as there are too many factors in play in the crypto market. If you can't handle this kind of price swings, then I'd recommend you to leave this market asap.

Nobody knows for sure, but many blame the fork of bch for that to happen, remember that this market moves a lot in speculation, so if something generates instability or FUD great price movements occur because people do not really know what to do and get their money just in case.

In my opinion, it's useless to find the reasons or try to explain yourself. It's just a game only. The crypto game ended 10 months ago and the question is, when it will start again? Just wait and prepare carefully yourself to take this chance in the future. That's all

I think that the price of Bitcoin every day falls because people started to panic and began to sell their investments. But I think it will not last long, soon in my opinion everything should be restored.

The bitcoin has the characteristcis of being volatile, so it is possible that the price of the bitcoin can drop so much. Manipulation of the whales is one of the factors why the value of the bitcoin goes down and down.

Actually crypto cannot be read where the value will go Including BTC,It all depends on your strength for HODL if you don't want to lose a lot but my advice is that you can grow your BTC in most crypto investments.There is a lot of news about this maybe you can read it here Cryptocurrency News (https://www.ccn.com).

It's more of a FUD now as the drama with hashwar fades but the effect will be seen in the coming months unless there will be some major supports along the way to reverse the tide. Though this is not soon, we have to be vigilant as always as it can also do something we can't catch up on.

I can tell you what the conspiracy theory are... The institutional investors are using Fiat to suppress the price, because they know the Bitcoin ETFs will be approved and the Bitcoin price will skyrocket in 2019.

A lot of these investors were late for the "cheap" coins, so they want to push the price down to get people to panic and then they want to swoop in to buy all these cheap coins before the spike in the price in 2019.  ::) ::) ::)

Market is not stable, bitcoin is falling down and it affects altcoins also. I think the reason is there are lack of adaptation for new investors that uses bitcoins and cryptocurrencies to rise its demand and also its price.

I do not recommend trusted analyst estimates from Mass Media, because they can make statements that support certain financial structures, organizations and make specific predictions from those who benefit from falling prices in the crypto market. In addition, the "Bloomberg" forecast is only based on assumptions

There is no "EXACT" reason why the price of Bitcoin is falling right now.

To be honest, I'm not feeling anything about the falling price of Bitcoin. Many of us are here because we want to learn about cryptocurrencies. We must trust them especially Bitcoin that is why I'm just holding my Bitcoin and I will not panic sell. Never..

The exact reason is not sure, but I find that there is a good reason for this because of the recent events, which led to a lot of bitcoin withdrawals, which led to the fall in prices. This is my opinion and you see is it good?  ???

i am still in awe as i woke up to see the all time yearly low of 2018 to be at $3700 on the 24th of november. i think it is not going below the $3000 dollar mark as have been predicted by other traders in the crypto space but i know that no matter what the reason  is for such a plummet, it just doesn't make it nice.

FUD has caused panic selling and most investors are offsetting their bitcoins for a more stable investment. Others believe is the Bitcoin Cash division that has resulted in the low price of bitcoin and the whole market too.

Bitcoin isn't a free currency like it's been advertised. Many organizations control cryptocurrencies and manipulate the price according to the needs.

Mains reasons are it has no value outside of the Blockchain and is therefore driven by "Investors" and sentiment. Last year people bought into the hype and drove the price up leaving many newbies staring at a loss.  Going forward regulation will reduce the appeal from criminals and leave the die hard fans and the true value will be reflected in the price.  Unless the crypto currency is less volatile and more useful as a medium to spend in shops it will have no future.  Probably an opportunity to make a profit but looking really risky at ther moment as the price just heads south, anyone still in the market good luck to you.

I think the exact reason why bitcoin's value fall right now is theory of the law of supply and demand. I think now we are experiencing that low price is because there are many supplies of bitcoin stocks that did not buy because people are now afraid to invest at bitcoin business. So if the supplies are already high rather than demand definitely the value will also fall like also in other business specially in merchandising business. So I think if all of us will be believe and continously patronizing bitcoin it's will ve rise again like past few year that the bitcoin price is perpectly huge and consunable.

I don't think it is because of BCH, because as I observe, bitcoin is the mother of all coins so BCH is also just relying to bitcoin. So why can you say that it is because of BCH.

I think what makes bitcoin fall is a mistake by thinking that bitcoin is an investment that provides wealth in a short time, but bitcoin doesn't increase as expected so it makes them disappointed and choose to sell low.

I think the mix of negative occurrences became the reason of bitcoin’s collapse. The mix consists from BCH war, regulatory actions of the SEC towards ICOs, and bad condition of the global markets that dropped during the last months. And behind the scene, the crypto whales contributed and dumped bitcoin to its lowest price since the last year.

Tax loss harvesting is probably also coming into play. Lots of fun stuff has come together in the past couple of months to create a fire sale on BTC!

I agree and as what we can see we still don't see any BIG improvements to the market. There is a little movement from the market but unlike year 2017 it really boost like a rocket that's why many BIG investors got interested with bitcoin but as what we can see, big dump for bitcoin up to until now, but I think this year can have a good potential now as it move upward even little by little.

I think yesterday pump was good to see in crypto market. But If you compared to 2017 result it is not satisfied because big manipulation was occur in last year chinese new year. So it takes some time to improve slowly and if believe the crypto potential you can wait for next bull run.

I hope this pump will continue and more people buy and hold their bitcoin and wait for a bull run, even if most think will go down again this time will not go so much down in my opinion.

The question seems like the OP is a. Newbie who just bought this hero account for signature campaign. He existed in this forum 1 year more than mine and still getting confused with the basic info which has an information of about a hundred in that three years. But anyways,  if that so, its a good thing if the value drops because you can acquire more bitcoins or altcoins then hold.
