I am pleased to announce a giveaway starting on 12/1/2018 running through 12/24/2018 for users of version 2.1 or higher "Fuddware". I'm sure many of you have seen the main thread for the firmware already, but I will link it here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5036968.0) just in case it was missed.

The rules are simple, two ways to enter:

Option A

1) Run version 2.1 or higher firmware on your Z9 or Z9 Mini unit(s)
2) One automatic entry will occur per unit per day (this is based on the 'Support ID' unique to each machine for support purposes) per unit.
3) This will run from 12/01/2018 00:00 GMT time to 12/24/2018 12:00 GMT time.
4) On the evening of December 24th, I will select one system at random for a brand new Playstation 4 / Spiderman combo.
5) This offer is available worldwide (except where prohibited by law) and will include free shipping.

Option B
Post in this thread beginning 12/01 and tell us a little about why you got started into mining or cryptocurrency.
Each user who posts (more than a single sentence) will be given 1 entry in the prize pool.
There is a maximum of one entry through this method as "Option A" is the primary method.

A user will be notified through this thread, through discord, and through their miner "Summary" page. If for some reason a user does not come forward, a backup drawing will occur.

This offer is available to all users of the firmware.

If this goes well, I hope to continue a similar giveaway each month going forward.

Grkboy439 - I changed my mind and updated the rules. Anyone who posts in this thread beginning 12/01/18 will be entered into the drawing as well. A single entry maximum per person with this method as the primary method for entries are users of the firmware.

First of all, thank you efudd for the effort and for the possibility to your firmware also for the mini's.

I started with mining out of curiosity and of course the combination of hardware to make money, no one can deny it, was a great incentive to all that.
I started like the majority of all us with GPU mining and than had to switch to ASICs to stay competitive or at least not making minus despite the ROI of the ASICs.
Maybe the playstation is a stonger miner as the ASICs...lets see :D

Edit.: My bad I think i didnt really read full option B :) . I started mining at july 2017 and got bunch of mixed cards as gtx 10xx series - basically 1063,1070,1070ti,1080,1080ti. I bought some of them few months ago when btc was still arround 6k ^^ but got them somewhat cheap. (Will post further later)

Thank you Jason for your hard work on this firmware! The per board hash frequency setting is just what the doctor ordered for a couple of my z9 minis! Now for the story.... I was a disbeliever back in the hay day when bitcoin was young, never got into it then (regrets). Years later I have a successful job and can afford an expensive hobby. Plus how else can I support my wife's shopping sprees! Lol. Thanks again for the great firmware!

Folk,

Following the same logic used for the 1 ZEC contest the beginning of this month, the winner of the PS4/Spiderman bundle has been selected and contacted.

There were a total of 7,013 entries, 6 of which were from forum users on the giveaway thread, the rest were from firmware users.

I'll make the breakdown of entries per day available if requested, but I figured 24 lines of data would not really be helpful.

For each user who posted in the giveaway thread, 1 entry was added.
For each system that was running firmware, paid or free, 1 entry was added per day.

This file was randomly shuffled.

To select a real random number, I requested a number between 1 and 10000 from my wife and 2 users on the equihash discord service.

The numbers selected were: 25, 8731, and 1369.

These were totaled and divided by 2, dropping any decimal to determine the winning entry in the data file (25+8731+1369)/2 = 5062.5 or 5062 after dropping the decimal.

This resulted in a winning support ID of c0492572-fbf5-11e8-8c83-XXXXXXXX (last part has been obscured).

The winner happens to be a user on the Equihash discord chat (see my signature for a link to the discord) by the name of MinerX.312 - congrats!

I will begin another contest at the beginning of the year and I thank everyone for the participation.
