Please someone (who capable to that) stop this forks shits.

This became a new Ponzi method. Someone starts to "lets make a new forks" and earn money without work. Bitcoin Cash may a good idea (which I still don't believe) but after them all is a garbage!

This forks is going to harm all market, it is already doing it!

We're sick after the news of fork. It is coming out in everyday. Morever, it is not only for Bitcoin. Last year we've seen a lot of forks. For example: Ethereum, NXT, Ethereum Classic, NEO, and even DOGE...

We don't need any forks. Support the main blockchain networks and if you don't want to believe Bitcoin, then support another projects which suits you.

This is the beauty of decentralization, everyone is free to conduct their own solution for the problem that they can see and produce their own fork.

But sad to say that there's no one that can stop these forks, all of these has an open source code which can be modified by anyone.

So this is the real reason why bitcoin market price has been drop. But why BCH and other crypto do hard fork also been drop in terms of its market price? Instead it will make a good market price pump if they just becoming a fork of bitcoin because BCH has a good market and there are many investors believing on BCH so this should not the reason why BCH bitcoin fork and bitcoin will make the market fall down.

To some extent I do agree with you... on a certain point of view forks are a way of splitting power and delay the progress of crypto in general...on most part they are generated by the egocentric and maniac developers that can't be adults and find a common ground... some of them might even be driven only by money interests...
But we have to remember that we are facing evolution, and sometimes things need to go separate ways and a lot of chaos and confusion will finnaly someday bring a stronger system

Well, forks are just inevitable. Overtime communities divide, new leaders emerge and they find it best to separate when their demands or opinions are not respected. No one is capable for stopping these forks. It's not something that you give a stop command and it stops. Communities with opposing views need to make compromises to stay together. Otherwise we will keep seeing such splits. The worst of them is of course BCASH split into ABC and SV. The new heights of disagreements and greed.

Yes, you are right, no one can forbid making forks, but I is also sure that this is ordinary human greed. These are the ambitions of some people who only harm the market. A lot of projects make forks just for speculation. Players want to make money and that's normal. But I repeat - this is detrimental to the market, unfortunately ..

you can't stop people from copying an open source code and create their own version of it. and also this is a free market and it must remain like that which means anybody is free to create a new coin and release it to the public.

the only thing you can do is to start educating others (the newbies) so that they can understand the difference between a real project and a real coin like bitcoin and a shitcoin copy like bitcoincash. if you do that, then you automatically and eventually stop "forks shit".

i think taht there shojld be some test that would allow or not allow peopel to do all they want to as it is wrong of course

The test should come to the investors and they shouldn't put their money first to these fork coins.

It's the discipline that we can use to stop these forks to emerge but only if others are disciplined of not investing and supporting those.

Yes everyone can offer thier own solution, OK! But why are they using Bitcoin name or other cryptocurrencies. They can create and offer new solution for market problems. But no, they are trying to easy way. Bitcoin has a great popularity. And they want to use it.


We are already trying to tell all people from here and other crypto related forums. But it is not enough. There are so many people has alrady got in this world. But less people know what is really going on.

All these forks are rubbish that must be removed from the market. We need to be engaged in the development of parent technology, and nothing will change and the problems will not be solved and we will remain decentralized and unnecessary technology for governments.

The OP is right, the forks need to be ended otherwise we will see more and more throughout 2019 and the market will never recover. Stop buying bitcoin cash of any kind and stick with pure bitcoin. Other coins will follow and we will see a recovery

I think most of the forked tokens are freely advertised by well-known tokens, such as the BTC forks that appear now.

True, the freedom for the developer to develop their idea, and the success of these stuff depends on the community who decided to support them.  If OP so hate the fork, he can  just ignore them.  I guess no one has the power to stop developers to fork any coins since the source code is open to the public.

Nobody needs to do nothing. It is a self correcting problem. You can't stop forking as you can't stop ICO's. This is how crypto universe is going to evolve.

People should eventually get smarter or they'll lose their life savings. You can't stop it and you shouldn't. It is a natural process.

What you are trying to do is like, exterminating all the mosquitoes because they suck our blood. What you don't know is, some other creature's life is depending on the existence of mosquitoes. And that chain reaction which you started will affect you too in the end.

If a centralized authority decides to shut down bad ICO's or bad coins, then they can also decide to shut down bitcoin one day.

it is not ineffective though. what we do is good and it is one step closer to educating everyone. the problem is that we are fighting millions of dollars worth of advertisement that has already brainwashed a lot of people and are still in full force so you can't really expect a small attempt like this to be able to break this mentality overnight.

Using bitcoin's name would give them exposure because there's "bitcoin" on their name.

This is actually a chain reaction for the first people who did it and sadly there's no solution for this unless the community will stick to bitcoin only.

It is all about the money. It can't stop because of two reasons and two key players. First of all people who do the forks are making money because they are making sure they get the most money themselves first and position themselves into a spot where they will be the rich people coming out of it and profit from those forks. Just like bitcoin cash and all that before it happened quickly and made some people rich.

Second reason is that people make money from it, for example bitcoin cash got like %50 price uptick before the fork happened which means not only the owners and creators make money but smaller investors are trying to make money from it too.

Hence, when people are making money and profiting from something at the cost of losing all of this and causing a bear market, you can' tell them "don't do it", they won't listen to you.

they fork because they saw a problem and by forking they can solve the problem and make it more easier to use. they fork because they want to be the owner or the developer itself. forking coin is really easy money.

The crypto market has already been flooded with too many shit coins and moreover with each day a new forks is being announced and ultimately all in vain.For example the etc created by the eth fork has been one of the shitty project with always delays and no real improvements and always behind road map.Many scammers take this advantage of creating false fork luring newbies and investors and people gets scammed.Already we have witnessed the last bch fork and hash war.ultimately the net result has been not what was expected.People are moving away from the newly created abc and sv.I guess it is on its way to doom.

Some believe that what happened after the first forks will succeed again. Unfortunately, the echo of those times has not been heard for a long time and people have understood that this is a simple manipulation. What Roger Ver does is only business and will sooner or later destroy Bitcoin Cash. The same will happen with every coin on which someone will make so many forks.

It's open source so everyone can fork and make their own coin if they have different ideas and it's not like everyone will agree and use that fork, if no one use that fork then it will be useless and it's the same case with bitcoin cash, it's not its fault that the market is going down, people have to blame something for the drop in the market and the fork happen at similiar time.

Not all fork are, some are for the development of the coins.  Other developer tends to fork coins to implement their idea since the original coin do not recognize it.  Without these forks, there will be no competition, and competition improves the services and technology.  Sad thing is not all are for improvement but rather most of them are to grab cash.

 I think your comment fully true. This people wants earn money and popularity. There is nothing to do that. We don't need any second Bitcoin, Ethereum, or any other coins. If we need anything on this market, it is only good and creative one. If this people wants to accomplish something, they can try to create good projects like Ethereum! Vitalik didn't steal someones idea. He created a great coin after Bitcoin. We can discuss and criticise  people who try to do something. For example everyone talking about Justin Sun and criticise him. But he didn't copy or fork any coin. He is trying to make a different project. We have to admire him in this point.

Personally, I also believe that these forks are not quite correct, because in this way the creators of forks mislead people and want to gain popularity at the expense of basic coins. but we cannot prohibit their creation at the moment, we can only not buy such coins, so there will be no demand for them.

I think the reason for hard forks is just not creating new coins. The important thing is to fix the important security risks found in the old version and then make new coins from the hard fork. Hard Fork digital currency (cryptocurrency) is a very technical matter. You must be observant in following the developments that occur.

Even if people are agitating for it to stop, who would stop it. This is a decentralized system where there is no form of regulation binding on them or anyone with such intention. Creating forks of coins such as the one that happened recently, has adverse effect on the market. Perhaps, by the time regulations that would reduce or totally eliminate some of this acts, then things will get better.

Hello i do not think that forks just happened randomly as it seem you are  describing sometimes i mean an most of occasions forks happens when the coin is about to evolve to be faster or sometimes when a internal problem happens the fork happens.

This is a free market and people should be able to make as many forks and copycat coins as they want.  The users will decide which network to support and ultimately what crypto becomes the most valuable.  The whole point of decentralization is that we are free to do what we want and are not bound by government regulations.

I somehow not see this as the beauty anymore, the open source forking had made a terrible situation for crypto, the crash is uncontrolled the trust also keep on declining, unfortunately this is the consequences of decentralised, so nobody could stop this, anyone is free to create their own coin either by create new coin or forking

Unfortunately, i can only agree, the forks are currently just nerf and there are enough forks.
With every new fork i am just annoyed and just ignore it.
I hope people finally stop publishing all the worthless forks.  :o

I agree, a fork offers just a possibility to produce unnecessary projects and people dealing with their beef. They should create a new project, maybe on ERC20, that wouldn't affect Bitcoin. They use the fork to get more attention to their useless coin.

You should accept that many people are trying to make change with the same reputation. The "fork" is one of the steps to help them do that so it will not stop. Crazy people do not care about the interests of anyone, and they do not want to do what they want.

Of course, they are supported by those who have a huge holding of the original coin.  They may be into the idea but if you look at it, if a fork is done, automatically it will produce two chains where holders can benefit on both.  Everyone wants profit, won't they?  So it is not a surprise that there are great forces behind this fork, those who have huge holdings of the coin of course, because it means profit for them.

I agree that forks harm the market. I consider it appropriate to do them, if only the network of a blockchain switches to a completely different branch, but a meaningless set of forks only takes money from really worthwhile projects.

They made forks because of some reason. Only we can blame not the team for the massive dump after the fork but for the whale investors. Because they are buying big just to get many fork coins and after the fork, they just dump the coin back to its lower price.

Most of the sentiment here is that you cannot stop anyone forking an open blockchain - which is true.
However, if you look at the history of forked coins - most of them died or are dying. Quark > Frozen, ZCash > Zcash Classic etc. There are a few exceptions - LTC > DOGE, Bytecoin > Monero. In these cases, memes, community or dev support (or all three) was good enough to sustain them.
I suspect ALL the BTC forks will be dead or nearly dead in 2 years time.
Just don't buy coins from forked chains! The seller has made free money and the buyer is engaging in risky and foolish behaviour that undermines crypto and makes them poorer in the long term!

As long as those developers will get money from doing fork then they will not stop doing it. Greedy people will utilize everything they have to get easy money and now cypto will be flooded with those forks that will threaten the whole cryptocurrency on their shady projects.

as i know from binance, BCH will delisted then BCHABC and BCHSV will added.

I am so tired of all of the forks really, like why are there so many of them, they see a coin doing good and the next thing is to fork the coin which leads to the market taking more hits than it has already taken. It is something that has got to stop if we actually want the market to bounce back to what it was before or else we will keep crashing

This is one of disadvantages of crypto market. As for me, these forks is a rubbish but I'm not connected to them. If someone wants to make fork of some coin, he can do for free and it's not bad and not good.

Launching a hardfork is not a scam. It is not a ponzi scam if thats what you mean. Coins are having some forks due to implementation or revision of their coin to make it more useful and more faster. They needed to fork with a valid reason and not just for the sake of scamming.

The last hardfork has done a lot of harm to the entire cryptocurrency market, I think, but now we can hardly do something, just wait until everything settles down by itself!

At the moment, I see it as a scam due to good marketing! It should take some time for the forks of coins to leave the market! I still do not understand. Why BCH, BGD, SVB exist on the market, they do not carry any value !!!

First and foremost what is main reason why do they create a fork and who are the people qualifies to do the crypto fork? In my own opinion fork is the easiest way to be popular in an instant just like what happen with bch where it gained its place in the market in no time. Not unlike if they would create another coin or token it would take time before it could get support from the investors and to be in the market.

People who make forks of the main currencies always pursue only one goal - to create a stir and try to make money on it, but in reality the detailed actions always affect the ecosystem negatively because they lead to splitting the main asset into two parts.

You need to remember that we are in a decentralized space which is not regulated by anybody so forks or any other things can't just be stopped like that though at times it's not liked by many but I don't think there is anything we can do to it.
