Title: [Help] Buying BTC in Germany
Post by: GermanyBTCToss on December 02, 2018, 01:49:41 PM
Hello everyone, I do not Speak German, I apologize.

I have a question though if you don't mind helping me out!

I need to buy 10,000$ USD worth of BTC in Germany, I would prefer to walk into a place that I can make the transaction and walk out with bitcoins in wallet. Where would the best place to do this be?

The things that matter most are : Safety (of myself and the cash/coins), Speed of Transaction, Lowest possible fees (in that order)

If I cannot do this in person, what is the best platform in Germany to buy on (with speed and low fees in mind mainly -> no long verification process, I want to be able to signup/register and buy 10K of bitcoin same day, done deal.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

I took a look at the offer on localbitcoins as well and there doesnt seem to be a user in Germany that accepts cash payments.

But I compiled a list of German users who you can trade with for $10.000+ from Germany. Here is the list:
https://localbitcoins.com/instant-bitcoins/?action=buy&country_code=DE&amount=10000&currency=USD&place_country=DE&online_provider=ALL_ONLINE&find-offers=Search

There is also a bitcoin ATM in Munich:

I can sell you Bitcoin worth 10k. Bank transfer within Germany should arrive within the same day.

I appreciate your offer, this is a very important matter and i'm not 100% comfortable with buying/selling bitcoin yet, I would prefer to not do a cash/BTC transaction in person with an individual, I'm not sure about the security measures involved in that, is that a normal thing?

The risk of doing a 10k cash transaction for Bitcoin is the same with any other cash transaction (for cars, watches, etc.)

10K is a lot of money and you should probably think about getting an Escrow for the deal to be on the safe side.

I am almost for sure going to do this on Coinbase.com w/ a verified/reputable seller.

One consideration was this place.

"Bitcoin Store Frankfurt
Investment service in Frankfurt, Germany
Address: Deutschherrnufer 27, 60594 Frankfurt am Main, Germany
Hours:
Open ⋅ Closes 6PM

Phone: +49 174 1001113
Suggest an edit"

They have the 2nd BTC ATM in Germany, and are an investment service.

Does anyone have experience with them? I plan on calling them to broker a deal and see if they even will in a non-investment way.

Other than that option, I was just going to pick a seller on Coinbase (I found 2, one with 15,000+ Transactions 100% Feedback) and another with 1000+ 99% Feedback, all with limits up to ~30,000 EUR.
I even believe coinbase to be a better option overall, I'm sure the fees are lower and it's simpler to do via coinbase than go somewhere in person anyway.

The method of transfer would be SEPA bank transfer 10K Worth of BTC total (whatever that ended up being post-fees etc)

1nd Sellers rate is 3,644.86 EUR/BTC (1K+/99% seller)
2nd Sellers rate is 3,622.98 EUR/BTC (15K+/100% seller)

What do you guys think?

Hello,

about localbitcoins:

I took a look at the offer on localbitcoins as well and there doesnt seem to be a user in Germany that accepts cash payments.

There is also a bitcoin ATM in Munich:
https://coinatmradar.com/bitcoin_atm/6205/bitcoin-atm-orderbob-atm-munich-monte/

They closed their service in Germany because of the financial supervision (BaFin). There is "bitcoin-treff.de (http://bitcoin-treff.de/)", here you can meet people to buy Bitcoins, but the volume is not as high as with localbitcoins.

Recently some Bitcoin ATMs have been set up, but there Coinatmradar hasn´t list all.

If you need a german languaged guide for Bitcoin kaufen (https://coincierge.de/bitcoin-kaufen/) you can find it under the link.
