Going into 2019 for short or medium term gains what is best to go after
Coins that had bull runs in the past or a lot of attention but have dropped greatly in price (eg verg and Dodgecoin) or low cap or new coins and hopefully will grow in the future

I prefer short-term profits until the market stabilizes, the best investment for 2019 I choose 10 big lists at coinmarketcap.com, this will be a profitable investment

I prefer to go for long instead of short but you can go with any of these terms if you see that you have gained. There's no need to ask on what position you should go if you can decide and see that you have made much with the drop.

Most of the crypto experienced a dramatic plummeting and no one skip this. If there are few coins that managed to skip the bear, they were only few but majority of them went through with it.

whether my prediction is correct or not, but I am sure that coins that have a direct connection to the community will be a priority to develop more rapidly in the coming year.

Top 10’s are good potential investments in short term also some low capped coins must watch too, since some of them show good performance even in the longest bearish months. Its really hard to choose a good coin during this season since everything is in correction process, always trade and invest with caution.

New coins will have much more difficult starting phase since they very probably raised less capital than projects in the 'golden rush'. There are also very promising projects from the past that once were really high in top cryptocurrencies (ranked by marketcap) such as SHIFT.

I think a mixture of both can be a better strategy meaning that it all depends on the specific coin or token as far as potential for future gains or growth is concerned. These days though it can be so hard to determine which of the available digital assets can be shining next week or next month. This recent dip in fact taught me a big lesson here: holding is only done by the fools and sadly I am still a big member of this club. I am not really sure if 2019 can be better based on the anemic enthusiasm of the market right now...we don't know what are the things that can convince people to risk their money once more with the cryptocurrency market.

IMHO I would pay attention quite new coins with small cap. I'm looking after fusion, phantom, quark. But Eth now also looks very attractive at 100 prices) difficult decision)

Short term is good if your life style is fast paced.

I always hear this type of tactic that going with the new coins that has low caps. And what you're about to do is to buy thousands of it or probably millions of it that you can avail with few bucks. There's nothing wrong with that as long as you are investing what you afford to lose.

Especially with the listed coins, you just lose more, even with the growth of the market. Choose something more stable and comfortable, so as not to constantly watch the bursts and are not afraid for investments.

Indeed the top 10 coins have trust that can later be strengthened rather than new coins. But giving the opportunity for new coins to remain coins that can develop is extraordinary and certainly, the development team will work hard to maintain it.

maybe the growth will be there but not as crazy as last year and it will experience stability for the long term, and maybe the goal of looking for big profits is only in the new ico ico or coin coin.

I prefer long-term strategies -that's just personal preference though. Certainly there are gains to be made by short-term trading, but we need to remember that this can be very risky in a bearish market.

Until the market attains some level of stability, short term gains are the best to go for. This is because you cannot tell how the market sentiments will swing in the next one year. It's better to grab those quick gains and move on

With the number of bogus coins that came out this and last year, i think i'd opt to stick to old reliables. Yeah almost all of them are down but among new coins, these established coins have a better chance to make a recovery than icos and new projects.

Both are good and it is good one should know how most of the coins have performed in the past before investing into them.  I could remember that ethereum at the beginning of last year were not doing too good and after some time people began to invest in it and also icos projects began to sprink up and ethereum start to increase in price until it hits around $1450 across most of the exchange.  I still hold some of the ethereum that I invested higher than the current price but I seriously believe that ethereum will soon recover if not next year it will be a year after.

Have good potential in both provided we always put ourselves in the right place. It's a bit risky to choose new coins for now because there are too many scam coins but I'm sure there are still some coins that have better potential.

A lot of the major coins that lost price won't recover. They'll be replaced by the newer more promising coins. Investors will start to realize that in time and money will transition from those projects to the newer projects. Many coins had their opportunity and didn't take it. So my answer is promising low cap coins.

I agree that the top 10 might be a good choice for investment, but I don't want to appoint one coin to choose because each person has his own predictions about the coins he likes.

I'm investing quite small amount of money and want to change my life, so I decided to invest part of my depo in very low cap coins to become rich) Now I almost lost most of my money. My main problem is losing patience while waiting. Part of depo I invested in neo and ETH) And almost lost them too( But I didn't sell house or car so it will be just a lesson for me, without critical consequences. In two-three months only low cup coins can change anything in in my welfare. And still, most alts even eth cost very much for the functionality that they giving to people in comparison with real companies. But they are on their lows and still have their names and maybe they will bounce too.

2019 market will grow but it will not help us to get back what we have lost at this time. we should diversify investment. It will be better for us. We should choose the new altcoins, because the uptrend will make the altcoins that very high prices.

I think it's better to go with already established coins and which are progressing with their project and has some real use cases like pundix (npxs) and many other like XLM. It's very risky to get into new ones at the moment so if you are looking to get into them then dont allocate much of your portfolio into them.

Not only top 10, there are  many token that is promising outside of it.  With active development and partnership, it is good to long these kind of token since we all know once the platform and roadmap is delivered, those who long for these token  will greatly benefit.
