With already spreaded idea and knowledge about some phishing attempts especially at MyEtherWallet, hope that newbies will be aware to this kind of activity.

Common Sense, yes, that is the main point here.
When you open a MEW account, nowhere during the registration are you asked to enter an email address so how can MEW or another wallet know your email and send you a LEGIT airdrop - Common Sense.

It’s good that you brought that up as a warning to the community. I’ts incredible just how many scam attempts there are around. I came across a report recently that showed the degree of phishing attacks and emails campaigns that have been detected (see http://docs.apwg.org/reports/apwg_trends_report_q2_2018.pdf). The report states amongst other stats for Q2 2018 (I have not located a Q3 report):

-  June 2018 seemed to have 90.882 active email phishing campaigns.
- In June 2018, there were 51,401 unique detected phishing sites (100K in April 2018).

Yes, but newbies tend to fall for this trap because they're eager to get their bounty rewards/tokens and they tend to believed that those phishing are real that's why they easily give their information and later complain that they have been hacked. The best weapon for this kind of attacks is use our sound judgement before doing anything.

It is definitely common sense as this is just another phishing link scam, but I'm going to admit that that's definitely a way smarter and a more clever version of just straight off spreading phishing links through emails. I actually see people that are slightly knowledgeable on phishing scams to fall for this.

Most of those scam attempts can be recognized if you take a look at the URL. They are often very similar to the original, but have to have typos, slashes etc. which the original URL hasnt.

Thanks for sharing what you found out. I see that some people are shilling this XYO network so I think that's also part of their marketing to gain more potential victims that will bite that airdrop and logging in to that phishing link.

To those folks that loved to get with airdrops, always check the url if its not a jumbled or replaced words. Always bookmark myetherwallet or other web wallets that you have been using. Stay safe people.

Another phishing links please stay safe from these gays, For safety please bookmark your trading sites or other wallets that you have using,
using an antivirus more safety.

It's very nice of you to share such information,to keep others safe from such phshing attempts really,even though I feel if one follows the normal procedures and tries not to be too greedy or to earn the easy way then he or she wouldn't fall prey to this

those kinds of emails are quite common. I doubt if anyone involved in airdrop and bounty hasn't received such mail. but the word of the day is DELIGENCE

Everyday i recieve emails coming from unkwnown sender which contains airdrop promo, but when you join the aidrop and clicked the link the document will ask your privatekey ,which is scam at the first place.

Why would you insist to read and open them if you already knew that they came from random sender ? your only risking yourself that way and yes it is obvious that its a scam if they will be asking for your privaye keys  before you joined them  . airdrops only ask for your eth wallet not private keys , passwords , or any other important infos .



Id like to add that legit and original sites have ssl or a padlock icon above the url . and they usually start with https  . that means the site is secure

The https or SSL does not make the site secure nor is it an indication of a legit site. It only means that the link or connection between you and the site is encrypted. But the receiver of the data you send can still have malicious intents and misuse it.

There are plenty of scammers out there who wants to have a money without working hard. We really need to be careful especially that we can lose our money by a simple mistake.

It is very helpful to all beginners in order to become familiar with this type of hacking attempt so they will not lost a single money in the future.
