As currently, Bitcoin price is about $3400, almost the lowest price of past 10 months.

Is it the right time to invest some for the moment?

There's literally no way to find out if this is the lowest it can get or not.

If you're planning on holding bitcoin for decades at least, then probably $3400 is a good price to buy some. A $1000-$2000 price difference is little to nothing if you're actually bullish on bitcoin long-term.

If you're just trying to make money short-term though? I don't know. No one knows. If you're going to gamble short term, probably go to a casino instead. If you lose, at least you probably somewhat enjoyed the experience.

If you seeing it from the perspective of it been more affordable than before it would seem like a good time to buy
 but if you seeing it from the current situation of the market it might seem as a bad situation.

You would never know and you can't be sure about that question. When price goes down everyone talks about the buying bitcoin but actually we can't know that when the crushing stop. If you use this strategy you have to loose. I believe that you need to prepare your plan with your time table and you have to stick with that plan. Otherwise you would loose it.

what you need to have in mind is that you will NEVER be able to buy at the bottom of any drop. it is simply impossible. only one order among millions will be at the lowest price. and since that price is unpredictable what we do is that we guess what the lowest price may be and then choose any price above that and buy.

that makes current price a good candidate for buying if you consider this to be the end of the drops or  close to it. in my opinion this current price is lower than what lowest price should have been which makes it a good entry point for me. but your speculation may be different so try making decision based on that.

It may be. But no one know when is the true time exactly. We were talking it never fall under 6K from six months. It did! I think 3K level is the last defence line. Under 3K can be dangerous.

So, never buy Bitcoin with loan or any lend. Never put your all money in it.

Now it is very difficult to speculate what will happen next with the market. But my personal opinion, if I had money, I would now invest in BTC as the price really allows it.

No one knows if it is really the bottom but if you want to invest, you should put what you are afford to lose and make sure that you are ready to take the risk and willing to wait longer. The price now is cheap which is an opportunity to buy some of the coin but do not expect that you can gain easier from it for short time, market is slowly moving and takes time to recover.

I would try and buy 3 of them for $10,000. By the time it goes back up to 5 figures you will have a hefty sum.

What ever the price of bitcoin it is still good idea but if you are investors or traders your idea is better to buy at a low price. But, you need to think wisely if you ever take the risk because in every purchase of bitcoin there are risk and not all people who buy bitcoin earn profit. But still I suggest you must buy bitcoin.

The market situation is unpredictable these days. It is so a serious matter to decide and advice anyone on trading now. The price of bitcoin at present $3400 may not be the bottom based on what has been happening for the past 3 weeks so I do not think we have seen the bottom yet so the price will still slide down more. If you ask me I will suggest you hold your money till the first quarter of next year.

Times without number this question has come up and would continue to come up as long as there is a market and people are ready to either cash in on the opportunity or lose out on the opportunity. The answer to your question is are you ready to risk it knowing either of the two options could come out at the end of the day. The point at which you can decide that with the timeline you set for yourself, then go ahead and invest but know that you will be fully responsible to bear whatever comes out of it.

If we go back a few more years it was even lower in the three digit figures. A 10month price chart wont make any sense if you are going to jump in now.

What I am trying to say is that you could invest at this time but seeing the market sentiment depressed at the moment it would drop more in my opinion. Buying now can be both good or bad. Good if its going to go up from this 3.4k USD level and bad if it is going below to 1k again.

So maybe buying in small chunks every time it falls is a better way of spending your cash. Buy at the lower levels going down each level and increase the amount in every drop. Then see how much of it gets through and we will see how far the market drops. ;)

I think to start investing with crypto currency by way of trading in general, indeed by buying at a cheap price and selling at a high price to get profits we just have to be smart in utilizing the opportunities that we will get in investing.

Well to be a little more exact, it' the lowest in mire than a year dating back to mid 2017 before bitcoin made it's historic run. And i don't think we have to rely on these predictiond about 2019. I remember the predictions for the last quarter of 2018 were quite promising lol.

Its certainly better to be involved then buying early into a downtrend. From what I've seen previously in Bitcoin and just generally it does take time to level off and that process is taking many months.   

How long and what age we measure this bear section to the graph could be as long as 12 months now.   I think it could take another 12 months to turn around, thats my neutral to optimistic opinion on this.  I would advise not one holding of BTC but being able to buy every month over 12 months or so and I'd say the same for Stocks and a few different investment types tbh

I'm in the same boat. I would wait to see signs of reversal and a bottoming range before buying, or slowly scale in over many months. A capitulation spike isn't necessary, but it's typical with Bitcoin and we haven't seen it yet.

The equities market is worth keeping an eye on too. If the bottom holds on the major indices and we enter a range, I think it'll be a positive development for the Bitcoin market. Uncertainty in the world markets casts an air of pessimism over everything.

I don't know about the other but i am kept buying when the price of Bitcoin is kept falling because we have already seen how potential the Bitcoin is going to be, so now it is very good time to grab some Bitcoin and hold it for another year you will really make some decent profit with your purchases.

maybe yes because if you buy in low price and you can sell it when the price back on its normal price you can make a good income by just buying and holding and selling it in the right time. Buying is the good things trhat we can do when the price is not good to prepare your self in the near future that the price multiply, so you can make a good profit by just buying and holding it and sell when the price back what we are expecting.

It's a quite tempting but the problem is,  if they could sustain the market flows. Many were losing at this time cause they can't wait for the market rebound and they sell then.
I know it is hard to be patient at all times, we need to make gains in order to sustain our investment. That's is why,  only few investors have a strong faith can do it.

It's good time because the price is low but on the other hand it depends on your risk apetite or in other words how much are you willing to risk and what are your expectations in terms of profit.

Maybe we should be waiting right now. I am not an expert on bitcoin or prices and I have been involved for years however I really don't know what it will do next. The Christmas is around the corner and we are still waiting on the big players to join us with nasdaq, sec, bakkt and all those news which is couple months from now so it probably won't do anything big right now but I doubt it will do anything big as soon as there is good news, it will probably either do it earlier to prepare or it will do later to react.

I am still not too sure and uninformed on the subject but I prefer waiting to do anything, maybe we can start buying when the trend starts, for example if bitcoin rises %10 in an hour you can buy some for the hopes that it will go higher and if it doesn't you can sell, however no need to buy right now when its doing nothing.

If you bought at 3400$ by the suggestion of forum members then it is the time for you to sale and earn some profit. As it is around 3800$, you can get profit of 400$ per BTC. If you did not buy the btc then it is the time again for you to buy btc. You have to hold for few  months then your investment can be doubled. If you have huge amount you can buy larger volume and earn more by trading on binance of localbitcoins. You can also use other exchanges to earn.

I think it's a good moment because of the total market loss. Every trader will tell you that when an asset lost 80% of its value and it was due to technicals not news or problems with the asset itself it is a time to buy.
I'm so bullish that if I had a lot of money I would be buying since 5000 dollars all the way down. We were due for a reversal since then but the fear was too strong.

If i were you, i will find a chart of bitcoin and starts buying bitcoin as much as i could since bitcoin started to dropped its price on January up until now. A recent bull run was ended last year on December, i don't think there will be a chance that bitcoin would rise their price at the end of the year.

For me its a yes. Its a hood time to invest but it all depends on the project you will invested. Its good to invest when the bitcoin price is low because you can invest in a low value of coins. I'm only suggesting for someone who intends to invest in bitcoin but he still has afraid in him then I don't think that's a good idea. Investment in bitcoin is different from investing in land, real estate or other investment places such as bitcoin cause you cannot sell quickly when you have just bought. Bitcoin prices can decline dramatically when someone has just bought, you can distinguish from other investment places.

We can see now that bitcoin is already pumping and this can be a great sign for us to get in. Don't wait for a major pump of bitcoin, try to get it now while the price are still cheap. Buying bitcoin is always a good idea and decision for me because this is a top coin and no one can stop bitcoin on that place. To me if you have some good risky capitals and you are ready to part with in case the whole thing goes against you I think now is the right time to buy but if you are a fearful one and you are afraid of what could  happened then I will said you should avoid trading.

In hindsight, it was probably a good idea to buy when BTC was in the low $3,000 range. I can't say for sure whether it's a good buy now, but I think in the long run BTC will go much higher. In my view, rather than trying to catch the bottom, investors should have been dollar-cost averaging. This thing moves too fast to time.

Its a good idea to buy outside of that weeks trend while focusing on the month and years likely progress.    Buying in December I dont exactly agree with, it was unknown but by February there was an ok trend in place and possibility the price could build on that upwards.
I thought this but I didnt realise it would gain as much so quickly so I should have been alot more bullish.   The real point I'm making is that the question to buy now has to be repeated regularly for a good gain, so buy a little on every month is a better answer.

 To ask once and only buy once I dont agree with as much, its more likely to be right when checking regularly and no big negative to buy into a rising trend at rising prices.   I often wish I would do that more often and be more confident of the trend

   The appropriable way to do is to be sensible for every current scenario has take and I think it is about our individual decision to make. Perhaps, the current market has fighting high volatility which can affect the rapid growth of the coins. If you ask me I would suggest one to definitely buy bitcoins at current levels, but I would suggest to buy in dips rather than buying it in one go. As it’s been rightly said by @Cherylstar86 it does depends on the individual, whether he or she can afford the volatility, and their ability to lock funds for the long term. Then if you do some research you’ll see that bitcoins adoption rate has increased, and it’s only a matter of time before the bull run begins.

Its always a good idea to buy Crypto. Because price always its goin to get ups and downs. It only depends how much time are you planning to wait mto get profits. The peope who buy in december 2018 righ now are gettng some good profits.  but even if u buy now. n the next couple years u are getting profts again its only about  control your emotions.

The author of this thread should have been wise to invest in bitcoin when the price was $3400 in December. I feel i should have bought as well. Many here do feel it always. Even current situation is not too worst to leave. Right to buy as many coins as you can now. The price would minimum reach $7000 by end of December 2019. Hence go for it.

This topic made me laugh, I remembered same questions more than 4 years ago when price was under 200 dollars. Same question repeats over and over again, and when ever I see it I have a good laugh and reading comments make me to laugh even more. If anyone questioning idea of buying bitcoins shouldn`t be here in the first place. I can`t understand what more people wants from bitcoin, what more that we didn`t already saw in last 10 years? Bitcoin is keep surviving and growing, don`t risk to stay without bitcoins and to ask same question in couple years when price reach some high 5 digits price.

Last night the price of bitcoin rose again, it's a pity if you didn't buy it before when the price had corrected at $5300. and now the price has risen to $5800. don't expect prices to fall back to $3800, prices won't return to that position again, be realistic. better to buy when the opportunity arises dude

If you want to buy I wouldn't buy now, either wait for the pullback to either $5000 or $4200 or so. OR just wait and see if it breaks the $6000 and buy it then.

It would be best if it had a big green candle past the $6000 and it retested the $6000 and it held, then you got confirmation that most likely the upside will continue. If it broke the $6000, then you sell at a small loss.

Because buying here which is strong resistance from 2018, its not a wise move since many people are expecting this to be the top and are taking profits, or shorting here.

For me there is no time better than 2010 in investing in Bitcoin . A little bit late to buy and the dips were passed by, though the Bitcoin price isn't that high never have the guarantee that you'll have a huge profit this time not unless it will make another strike. But if we have still the courage to take the risk then, that would be a very tough decision and be sure that we are prepared for anything that will happen.

Its never too late !    However we have to consider time frames mostly for how much in scale to your various asset allocations.   If you do all that its still sensible and actually very profitable to buy into a rising trend.    Doing that is really the best thing if you think about it, you want to be part of a sucessfull product in general and not wanting to buy because it keeps going up ? thats very ironic and means you miss on good strong trends.

Buying bitcoin is now the same as investing in a profitable future, both short and long term. This year is the rise of bitcoin, evidenced by the price that continues to rise to this day has reached USD 5965 and I'm sure it will continue to move up.
So I suggest adding investment if you still have a lot of capital to increase profits because the bitcoin pattern is like a curve, when it goes down it will be long but when the price increases it will still rise.

The year is still young but it seems there is a going to be a good recovery during this year, I still do not see to see another bull run like the one we saw in 2017 but it is going to enough to make the price to recover and to close above 10000, to me that is more than enough since during the next year we are going to get the halving of the block reward which will make the price to go even higher.

This current price now might be our own 2010 in future, imaging someone buying the coin now at $5000, and the value later turning to $150,000 in future, there would be no difference between people that invested in 2010 and cash out in 2017.

I agree. owning bitcoin at this time is something that is more beneficial for those who use it. however bitcoin will continue to grow and become better. even though there are so many people who want to drop the price of bitcoin at this time, I'm sure this year can be a good year for bitcoin.

And when we are about good timing maybe its good to buy it now before price goes higher, last couple weeks we are seeing nice uptrend, we are very close to $6k, I think we are talking about days here. If bitcoins succeed to break $6k barrier we will see $7k very soon. Now its the time when you are getting in before price rise too much, later will not be late, but for sure who comes in later will have higher prices and with same amount of dollars less amount of bitcoin can be bought.

That is right, I am in accordance with your thoughts too, I believe that bitcoin will rise to some level that will be satisfactory this year, even if we don’t end up reaching the bull market this year.  I have set up some fiat to keep buying bitcoin every time I see a dip for the next increase.

I have bought some bitcoin again now at this current value, waiting for increase of $7000, I know there will be a bounce back before going forward more, which I will still buy again, this is how I have successfully been accumulating more BTC without having to invest heavily in the market.
